Back up the Deep Gap Branch Trail! 

I decided to go back up the Deep Gap Branch Trail to Deep Gap on the Appalachian Trail. I had wanted to loop back southbound to Wateroak Gap and hike a dotted track that I had seen labeled as "old Appalachian Trail" on a map one time. That was dependent on finding where it merged along the trail back near Deep Gap, which proved unsuccessful. It was a good hike, though, and it's always nice to be "reminded" of a trail and its features. Like a 1/4mi steep climb your brain neglected to remind you of!
