Great video...i came looking for how bad injectors can ruin fuel economy. I have an '06 Honda Element that gets absolutely terrible gas mileage. Gonna order a set of injectors now. Thanks!!
Thanks for that helpful video! Do you have a video where you make this setup, how to set all this to check my diesel injectors, because I think I have an issue
Apologies my friend for the late reply. I dont have the setup..but a 6mm rupper pipe cut to fit inside the leak off port and inserting the syringe body would do the job.
My swift diesel 2011 ddis clocked 106000 is producing black smoke while accelerating, turbo is ok and there is not any oil consumption. Egr and intercooler cleaned at 80k, catalytic converter cleaned at 90k. No problems with Cold starts and the acceleration is great.Mileage 17.6 in city and around 20 on highways. Can't diagnose the problem.
If the chain is too loose you get starting issues, chain sounds etc...It's should be the egr or sensors I guess....clean them properly..maf should be cleaned by removing the plastic guards and steel filter inside.
Might be worth having a compression test done. Also might be a good idea to have the operating pressure and spray pattern checked on the injectors. I worked in a factory designing and testing diesel injectors for 11 years.
I am here late, I hope I'd get an answear. I have kinda the same problem but on a renault so I think the forth one is the one all the way to the left(next to the timing chain) That one is filling up but the other took some untill they started filling and after that they were also filling slower. The problem I have is really BAD black smoke when accelerating hard and I think the problem would be the other 3 because instead of leading back to the tank the fuel gets sent in the cylinder and is more diesel in the mix than needed. In that case the other 3 are faulty. I don't know in your case because they seem to fill in sync. What do you think? Did you solved the problem?
Here the problem was excessive cranking before start...it takes around 8 to 10 seconds to start and when hot, fails to start. the one with too much leak off was worn inside and leaks fuel back to return pipe causing delayed pressurising the rail. In your case, a black smoke can be seen if the turbo is malfunctioning, sensors malfunctioning, turbo boost leaks, egr sticking etc....
This doesn't mean any condition. Its excessive leak off from that injector. certain amount of fuel comes out injector from its working. It shoud be under certain limit...if its above the limit, you will get long cranking before start as hp pump has to work long to make fuel pressure.
Hi. Just done the test on mercedes viano and unsure what the results mean. 2 filled level and 2 didnt fill at all after 30 seconds. The engine was lumpy as hell, and the engine shut off and was unable to restart the test. Was fine once i put return pioe back on.
Vehicles with precise fuel metering, shuts off if there's a leak in fuel return or delivery. Fuel leak off should be minimal. If there's excess or like too much, need an expert diagnose.
Hei. Can you give me right answer? I have one insignia 2.0diesel. No smoke, but shaking when i push gaspedal. New: diesel filter, air filter, oil, coolant water cleaned air flow sensors. New timing belt, water pump and something other things. No fault code. When i go up to 3000rpm shaking gone and looks like give enough diesel. Goes without any problem after. Stop the car and shaking again with accelerating. And then is gone around 3000rpm. And to the next start goes easy. Maybe one injector is bad? 261.000km in car.
Engine shake or wiggle is a result of misfire...mostly...in diesel..injector is the only one thing that cause misfire unless there's some serious decompression in any one cylinder.
@@dailyhandsdiy pressure sensor in common rail? Or pressure valve? Because if its go up to 3000rpm fail is gone and car goes like a rocket. Until i stop and start again.
@cheeba4069 rail pressure sensor shows intermittent stalling and check engine light in most cases, drv same, any leak or closed drv gives a rail pressure related code...Could check the rail characteristics using a scanner.
Hi you need a syringe and 6mm dia hose mainly used for wiper washer. cut them accordingly to fit inside leak off port. Remove the clip and connected pipe from leak off port and seal the end pipe so fuel won't leak. press in the cut out 6mm pipe and followed by the syringe. set up is completed.
If you mean oil consumption..then no injectors won't cause oil consumption. And the dpf can get clogged if the injector malfunctions. Also if the oil burning inside the cylinder is high, dpf clogs fast.
If diesel leaks to the cylinder too, it goes thru pistonrings to the oilpan.. When you check oil level, you can smell if there diesel too.. Diesel can leak from injector seals to oil reservoir too.
Yes exactly, when cold, the fuel will be denser and with bad injectors especially with bad or clogged nozzle, fuel get restricted to be sprayed at proper quantity. And when it becomes hot, fuel get thinner thus escapes the restriction and gets a better spray pattern. the engine smooths out. Same happens if the injector solenoid becomes weak. Cold and failing solenoid will be weak and when it becomes hot works better.
after change the injector you have to programming, on every injector there is number on every injector and after changing you have to put that number in side ECU, but if you are doing french car you have to be cearful, on french car they cound cylinder form clutch side, on normal car is 1-2-3-4-gearbox, on french is 4-3-2-1-gearbox
Thats easy, get 4, 60ml injection case, remove the leak off port, insert a bike fuel hose cut into case, insert it into the leak off, close the return line of fuel. start and see.
