We give our Corsa B GLS 1.4Si a good polish to revive the faded Flame Red paint, then fix a misfire, blocked washer jets and fit a rare SRi steering wheel
What a transformation on the little Corsa Dougie, you and the little apprentice can be proud of the time you spent cleaning it, changing the coil pack and steering wheel. Just starting my little Once Driven Forever Smitten binge watch.
Love it. Dougie you gotta take that huge GB sticker off to clean up the back end! The Cav Belmont Astra SRi steering wheel is superb and ideal to fit into a retro project but the Corsa one is better suited. The paintwork has come on lovely. The G101 worked wonders on the plastics. One thing though the speedo seems to be under reading ot hardly moving???? Ps you can always grab some spare washer jets on your next scrapyard road trip. Talking of Belmonts....wonder how many are now left in the uk.....I believe the raciest model was SRi no GTE or GSi version
We had a late 1996 P reg Corsa 1.2 Vegas in Flame Red and paid for some sort of paint treatment before delivery, Supaguard or something. Only kept it for 3 years but did see it again in about 2010 and it didn't seem to have morphed into Flame Pink.
Firstly l live in Australia and these were sold as the Holden Barina unfortunately there are not many of them around also although red in its various shades us a great colour on cars but it does fade and especially in Australia with the amount of sunny days we get but a good wash and polish your Courser looks very nice and your cat loves getting in your cars and we got the Vauxhall Astra it became the Holden Astra thrre are still plenty of those around but in Australia tge are known as the Holden Disastra which means they are not very good fortunately we no longer get them with the demise of Holden
My mum once owned a very early Nova 1.2L, FOD100Y. It was Carmine Red (Flame Red came in by 1989 I think). It would develop a thin milky film every 6 months or so, after it reached about 5 years old. But it always polished up quickly and easily with the 3M Perfect-It Machine Glaze I used to use.
Corsa looking well smart Dougie, and the new bumpers are going to finish it off nicely. I had a 93 Corsa 1.2 LS in Flame Pink. Paint would only stay Red for 2 weeks unless it rained!
Can Remember that steering wheel in my aunties E reg Astra merit. Brings back happy memories and today what do i drive but a 60 Reg astra sri estate love it.
What a improvement, its a clean honest motor, nice interior. looks mint, band new even, once engine bay is steamed it will b a fantastic car. Shame about crease in wing, a little job for dent master lol, you have a good helper there, makes a difference with help. Its a good honest car that has been well maintained and a rare one at that. It never ceased to amaze me when bleached paint is restored, its almost hypnotic, great result you two and bob lol.
Sweet. Even Maguiers works ace. I’m more G360 Farecla. With wool. Cars come back with elbow grease and the right products and dwelling. It’s very very satisfying. Like. Really satisfying. Solid red fade single stage paint back to gloss
That G101 looks pretty strong. For general cleaning i used to water it down 30:1. I found if i used a strong solution on fabrics/carpet it used to leave a residue that attracted dirt.
These little Corsa's and Astra's in flame red used to be an easy £500 score for me 15 years ago or so. Used to buy them flat pink for £500, mop them and a mist of satin black on the bumpers or trims if really grey then flip them £1000 the same week. Canny job Dougie mate, looks spot on for such an old Corsa.
I love this wee car. The restored Flame Red looks great and, as cool as the MK2 Cav steering wheel is, the period correct Corsa B one looks so much better in the car. Great that the coil pack fixed the running too Constipation strikes again though, this time with the washer hoses.
Bob did a cracking job on that dash. The unsung hero 😂 looking forward to more on the GSi. Careful with the heat gun on plastics, you can melt the plastic easily and make the plastics brittle. For a cheap and easy fix, apply baby oil and buff off. For a more permanent fix, turtle wax do a new plastic trim restorer thing that seems to be well reviewed. Car Cleaning Guru used it a little while back and was impressed with it.
So cheap the old Corsa Bees are , Ive seen so many for under £1 grand on autotrader great cars made in Germany as Opels just rebadged Vauxhall for the UK market I had a 1.4 Sport back in the old days and they are very nippy safe cars.
Looks great..been binge watching your vids lately. Do you know the best place to buy rocker cover bolts for a corsa D? I can only seem to find them with the rocker cover
The outer London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Harrow and Hillingdon, together with Surrey County Council, issued a joint statement announcing they have launched a judicial review into the Labour mayor’s plan.
