Gota say one of the best comparison videos on lights that I have seen in awhile. Good job to you and dozer. Most videos just show a distance comparison but you guys actualy took them out and showed what they light up on a trail and reverted back and forth to show us the results. I was really expecting Amazon to be blown to bits by the Baja Design, especially in flood and depth. This changed my perspective big time. Great comparison!

You guys hit the nail on the head with the comment at the end.....if it breaks I just buy another. Who wants to break a $500 & $1000 light bar? Not me. Buy the cheap functional light and replace it with no worries if it breaks.

The advantage to the Baja is IMO the "yellower" light tone. It sure looks like it produces the same light output (maybe slightly better), but noticeably less glare (reflected light off the snow). That's the biggest issue I have with most LED lights. They are too "blue" and reflect like crazy. A softer, slightly yellow tone is much better and easier on the eyes over distances/time. Still not worth the $1000 delta though. You could put a yellow "film" on the cheap bar and achieve a similar result.

Should of had the vehicles more apart from each other to see the full lighting of each of the lights, now the lights kinda merged when comparing I feel. But definitely gives people second thoughts on spending big amounts of cash on lighting. Great video overall tho, thank you!

My first time watching u guys. Awesome video. I professionally installed these for a while. The price usually depicts the quality. Or just a name brand. We usually had to dismantle the front glass and add a good silicone. Then the light would never leak. Great video!!!,

Great video guys I bought my 40” light bar from Amazon last year and it was $89.00 It came with the wire harness, switch and two 4” cube lights. I’ve installed the bar but not the cube lights. One problem I have is the light reflects off the dash and I can’t see much. If the dash is clean, no problem but as soon as it gets dusty I can see more with light bar off. You may not have this problem with the light bar brackets. I mounted my light bar to the roof. Great comparison with this video. I’m glad I went cheap like Dozer.

Good info! I have been wondering about this. I like how Dozer's dual light set up really kept things lit even under throttle vs. how Sausage's light beam would go skyward. I am sure BD has supreme engineering and components, but for a last minute install before a night trip or dune trip Chinesium for the win. I have a 20" Chinesium bar on my truck, about 4 yrs old now, still works, no leaks, no fading.

I did buy some Baja Design bars BUT, I REALLY liked you guys being about the facts, great comparisons and also....you not being sarcastic in annoying ways. A very small amount of jabbing/joking w/each other but not annoying. Great video, good info and nice comparative illustration(s). Keep it up !

That was a great comparison. I have the amazon lights on my Subaru and its going on 3 years now. I would have liked the two vehicles at least 5 feet apart when doing the overhead comparison though. Great video guys. thanks!

Great Vid !! Very well done with the drone shot and ground view cut in. It looks to me like the cheapie clearly had more light in the side by side.

A few things: spread the vehicles apart for a better comparison and also, the BD was angled down slightly more, hitting the ground sooner instead of throwing the light farther. Also, the BD LED’s run at 100% due to copper metallurgy they use, running cooler. The BD’s will also last much longer (but you do have a good point - you can buy 10 Amazon’s in the same time period to equal the cost. Great comparison! I’m about to get the BD S8 20” for the Tacoma. I have a Baja ONX+. Great light. Buuuuuut, I am a fan of VisionX. They seem to be the best value I have come across. Their ADV series, which I own, are extremely high quality. Would love to see you guys do a VisionX light cannon video. Thank you for your video!

I purchased a 4wdking light bar based on this video and I'm not disappointed. Really impressed with the light output. Puts the cheaper light bars like Nilight to shame. I would say more than double the brightness of the same size Nilight I replaced.

First video I watched on you guys channel, after trying to decide on biting the bullet for BD squadron pro’s. Fkn kudos best video just in general I’ve watched in ages. Covered the main point, skipped the in-depth install, unboxing etc etc. with some banter in between. Awesome video like always, great comparison! To me dozers light bar was brighter when you both were trail riding. The Baja light seemed to have a yellow tint. I’ve been running a cheap amazon light for the last 3 years with no issue.

Cool video. Here’s my take. I have had lots of cheap crap lights(speed demon, no name Chinese). Also lots of good brands(rigid, baja designs). I was looking to save a few bucks on my light situation by getting cheap ones. Never. Ever. Again. After you’ve had rigid or BD you can’t go back. The same light, same pattern, COMPLETELY different output. The difference is insane.

I kinda like the amber they give a little more definition to the contours in the dunes.

We have 12" autofell from Amazon and love it on are commander.

I hate to be a stickler but theres whats called IPX rating and its a gauge of how water resistant the lighting product is. Also theres a wattage that each LED chip is rated to. And theres a potential pressure valve in the light bar that some manufacturers include. This accommodation is for cold weather, when outside temperatures drop as the winter season closes in. In most cases The lightbar's structure will have a rubber O-ring between the two halves to keep the product waterproof. The affect of this makes the chamber pressurized and will rise in pressure if the product is in use. Now in winter if the lightbar is turned on while its been sitting in a cold envirenment the LED's will heat up the sealed chamber and potentially crack the lens, especially after its turned off and negative pressure will build inside the chamber. So thanks for listening im sure you guys already knew this stuff and just forgot to mention it or something but this is probably my FAVORITE LIGHTBAR VIDEO I'VE SEEN YET!! LED tech has advanced so much that Baja isn't that far ahead of the curve anymore. Amazon stuff is just fine.

I am glad to see videos like this; thank you. In the case of the 2 x 40 inch light bars you nailed it when you said the Baja might be a little brighter; but not over $1000 worth of brighter. However down in much smaller and less costly lights comparing cheap Chinese type lights to similar size more expensive quality built lights comparing $20 to $40 lights to about $200 to $240 lights being used on motor bikes of myself and a friend I will take the $200 lights as the 4 LED's in them make as much or more light {easily more actually} than the about 8 LED's he had in each light which were about 3 inches longer than the 4 inch lights I had.Also the bigger lights use more power to run for not greater output which matters when a motor bike has limited spare alternator output. Each person has to do the math for them self as to whether or not quality or price is the most important. But it is from videos such as your that a fair comparison can be made so thanks again.

I think that at least from your video that Aaron’s light bar has a little bit better color and it did maybe throw a little wider. It also looked like Aaron’s was aimed down a little bit more than Dozers light bar. So I am guessing that Aaron’s throws a little bit better. I like the small light bar down low for when the trail gets dusty. The big light bars pick up on the dust and make it hard to see. So having both the lights is cool. I believe the construction and sealing of the more expensive light bar is probably better. But probably a much better value on the Amazon model. Great video guys.

I enjoyed the video and it did answer some current questions for me, temporarily at least. I have to agree with Snow Falcon for now. The true worth will be how long it takes Dozer to break the Amazon. Like so many other riders tree limbs are my enemy. I don't like to break anything but a 1K+ light bar must be INDESTRUCTIBLE. 4 years on a 30" ebay light bar on '15 xp1k...still bright as hell.. Last year thought light was going out but it was the switch.

So I run a 32" bar up front and 2 small floods. 1 on each piller set down low. I had my light bar set up high on the top of the cage but I noticed at the dunes when the sand would get kicked up it would glare in the light and almost look like a fog. Visability improved big time when I dropped it out to the front if my rail. Oh and I also run El Cheapo lights. 2 years on my current set.

Come back to this test in a years time would be a true test

The Amazon purchase was very comparable, and much more financially viable. Hands down! Even the added wiring harness expense.

Excellent video guys!! just bought a LED bar today, seller shown me a top of the line KC 30" single row for a $1000 but my hart goes for a $120 Pro Comp 30" single row!! I'm pretty sure that KC has a way better components and quality...but I can do more with some extra money in my account and lived with that!!

Still an awesome vid guys. I have always wondered how my "amazon specials" would stack up. Now I know. A lot of guys saying that you should of had the buggies farther apart. But I disagree and think you did it exactly right. I want to see if one is going to over lap the other, and this was hard to tell. Good job guys.

For the drone overhead shot. Spread the 2 SxS further appart so thered hardly any overlap on light. Make sure that the frame is left to rifgt so we can see the fill distance. Also you can use the drone above and behind the SxS like a 3rd person driving game view. And always attempt to LOCK the exposure.

have been using amazon light bars for years without any concern or problem ,spent less than $200. for front & rear ,they throw more than enough light for east coast night woods riding . the big name brands may be a bit better ,but not nearly enough to off set the cost.great video guys!

Great video,I personally run Baja designs, biggest thing with BD light is efficiency, they run their LEDs at 100% where the amazon light is running only 70%, so the BD has 32 diodes where as amazon has twice as much, so your getting much more out of less which is a lot less taxing on your electrical system, they achieve that by using copper soldering rather than aluminum on all the circuits which cost a lot more. They also have done a lot of testing on what is better on your eyes, racing at night for hours on end can really put a lot of strain on your eyes.

The main difference is the flood and the color of the light. Dozer is more of a white, which in the snow makes it kinda mess with your eyes, but at the end of the day, if your happy, who really cares? The Baja design is a superior design and construction.

Great comparison. I went with a BD 10" Onyx 6+ light for the shock tower on my X3. I thought about a 40" single row amazon light up top but knew it would get broken by tree branches where I ride. So I went with the shock tower light. It is stupid bright for such a small light. The quality of the light output is important. The BD is a softer color temperature that is easier on your eyes. It also puts out seamless light with no dark streaks. It is good up to 60 mph on the trails at night. Faster than that and you start to outrun the light. Distance projection on the cheap lights is poor until you go big. Notice the difference between Keith's 12" light and the 40". I have had good luck with Amazon lights. They definitely get the job done for less money if you get one big enough. I have the same chase light as Keith. Xprite is the brand. It works great in the dust. It is also a back up light. The two in the middle are white lights. Night riding is a blast when.you can see good. Have fun. Be safe!

Nice video guys! Definitely the baja designs is probably about 15% brighter, but certainly not $880 worth of light. You can certainly replace a lot of lights for the price. Gotta say, the video editing is great, and those rides you guys have are off the hook!! Great job!

Welp, I’m convinced to go with this Amazon light bar I picked out.

Jason and I did the same thing. I had a 30" Rigid Radiance and he had a 30" amazon bar. Trail riding and side by side they looked really close brightest wise. The only place we could see the difference in lights were in the dunes. The Rigid had quite a bit more range. Mite be the only place you will see the money difference in the lights. $1000 difference I'm not sure though.

Most of the cost difference in light bars isn't in the brightness it's in the overall quality, durability and country of origin. Cheap light bars are the way to go for the vast majority of people.

I’ve had plenty of Amazon special and now running BD. What i noticed, and can confirm from your videos, is that the more affordable options looks brighter to the eye, has more of a hot spot. You can see it especially in the final chase scene. For me personally my eyes are pretty bad at best and that glare the cheaper ones produce drives me nuts. The BD LOOKS less bright, but i can see so much better if that makes sens? There is no hot spot, no bleed of lights going where it can’t be used and just an overall better quality and usability of lights. That is my 2 cents. I will continue to run BD in the future. Just bought an oedro 1368 watt 50 inch quad row light bar. Bright asf.

My x3 came with under 700 miles and the 2,600. Rigid adapt GPS lightbar failed the first week I used it. I sent it back a couple weeks before Thanksgiving and weeks later I was told it was not repairable. I was told they were covering it under their lifetime warranty even though I was not the original owner which was a great relief except I am still waiting for a replacement over a month later. So much for top of the line quality or service. I hope rigid doesn't see this before I get my light back. Stay tuned.

The best this of the baja is the lifetime warranty but for my budget Ill go with Amazon for my 2011 Nissan Versa LOL 😁 Streets and highways here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 are looking like off roads. I need some light in my 3am night drive to work🤷🏾‍♂️🤣😂
