@@zachloth1700 Still, something tells me that the Browns were done with Baker well before that report came out considering their investigation into Watson started in October. They were already looking for someone else and probably were looking at Wilson, Rodgers, and Watson being their third option if all else failed. With Wilson and Rodgers making their decisions early in free agency, the Browns were forced to go with Watson. An upgrade on the field and currently a hurricane off of it. At least the Baker chapter is over with not knowing what version of him was showing up to play on Sunday.

I don't really feel that the browns have had "super top tier talent" on their roster. I think they've had good talent but nothing great and exceptional, maybe just above average players at best. D.K Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are tier above Jarvis and OB and DPJ.

The first three were kinda weird. Hue Jackson was already on the hot seat for his poor record. Williams was an interim and could've been the next head coach had Baker not wanted Kitchens to be the next coach his second year. That one year experiment was a terrible call. Stefanski has been the best coach Baker has had in the league to this point and coached him for the past two. Stefanski has the potential to be the head coach there for a while, and he and Berry make a good HC-GM combo.

We called a soft defense and let a no name QB run for 18yds for a first down........ Look at our draft picks from last year, picked up a receiver in the third round that quits on his routes...... Many of the teams you listed would/do want him. But why go after him now when you can wait until Baker gets cut and save 19 million dollars from his current contract AND draft picks? I want a PS5 but if I know a $500 price drop is coming next week, why would I buy now?

I would disagree about the last part. There are a bunch of teams that want him and he would have a job tomorrow if he was cut. No team wants to pay that contract on top of a 2nd round pick which is what the Browns want and they don’t want to retain a large chunk of salary. The Browns also have no leverage because teams know that they’re kind of screwed so they’ll play chicken with Cleveland in hopes that they either cut him or drop their asking price to basically nothing.

Alex Smith didn't go his first 4 years with 4 different head coaches, 5 different coordinators, and playing through an injury (he's never played through and injury like Bakers, always choosing to sit out). Statistically speaking, Alex Smith best year was only a little bit better than Mayfields 2021 season. Alex Smith didn't even have starter quality play until he had 1 HC and 1 OC for multiple years and ownership who really knew how to build a winning team, and it to him 7 years to finally play at an acceptable level for a starter. Sorry, but this comparison is just not based in reality.

Coaches / Coordinators aren’t an excuse for not performing well especially if your hurt. Is it the injury or the system? Brady, Rodgers, Burrow, Lamar or any other all pro QB has showed us that you don’t play hurt for meaningless football. Baker didn’t earn any respect for that especially since they brought in Watson. Hope he sees that this is a business & not Oklahoma.

Earliest he gets picked up is immediately after the draft if a team who was hoping to draft a quarterback misses out. Otherwise he's staying on the Browns roster until he's paid and released.
