You guys mentioned the scope issue. I have used a piece of a milk jug just the wide of the scope ring to raise up the front of the scope. A shim basically, you might try that. That was unbelievable results for a short sight radius. I believe that load would drop a moose at 75 yards , what a punch. Just finished loading some 5 pellet 410 3 inch shells with double odd. Hope to get out to the range and test them. Enjoyed the video. entertaining and informational .
The accuracy problem with these is the wad. The rifling destroys the petals and ruins accuracy. They are much better from a smoothbore but still aren’t that great.
Do you sell any of these custom loads? Getting into shot shell reloading with an old Lee hand loader for 10 gauge, put a couple shells together but no testing yet! Fantastic content, thank you!
We have a video on the Lee slug too, they were loaded into 1 3/4” mini shells and were pretty accurate. I’d imagine in a 2 3/4” shell they’d be even more accurate. You can send those to 2000 fps.
Great video guys, I am a new sub, I was sent here by JH586 to get some knowledge. I am going to start reloading shotgun shells on my channel. Lot's of love from American Hillbilly and Hillbilly Nation, Hillbilly Up.
Based on the tests conducted by this guy with subsonic slug load development, velocity could have a major impact on accuracy for slugs. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zI0ewfZzkEo.html Do you find slugs to work pretty well for you at about 1400 FPS?
We’ve shot 7/8 ounce slugs up to and past 2000 fps and they were laser accurate. They have to be full bore, not a sabot slug. Most factory slugs are loaded to 1600 fps.
