Bambu Labs has now issued a fall recall offering a full refund plus compensation if you decide to return the printer, or you can hold onto it and receive a replacement upgraded bed and larger voucher code.

I installed a support for that cable on day 1, it never made sense that a high voltage wire would move that much. Metal break when you fold it back and forth!

Had this notification from Bambu Labs already as i have the A1, checked the cable and mine is fine but good to know they seem on the ball and acknowledge a potential fault promptly.

I received the printer 3 days ago, I have looked at the cable thanks to your video, and it is indeed broken.

surprised that just apparently a dodgy bent cable can cause the fire

I'm glad there is visibility into this, and Bambu is acknowledging the problem. However, a 3d printed part to fix this doesn't give me much hope or faith and I'd like to see a better design. I was planning on purchasing an A1 but will definitely be holding off with this issue. Time will tell if this "fix" works- but I personally wouldn't trust it. I currently have an A1 Mini and it has been great, but the connector seems to be very similar, and I don't even feel comfortable leaving it printing alone now.

It’s even more dangerous when it’s an AC bed on a bed slinger. They have to use thinker and more insulated cables that can break down quicker. Also a 24v DC is less shocking than AC mains voltage.

Its 2024 and bambu lab is taking a play from the anet A8 playbook. People are already sending in pics of bulging heatbed cables and BL is telling them they're fine and not a problem! Ridiculous considering that BL's official pics would state otherwise. They tell you to contact customer support but their customer support doesn't even know what a bad cable looks like.
