I ended up getting this mod. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how you guys got four of those bushings into that compartment and then I took a picture of it and I realized that the brake pedals shaft is so shiny like a mirror it looks like you had for bushings in there instead of 2 I was racking my brain for a while thanks for the video everything so far working great

Ive got this wheel,few simple mods,1st junk the clamps and drill four holes for sum big bolts with wing nuts underneath to clamp it better,2nd i took off cover and loosened(slightly!!!) the backing plate to the gears which really frees the wheel up,3rd shove sum foam behind the brake pedal or sum rubber or anything squishy to give the brake more feel. I built a wheel stand seat frame thing so i could mount it so there is next to no movement when wrenching on the wheel during slides etc

I plan to test the forces required on these and post the results on my site. However, I can tell you that the forces required for full braking when using the two purple bushings far exceeds that of the Clubsport or CSR Elite pedals. Great review guys! Thank you for the support!

Thank you for putting diclaimers and such in your reviews. Other people dont go over these details. Like you have to calibrate it everytime you start your pc etc etc. Awesome, just awesome.

A progressive spring has a spring rate that changes as it is compressed. A linear spring has one that does not change. For example, a linear spring that requires 10 pounds to compress 1" would require 20 pounds to compress 2". These bushings may or may not be linear, I need to check. As the hole closes when compressing, the spring rate does change. I will be conducting some tests to see.

There are basically 3 types of spring characteristics: Linear, progressive and degressive springs progressive means that you need a lot more force to compress the spring further, degressive means that it gets easier to compress the spring. and linear obviously means that it doesn't matter how much the spring is compressed, there is no change in the force you need to compress it further

I should have explained better. I didn't mean progressive for the accelerator, I meant a MOD that would create more resistance, especially when using shoes. The current breed of controllers (I own the T500RS) are better used with socks or slippers. Once you use shoes I find it much too hard to control the accelerator. Brake MODs are essential, if you don't use driving aids, feathering the accelerator is as important in my opinion. Cheers.

Ah ok. Yeah I use always wear socks but when the torsion springs broke in my pedals , I replaced them with slightly heavier ones as that was all I could find at the time. It has been helpful with some cars in iRacing too so I see what you mean. I'm using a similar mod to Bashers on my brake pedal too.

Thinking a shaker under foot plate for road feel and an electric caliper resisting pedal arm for anti lock brakes would be ultimate brake mod.

I also wanted to note: I don't make the bushings or have them made special for this. They are just very nice skate board bushings provided by RipTide. :)

I've been watching this show for a few years now and just thought I would give some props to Shaun, his speech has improved 100% over the last 6 months or so. Not that he was bad before, but his segments always seemed VERY scripted, making it somewhat awkward to listen too. Now the show feels alot more inviting!

Yea, but the pressure difference is so important. With the stock spring you may have a few kilograms to play with. With a load cell or progressive insert you have 0-30 in some cases 50 or even a hundred kilograms to play with. So afterall it is a PRO that you have 10 or more times of the scale for your musche memory.

Why not the same thing for the accelerator? IF the brake is modded it is probably better to use shoes, making it harder not to over-throttle. What's your take?

The idea of pushing down to what you feel is "full pressure" seems a little inelegant. Is their a way to put something solid in there to dictate the end of the throw for the sake of consistency? I do not own the T500 RS but am considering it. I'd also have to consider replacing the wheels on my chair with casters like bboymassUK says, as well as putting a shorter shaft on the TH8 RS shifter (as I'd be desk mounting).

Personally I think its easier to control throttle input with only light effort. I see where you are coming from but the pressure required to maintain 100% throttle would get old real quick. Also this mod and the standard T500 accelerator is similar to a real car. I have never driven a car with a progressive feel to the throttle !

i have a problem with my DFGT in GT5 my brake is always a little bit on(the red line that's shows how much you brake and gas) i always have to pull on the pedal to stop it until i break again . can you help me if you understand what i mean

the reason why im reluctant to upgrade to the t500 is because of its bad brake pedal. i currently run on the arc brake mod on my g27. how similar would you say this mod is to the arc brake on the g27 or maybe even the bodin mod? i just need some confirmation as to whether i can get that solid brake feel back if i do make the upgrade. thanks guys!

The brake pedal, even just using the mod that comes from the factory, is not so bad. I am far more disappointed by the clutch and gas pedals that have almost no resistance at all. Also, the latest pedals have compression springs below the pedal while older models had torsion springs. Compression springs are much better as they are easier to change for a stronger spring while torsion springs can also be sourced, they are harder to mount.

unfortunately my g27 has met its maker between my initial post and ur reply and i have already upgraded to the t500rs. i do agree that the brake mod that came with the set was better than expected. not as tough as i wanted it but enough to not get me over braking and locking up the wheels. but to be fair, thrustmaster chose to do the two way pedal set up so some gas and clutch feel will have to be sacrificed. im not saying its a good thing and i would be even happier if they just chose one set up and stuck with it so that we can get better resistances. sadly mine came in the white gt5 wrapping as supposed to the blue gt6 so im guessing my pedals use torsion springs :( the wheel unit tho is a great pleasure to use.

Skyhunter Yes it can.. but.. If you are using the full travel of the pedal, you're not braking efficiently.

This mod is junk, skip on this and get the Ricmotech load cell. Human Racing isn't even in business anymore, and BasherBoards also appears to be inactive. I wouldn't expect either to come back.
