Bruce discovers that the death of his parents was not his fault. Score and sound FX have been added, as well as some slight tweaking in the editing of the rough cut footage. Also, giant bats FTW.
Man just imagine if they made a brief cut with Young Jack Napier Joker from the first Batman film shooting and killing the Wayne's in cold blood then leading to the bat creature. It sends the message that "despite the horrible trauma you suffered from ur greatest enemy (Joker) and he's the cause of your desire to be Batman, you must also realize the bat wasn't there to hurt you, but to help you embrace your fears and help you forget what Joker did to you when you were a child that night. Turning a negative into a positive=Seeing the light
when i was a kid, i had a little book of the movie. and there was a picture of the giant bat from this scene, and i was so frustrated when i never found it in the movie. thanks for uploading.
For those who don't know, the Waynes went to see Zorro; Bob Kane admitted that Zorro was part of the inspiration for Batman (and the characters share a lot of the same motifs).
+ElTee842 Zorro, the shadow, dracula and sherlock holmes have been said to be inspirations for Batman as well.....Dracula due to the bats, Sherlock holmes for the detective, The shadow for the billionaire, and Zorro for the vigilante for the little guy
Man u know what would be the perfect icing on the cake on the part where he says "my fault" when he reads the book?; if they showed a short brief cut with Young Jack Napier Joker shooting the Wayne's from the first 1989 movie. Then leading to the big bat creature and embracing his fear along with it. Basically turning the negative memory (Joker) into positive motivation with the bat.
He repressed the memory of insisting on seeing a movie that night which he subconsciously always blamed himself for his parents death for, but, the second diary entry shows that his parents were heart-set on seeing Zorro so Bruce’s cartoon would have to wait til next week meaning that it wasn’t his fault as he wanted to be there at a different time to see something different or even be watching the cartoon at home, so it wasn’t his fault after all. Then the bat comes at him and as a child that scared him and he went on to use it as a symbol of fear and a way of hiding, but here he embraces it showing that he no longer uses Batman to hide, but rather accepts who he is and what he’s done and Batman can now be a symbol of good.
@@integrity101 Good to know. I will look in to that. It would be great if it was done officially however. They could eventually give it a limited theatrical run. I think it would be cool.
@@bestmoviesever1 No problem. If u are a fan of Christopher Reeve Superman also download the SUPERMAN REDEEMED film. Again just search "Superman Redeemed Download." Youll find a 2020 link in a comment section. It is S3 & S4 combined & condensed into one 90 minute coherent film that serves as the best Christopher Reeve Superman film not directed by Richard Donner.
I'm surprised this scene was removed. Granted, maybe the large bat parts could have been reshot if it detracted from the scene, but the whole subplot of Bruce reconsidering being Batman was so weak in the movie and this would have strengthened it.
That scene where he was looking into his past and found the red book would have made the movie interesting especially with Bruce and dick grayson relating to each other bruce trains him but they cut it for time joel Schumacher fucked up on that
Phillip Morley I’m not convinced it was his fault. I’m fairly certain studio interference ruined these movies just like it happens to this day. I mean look at these scenes. Schumacher directed them, obviously.
Although there are better Batman movies that have been made, Forever is better than people give it credit for. Had this scene made it to the theatrical version it would have made the film flow better and explain more things. To an extent this idea of facing fears would later be used in Batman Begins.
@Jake Bat Joel's Director's Cut does exist and it was 165 minutes long, It was SUPPOSED to be the Final Cut, but Warner Bros told him he HAD to deliver a 2 hour film and stabbed him in the back.
@lazytobi24 In a nutshell, it says (on his father's diary) that he and Martha wanted to stay at home, but Bruce insisted on seeing a movie. Knowing that he insisted on going out at the same night that they were killed, he keeps repeating to himself "all my fault".
Thus Young Jack Napier/Joker preys on the Wayne's in the shadows and shoots them dead in cold blood in the process. Since that night, his life has never been the same despite the fact he defeated Joker in the first movie 1989.
@leonard127 The actual script for the film didn't change much from the Burton proposal. Ive read the original screenplay from when it was supposed to be the direct sequel to Batman Returns... It's pretty much exactly the same, but Schumacher was forced to edit the film to 2 hours, when the screenplay called for a film almost 3 hours long. Fuck WB, they forced Joel to wreck a FANTASTIC screenplay.
Having read Dark Nights: Metal, now I'm compelled to theorize that giant bat may have been a manifestation of the demon Barbatos from the Dark Multiverse.
This movie would of been awesome if Jim Carrey wasn´t in it and Tomy lee Jones wasnt trying to emulate Jack Nicholson´s Joker... Scenes like this one shows that Schumacher had all the potential to do a Batman masterpiece on TDK´s league cause he is a great director (The Lost Boys, Flatliners, A Time To Kill, etc...) but he was just too dumb to do it. What a shame.
If you do cut this into a film, could you please upload an AVI torrent to Pirate bay as well as making a huge DVD version for FanEdit or whatever? Because I can never get those DVD files to work. I own Batman Forever on VHS and twice on DVD and the novelisation and some of the figures, so I think I should be allowed to illegally download it once.
fucking christ! WHY did they remove it from the movie!??? so creepy and still i got huge nerdchills all over... would have been a huge deal seeing that kind of background kind of information....
8 years later but here it is 😂 4pm- Bruce insists on seeing a movie tonight 5pm- Martha and I have our hearts set on Zorro, so Bruce’s cartoon will have to wait until next week. There is scenes cut from the movie that show Bruce was upset that his parents died but it wasn’t that that made him run away and fall down the cave and see the bat. It’s something he’s repressed for years ever since and that played in to the dynamic between him and Nicole Kidman’s character and him wanting to but not being able to open up to her. It turned out he had seen his fathers journal at the funeral and the entry that Bruce insisted on seeing a movie that made him blame himself, take the journal and run away and that’s when he fell in to the cave. He seen the bat flying at him, became scared and then later used Batman to put the same fear in to people he encountered. Now as an adult he went back to what made him become what he had, and he remembered that it was his fault.. then he seen that his parents made him see a different movie therefore it wasn’t his fault as his cartoon would’ve either been on tv at home or on at a different time at the movies so he let all the past go. Now when the bat flew at him again as an adult, he wasn’t afraid, he embraced it, showing that Batman wasn’t a symbol of fear anymore and a way for him to hide, but was a symbol of good and a part of him as a person.
