Batura is a traditional North Indian Punjabi classic bread savored with Chola - together called as Chola Batura. This is a spongy deep fried ..Bhatura is a soft leavened fried Indian bread made with flour, baking powder, oil and yoghurt. When fried, it puffs into a fluffy, chewy lightly browned bread is served with chickpea curry popularly called as Chole.

Ingredients
2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking pdr
3/4 cup curd
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sooji
Directions
In a bowl add flour, salt, baking powder, sugar mix well then add sooji, butter milk and use water also to
make a medium stiff dough
rest at least for 2 hrs
roll it into thin rounds fry in hot oil

Thank you so much for this recipe. I wish I had taken pictures of the bhatura I made. They puffed up really well. Made 8 bhatura from the 2 cups of flour. My family really loved it. I made a few changes. I didn’t have sooji so I omitted that. Instead of buttermilk I used yogurt. Since I there was a sour ingredient, I also used 1/2 tsp baking soda in addition to the baking powder. End results were fantastic.

I'm a hydrabadi, I love to cook food and wah recipes. What I liked in this video is the waf chef is using the ingredients that are easily available in the market. I saw Sanjeev Kapoors videos and think its better to use vegetables than to use sauces. I like all the wah chef recipes. Thank you very much. Keep it up!!!

Thanks. Just blend the curd into a liquid consistency with little of salt and some water. Its butter milk.
