I truly feel sorry for Jacob Kane for having all of his family turning up either dead or psychotic, especially Mary.

Wow when this show tries to make men seem like trash that they somehow made one (Jacob) the most likable and sympathetic. That's literally amazing.

As a former at risk kid, I would have told the writers they no jack about at risk kids, less about the world, and nothing about good writing.

i have never seen a episode of the show , i am just here to see thorias slowly loosing his mind.

Jacob getting kidnapped again reminds me of an episode of The Venture Bros. In the episode Hank and Dean are kidnapped and drugged, again, and when Hank wakes up in in their containment room he cynically and blandly says "well isn't this new and different".

I've lost track of how often I've thought this, but we're all very grateful to you for jumping on the Batwoman grenade for us, Thorias.

Bat TV magic, Luke teleported to save Batwoman and got 3 shots off simultaneously with one gun to hit the 3 bad guys! Batwoman and Mary ignores taking the man to a hospital and goes to the illegal clinic instead. They didn't know if medicine was there. Could have made his wounds worse. It would be ironic if Ryan taught martial arts to the At-Risk kids leads to them using this skill to rob people, then they are arrested and off to jail. The writers would have created a dilemma if they had black inmates go out and attack community centers if it led to early release. Show quickly made Mary a selfish jerk. Cosmetic company CEO/Black Mask is so smart to only have 2 people know how to make Snakebite. The writing is dumb.

Is Alice the only woman on this show who's not a lesbian? And knowing the writers of this show they probably don't consider her a villain for all the people she's killed. Nah what makes her villainous to these writers is the fact that she's "gasp" straight.

This episode was frustrating and comical at the same time. These writers were so on the nose with beliefs that they could read manifesto instead of a script. Everything in this episode was just plot said that we need to be here. It looks like they aren’t going to let Black Mask developed as character. Alice doesn’t really have anything to do with Kate gone right now. They got rid of Julia because her story isn’t anything unless she hooking up with Kate or Sophie. One thing I was confused on and I might not remember so well was an earlier episode where someone else was making Snake Bite that wasn’t Ocean or the girl friend drug dealer. I am not going back to check. The frustrating part was the fact that Jacob actually had that wonderful and tender moment with Mary before she opened her big mouth. It was great to see some genuine acting from him. Then Mary had to be worst than Kate and Alice together about how it is his fault that he didn’t save Beth. Mary was so condensing that she sounded like a twitter post than an actual person. I might be the only one that really felt bad for Jacob. The comical part was that CEO prison owner was that brash about wanting to shut down community centers. I couldn’t stop laughing because all this guy was missing was the ability to twirling his mustache if he had one. I could seen him a Dr. Evil villain. Plus the reveal was almost out of no where since they never introduced this character. Plus, they have to tack on gun owners are bad because our politics. On a separate note, I found a Batwoman Facebook group that asked the question why Batwoman viewership is so low. They think it is because of haters and RU-vid critics. These people think the writing and character is on point. I can understand why the writing doesn’t need to be anything more than what it is right now. Thank you Thorias for putting up with this shows and your reviews.

These characters are horrible, horrible people. And the fact that they are being portrayed as the heroes of the story is truly disturbing. I'm loving these reviews. I imagine the show is quite tough to get through, but I appreciate your sacrifice and the reviews are pure gold. Keep it up!

So, they retconned snakebite to be a trip down memory lane and a good ending instead of giving the injected an adrenaline high like the guy said in episode 4? Also, this could be used as a therapeutic drug or something a doctor uses to pacify a patient.

The only person that feels good about how bad this show has gotten is Ruby Rose. She can genuinely say - "Batwoman was better when I was in it.."

So based on your description and how you were explaining the episode, I actually thought Mary was going to..... A. blackmail Jacob into keeping her illegal clinic by threatening him with his drug taking Or B. Use the drug to somehow manipulate Jacob’s memory into forgetting he knew about Mary’s Clinic C. Jacob was going to be made that he only wanted to make the clinic legal only for the sole purpose of sneaking in the drug he’s taking, thus giving Mary the moral high ground because Jacob is a man. Now it just seems like Mary will find out, and somehow Mary will get what she wants as Jacob is a drug addict, so any moral ground Jacob holds is going to be gone since he’s doing something illegal.

If I was Jacob I would’ve told Mary to change your last name because she would no longer be my daughter

Here's an idea for Mary: finish your training, get a medical licence and open up a legal clinic; where you don't have to worry about getting arrested and thrown in jail for twenty years.

I'm always mystified as to why Ryan would even care one bit about Kate. I'm also mystified as to how no one figures out who she is. Although, in the batsuit, she looks like a really pudgy 8-year-old to me. I think they never show her running because she can't run. She's less athletic than Ruby Rose and that is saying something. The level of discontinuity within this show tells me there isn't a roundtable discussion (which there usually is) before an episode is filmed. I think they just make it up on the fly. They film pages that were written (maybe not even actually written down, just thought up) seconds before.

It's worse than the Crows never bringing back up! Also, any bets that Black Mask's daughter was the girl from the first season who was killing social media influencers? The one that Kate Kane left tied up and alone in an abandoned building? Alice showed up and cut her face off.

I once told my friend all about Batwoman. I told him about how awful the characters are, how badly they disgraced Batman's world, how terrible the heavy-handed messages are, and everything else wrong with the show. Then I told him to watch JLongBone's videos and you know what he said? I wasn't accurate enough.

Remind me again why we're suppose to care about Angelic? She might not have committed the murder but she's still guilty of being not only a drug dealer but she also helped make the damn drug in the first place. It can't be her personality is it because of her relationship with Ryan that has not only been toxic but only lasted two episodes. It's not like their aren't enough lesbians in this show hell I bet the only reason they brought in that new girl from the community center is to set her up as Ryan love interest for season 3 so i ask again why should i care about Angelic?

Considering that this show regularly preaches the incredibly toxic message that it's perfectly acceptable to break the law in a multitude of heinous ways if you can find a way to justify it somehow (i.e. Kate in Season 1 letting a teenage terrorist get away with nearly murdering hundreds of people and attempting to extort millions of dollars from the city simply because the teen terrorist in question was lesbian), showing it to at- risk kids could guide them even further towards a life of crime. 2. Mary the spoiled brat and all- around horrible, horrible person: "I'm gonna keep running my highly illegal medical practice, and the only way you can stop me is if you arrest me!" Me, if I were Jacob at that moment: "Alrighty. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law..."

Too bad the writers aren't competent enough or willing to make a woman seem in the wrong by justifying the suit having weaknesses because of all the alterations that have been done to it causing structural instabilities. Still want to know how this impervious suit was altered.

I have to say, after having watched many of your review videos, you are doing the lords work! Saving me at least from having to watch any of these shows, but making them entertaining to learn about, is beyond incredible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I gave up on CW shows after the 30th repeat of Arrow's origin story in the first couple years of that show. Again, thank you so much for doing this, even though I can see your soul withering away as you watch each one of these horrific pieces of entertainment.

If the writers knew a damn thing about Batman, right after Mary had her tirade Leslie Thompkins would have walked in the door and given her a dressing down of epic proportions. Its not like Mary's idea of a free clinic hasn't been a thing for decades in Batman or anything!

Being fair, from what I know on Black Mask, killing his own goons isn't anything new. The Batman saw him killing his own top henchmen and then just handing the responsibility over to someone else, valid reason or not. "You, you're my new number one."

Per prisoner at $150 per day just one peisoner with one full year is $54,750. That's insane! Imagine how rich someone would be at those rates. C'mon be realistic on costs.

Why would Angelique now agree to go into witness protection? Wasn't the reason she confessed because Black Mask threaten Ryan's life? The shooters of the Comish were killed but the threat on Ryan's life is still there. Did Angelique and the writers forget this?

Superman and Supergirl can fool people with a pair of glasses, so I don't think Ryan and Kate had much to worry about when it comes to secret identities.

Actually, a lot of real hospitals don't do all those things Mary was complaining about, either. For example, reporting overdoses -- neither my friends nor I ever had a hospital do that, and that's a good half-dozen overdoses all together. For another example, hospitals will still treat a wounded person without ID. Etc, etc. But they had to make the white hetero capitalist patriarchy look bad, so...

Don’t worry that the season is almost over. You always have season 3 to look forward to.

After last week I said Jordan was the worst character in the show, just completely cringe and tone death. Then this week came out and Mary, already being god awful, has to top it. I can’t mentally handle this show and how they make these garbage humans “heroes” or “icons” for being the absolute worst people in the world and just generally wrong. God damn this show had to find a way to become worse than season 1 without Kate in the main cast yet.

the actor Dougray Scott who plays Kate and Alice's father Jacob Kane gets tortured so much in this show its not even funny anymore. Stabbed multiple times, kidnapped multiple times, drugged, his wife died, his daughter who 'seemingly died' cosplayed as a hero but was really a villain, his other daughter been kidnapped for years turned out to be a homicidal maniac criminal, his wife died, his second wife turned out to be evil but also died by the hands of his daughter, his stepdaughter runs an illegal underground medical clinic and hates him because he told her its illegal. I think the only one that respects him is Sophie and she has her own problems.
