Mary's Poison Ivy cosplay looks like it's be in a more... adult version of Batwoman.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how Poison Mary's outfit has NO PLANTS on it? It's not like, you know, her main gimmick or anything...

When Poison!Mary showed up in that outfit at the end of the episode, I laughed so hard - and even more when she started talking like in a porno.

At this point I'm convinced the writers are making every decision specifically to target Thorias.

I love how the contract to appoint Markus as CEO was somehow binding, even though Ryan was being threatened by a murderer who just killed a security guard and beat Luke into unconsciousness.

Oh no they know about Gotham, they had a bad relationship and purposely left it out of Crisis, they repeatedly rip it off and even threw a jab at it in the first episode of season 3: "Don't let this turn into Jim Gordon's Gotham." I love that show so much, so watching this show immediately after it ended hurts

That whole blackmail hostile takeover of Wayne enterprises is basically a storyline from the Batman telltale game with black joker instead of fat free penguin.

If this was in a alternative universe where Jacob was Batman filling in for Bruce while being the main character with Mary becoming a knock-off Poison Ivy who’s constantly on the edge of being a villain and vigilante herself that Jacob would have to hunt down, that would make this scenario actually interesting, unfortunately that is not the show we got.

I'm sure the writers enjoyed having the scene of the cop foolishly walk in front of the RV to get driven over. Surprised they didn't put the RV in reverse to finish the job. So why couldn't Mary's special blood fight of the effects of turning her in to Poison Mary? Nice for Mary to still be loyal to her rewards card, when she just could have used mind control to get coffee for free. So easy to just write your resignation on a piece of paper and everything is passed over in a second. Didn't this show establish there is a board of directors? And where's the notary? Bridget Regan's agent couldn't find her a better gig? Fire this person.

Batman and Robin is something I can watch and find amusement in. Batwoman is something I can watch and ask myself "what were they thinking?"

Thorias's journey throughout this series already has better elements of a Joker story: A lone man trying to hold onto sanity and reason in the face of a world/show that continually defies it, with any reprieve being short lived and inevitably snatched away.

i realize the futility of pointing out reality and logic when it comes to this show, but when Ryan signed those papers it would have been under duress. Thus not legally binding. A smart, competent villain would have made the offer something he could take back if she decided to null the contract or gain some form of long term leverage over her. But, you know, your writers would have to know how to write first.

So how much of the anti-Kate conversation is a backhanded jab at Ruby Rose for calling out the showrunners?

This is what happens with characters in the Arrowverse. When they can’t find anything for that character to do, instead of writing them out like a real tv show and wishing the actor good luck, they find a contrived way to make them a comic character, hero or villain, with no prior connection to that character. Mary should have been booted once Jacob “What’d ya bring me?!” Kane was arrested. I’m genuinely surprised they haven’t made Alice into a female Joker at this point.

Batman and Robin may have been bad, but it wasn't hateful like this show. Mary looks like a knockoff costume you'd see at Spirit Halloween under the name "sexy poison" or something like that.

I have always loved Poison Ivy as a character in comics and the animated series. Then I saw Batwoman and mourned the death of a once beloved character. People talk diversity. You have a WOMEN, who is a clear powerful but doesn't have to mention girl power ever 5 minutes, and openly at least bisexual from how she interacts with men and women. She was a female character done right. She was messed up and brutal but you understood her motivations as a person, and condemned her as a villain. That is the secret sauce for writing great female villians. Today, it's either trying to force the audience to 100% love a character (or you are a bigot), or 100% hate a character just because they are the villain, without making either of them relatable or take the time to let the audience appreciate what makes them tick. As a reader, and audience member, you can load up a scene with 100 no name overpowered villians with no backstory vs a scene with one very well defined villian with terrifying motivations and the means to beat the hero, and I will find that solo villian much more intriguing. Poison Ivy was that character for me.

Villains of the '90s power rangers had a much smaller budget and still looked better than Batwoman's.

The writers of Batwahmen put Akiva Goldsman on a pedestal, because he is the gem writer of Batman & Robin as well as one of the people ruining Star Trek with Alex Kurtzman. He is a God amongst writers to Caroline Dries, so that is why they’re putting so many Batman & Robin nods…. Presumably.

She’s not poison ivy, she’s going to end up being Thorn or if they are feeling like stealing more from cannon and really fcking it up she’ll be Rose or Hazel. Because the older looking chick they tapped for the real Ivy is still being talked up. This will be their gotcha twist for the first episode back from mid season break.

I'm surprised they put Mary in such a tight, short, provocative sexualized outfit when they are very pro-feminist on the show. I struggled to finish watching this one, the only thing that kept me going was the thought of a Thorias video after.

So, a female doctor who starts off the show as a good person on the superhero team but is then randomly turned into a super villain that has a split personality, fights the main hero for a while, but then gains some control of her senses and will go on as part of the team with a slit edge to her. Gee haven't seen that before. Actually, I have, I saw it on The Flash with Catilyn Snow five years ago, I know the Arrowverse likes to recycle character types and plotlines... so I'm actually not surprised.

Five seconds of internet searches shows me a ton of Poison Ivy cosplayers who made way better costumes than that one.

A new episode of Batwoman premiered, as usual the abysmal writing leaves me full of questions. Why didn't the doctor put Marquis under sedation while he was been frozen? Why didn't Mary and Alice just rob a blood bank instead of wasting all that time at the bar.

The writing on this show really is strange. A woman who is a bartender/barrista becomes the president of a multi billion dollar company…not only that but the best president ever…(doesn’t the board of directors have any say? This president quits and hands off to another 20 something kid?) A valedictorian med student skips any residency training and opens her own practice right out of med school? Personally I don’t want my doctor straight out of med school, I want my doc TRAINED a little.

I didn’t mind Batman and Robin’s Poison Ivy. What i didn’t like was what they did to Bane it’s just inexcusable!

Just a small point ....................... the murdered security guard, the murdered doctor and the likely murdered cop must have been straight, otherwise the show's writers wouldn't have dared to kill them off so easily. That being the case, then "Straights Getting Killed" needs a green tick as well!
