Every time I watch one of your videos, my "to read" list gets longer. I love your channel.

Richard Ovenden's book contains a mistake in reasoning: On the one hand, Ovenden emphasizes the need to concentrate the knowledge of mankind in archives and libraries in order to preserve it, and then, on the other hand, provides numerous examples of how this centralization of the Knowledge led to large bodies of knowledge being wiped out. Books are wonderful media to organize knowledge decentrally. The decentralized organization of knowledge in private libraries is what allows our knowledge base to survive. In my opinion, the internet also means that knowledge is centralized rather than decentralized.
