The biggest thing I hear from guys just starting out is "How do I stop the itch?". That's usually a great way to introduce them to beard oil. I've been known to give out a free bottle of Honest Amish now and then. I also point them here. One guy recently told me, "I always thought having a beard would be easier than shaving every day. I was wrong, but in a good way." Keep it up, Dan. Great video.
I just retired from the military, so halfway through life but brand new to facial hair. I’ve subbed to the channel and learned a fair bit from several of your videos; thanks for all the great information and reviews. I appreciate your attention to detail, editing style, and your integrity. Thanks!
Started beard oil the second day I didn’t shave. Learned alot last year watching your videos and using what I learned. Just started beard butter when my beard started showing length almost 1/2 inch. You can start earlier but was waiting until I could feel the hairs getting a little rough. Within a few days my beard was completely soft and started being able to train the hairs to go where I want them. I didn’t start oils and butters until 6 months into the last growth and can tell a difference this time
New beardsmen and people interested in beards have found the right place! Dan C has beard information from A to Z and will always respond to questions! Thanks Dan for being the trusted teacher and doing all you do! 👏💪👍🔥🍻
I ordered a bar of Bearded Mack tropical storm last week after seeing it on one of your vids, I really like the scent and how gentle it is. Thanks, Dan. 👊
Thanks Dan. Great beginner info new guys can start with right away with a path forward without feeling like its necessary to immediately watch hours and hours of video - time a lot of guys might not have.
Good morning Dan C, and this amazing bearded community. Another great video. This formula from the very beginning and the advice that I’m giving here. I’ve been able to put together a great formula and I’m pretty disciplined these days with how to apply one to apply and the products that I use and what works best for not only my skin, but for my beard hair. As my skin has told me I stay clear of the balms, and wax. Again, thanks for all the advice Dan, and family. And certainly the learning process I’ve been able to follow.
Love that RU-vid transcribes your name in the Closed Captions as Nancy Bearded. But I've learned alot from you- in fact, I'm very inspired to start my own beard product line. I'm not really with alot of the Nordic and Arayan themed beard products and alot of brands have Argan that my wife is allergic to, so I love brands like The Bearded Mack but so many brands leave my beard oily and greasy, no matter how much I use or don't use.
I made many mistakes (had a beard for a long time, that was based on just being lazy at first after 20 years of clean shave) when growing my beard, I've been correcting those thanks to you and now have a skin/beard care routine that is on par with my teenage daughter but I clearly see the difference in the "health" of my beard. Thanks man for all your videos!
Thank you so much for a quick intro to beard products! I'm a trans person with facial hair for the first time in my life and I have started asking the people around me what to do and where to go. I am currently adding your channel to my list of info!
The part about new people wanting a shorter video! Exactly why i clicked on this vid😂 also every other search result had some mangled beards talking about "i can help you" 😂😂😂
I have taken to using beard butter as a mid-day refresher if needed. On days where I was working outside but don't have time to shower quite yet, or if I smoked a cigar. Whenever I want that smell bump up, but don't want to go to the effort of wetting my beard for a fresh shot of oil, hit it with a touch of butter.
@dan I was talking over this stuff with new beardsmen (I call them green beards) and I described beard oil like this, “beard oil is a misnomer. Beard oil is actually skin oil for bearded people”. The green beards really had an “ah ha!” moment.
Colin here. Bahawat has just come out with a beard wash and I wanted to know if you have tried it? My favorite beard products come from Bahawat and Beard Octane.
2:50 i feel like if have to apply butter with an open palm (to intentionally avoid getting to the skin) then you can probably wait till its longer to use butter :)
Man I been using Jamaican castor Oil on my beard… not sure how effective it is and I actually wasn’t sure what beard butter was for so I was using it all wrong lol … I really appreciate your video man
Thanks Dan - love the videos. I’ve had a beard for most of my adult life but only since last year been growing it out - your tutorials have really helped me understand how to care for it and maintain it - I’m loving the look so thanks…! My question is: I holiday during the summer at beach spots and spend loads of time in the ocean. The salt water makes my beard feel quite hard and almost brittle. What advice do you have for care of my beard when I’m spending loads of time in the ocean. Cheers man
Colin again. I use beard butter at night. Thought about purchasing leave in conditioner from beard octane. When would I put the leave in conditioner in if I put oil in during the day and butter at night?
Conditioner should be used after beard wash. The amount will depend on how big/long your beard is. My amount is 3 pumps with a conditioner that has a pump.
Thank you so much! And no, I do not use leave-in conditioner anymore. Here is a video explaining why: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qYhgpTxpZPc.html
Hi man, I started to watch your videos and I'm pretty familiar with all the beard products and how to use them properly also thanks to you. However, there is one of them that i can't find online, which is the "beard butter", everytime the results on internet shows me balms instead, so please if you can recommend me where i can shop the butter would be awsome.
Here is a video on the different washes: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iiEkuFKOh0c.html Duke cannon actually has a good daily/gentle wash. I do not recommend their oil though.
Hi Dan, I have a touch-up question.. Often I find after a couple of hours in the day, my beard sometimes looks dry or out of shape. Not always in the possibility of washing or rinsing.. Can I apply oil, butter or wax straight on the beard? Is it ok if I only dampen/spray it with some water?
Hi Dan! I have a question, some strands of hair that have a “crinkle cut fry” structure that feels hard and rough. Is this damage or is this just textured hair?
This is Colin, Amy’s husband. I have been using Nivea face wash on my face. Then I use beard octane Lcw wash, ginger jamboree scent. My question is will this Nivea face wash harm my beard?
How long after applying beard oil should I apply the butter at night? And if my beard isn’t damp anymore should I wet it a little or will that remove some of the oil?
Good morning Dan, when or how often do you trim a new beard? 10 months in on growing my beard and the fly aways and frizzies are killing me. I don't want to trim too often though... Help!!
Hi his starting uses most products on my beard I use beard shampoo then conditioner beard oil then balm over day out over 2 days I’m I doing it right ?
so i am 21 years old and just stopped shaving a few weeks ago and started to take care of the skin and beard area of my face daily is there any tips you would recommend to promote faster and healthier growth
The perfect general beard product knowledge video hands down!! 💯 If any of you have a beard question, just type in the search bar “Dan C Bearded…” …then your question. Works every time! 😉👊🤘
I've seen some famous brands put on their websites and product labels "...to soften and condition your beard and skin underneath" to balms and butters 😅 Maybe it's just me, but as much as I love their product and results, reading that makes me trust them a little bit less :(
I don't use beard wash but I do use Jack Black face wash and do wash my face and beard twice a day. I will start only washing my beard once a day after work thanks for the advice. Is Jack Black face wash considered a type of beard wash??
Hello! I’m a teenager who has been growing out my beard for about a year now (I don’t have the best genetics) so it’s still quite short. My parents are forcing me to shave it but I want to keep it. They are saying it’s too frizzy and it makes me look very unpresentable. I use beard oil and beard balm but it doesn’t seem to help the frizz enough. Any suggestions or videos I should watch? Thanks so much!
Hello Dan! New subscriber and beard grower here! I was wondering if you happened to review Live Bearded's Beard Serum? Been trying to find something about it but it doesn't seem to be commonly reviewed, if at all.
Could you possibly revisit beard braiding? In concerns of beard health, loose braid/tight braid, pros and cons and maybe even a how-to for those that don't know how to braid. I recently started braiding everyday after my shower: 1) Oil the beard and wait five minutes. 2) Aberlite Pro heated beard brush to straighten it. 3) Loose braid. 4) Viking beads attached to the end for flair. I wanted to know if this would damage my beard or not.
I just hit my two week mark of not shaving. (I already had a short neck/chin beard but finally got the mustache grown in) I never thought about using beard oil or anything like that before. So I’m looking forward to finally starting. Thanks for a really informative video… it was the first in my search!
OMG, I'm glad I caught this video. I have been using my fingers to work the butter down to the skin. So, what would be the negative aspect of reaching the skin? Like clogging pores, maybe.
Dan when you said look up the other videos on your channel I recently did a marathon of your videos and enjoyed every minute of it and helped me a lot I think I'm gonna have cancel netflix because I stopped watching it 😂
If there is damage you can see and/or feel, such as split ends or knots… then you need to get rid of the damage. Otherwise, start here and see how it goes!
This might be better to ask during a Q&A but have you reviewed any Canadian brands for beard products? Im getting reamed by the shipping always ordering from the US
I totally agree with using beard wash & beard oil right away. I am a bit different when it comes to butter, though. My skin is very dry and really likes when I use a wax-free beard butter on both the hair & skin. I don't get clogged pores or negative skin issues and it helps keep my skin nourished.
Hello, I am starting my beard growth, only 1 to 2 inches long. I'm in the UK, what products would you recommend, struggling to find the best as they all quote to the be the best. Found you on here and I have watch a few of your vids which have been very helpful ao thank you.
@@DanCBearded Thanks Dan, I have bought the whole setup I need after watching about 6/7 of your videos, you have made my beard journey so much easier so thank you for all the info you provide. Got my sub 👍🏼
Oh man, that’s tough! It would be either of these: Beard Octane= beardoctane.com/DANC * DANC10 = 10% Doctor Nicks= www.doctornicks.com/danc * DANC = 15% off
I still love watching your videos. You have helped me so much, but even after growing my beard for a couple of years, I still learn things from you - like conditioner in the beard to just use in the beard and not the skin. This is a new one for me! Thank you as always !
In the short I have been watching you I’ve learned so much. I have tried a couple place for beard care products. Really taking advantage of samples from live bearded and badass beards. I really love their beard wash. My question is I should only use the wash once a week and the hog wash daily? And do all beard washes give you that tingle when you wash with the hog wash as you do with the beard wash? I love the beard wash but from watching your videos I think I’m using it to much.
