My brother owns a cel from that Aladdin film that he got as kind of an in-joke. Our grandma mistakenly got us that one when we were kids thinking it was the Disney film and we actually watched it a lot but always laugh about it now. To add to the joke the cel of the flesh-colored genie is framed with a background of the palace from the actual Disney film.

Fun fact. Nowhere in the poem of Humpty Dumpty is he described as an egg. In fact, a Dumpty, according to historians, was a medieval cannon that was placed on the battlements of, you guessed it, walls. The poem makes a lot more sense now.

Another funny thing about Cam Clarke voicing D’artagan is that he also voiced Dogtanian in the English dub of Dogtanian And The Three Muskehounds

I love Phelous's disdain for Old Man. Even Wabuu garners more respect.

The good times never end with Goodtimes when Phelous decides to rip into them.

That hyper realistic Cinderella joke with the Old Man really got me good.

This was a goldmine of everything we love about Phelous, from the running gags and recurring characters to the faces he makes. This felt like a special of some kind.

Phelan taunting us with our love for certain Old Man lines never ceases to be classic. 😆

This is weird. Phelan’s channel is… kind of hard to describe, you know ? “So what does this guy make videos about ?” “Oh, you know… mostly shitty kids movies based on old folk tales… as well as shitty horror movies, but that was a long time ago.” “Oh, okay !” “He also does weird reviews of bootleg toys.” “O-oh, does he, now…” “Yeah ! As well as reviews of reviews of his reviews !” The confusion is endless.

07:54 - “Do I really want to see this??” An all too common question asked by kids and parents subjected to these type films. But as long as Phelous and Old Man are reviewing them then the answer is an emphatic YES!!!

y'know, i still think Goodtimes' Beast could actually work as a legit non-Disney design of the character if given a bit of fine-tuning.

I had a tape as a kid that had Greedy Humpty Dumpty on it. I remember learning to make pancakes, and came to associate the cement mixing with pancake batter. Never thought I'd see that short reviewed, so thank you!

Oh man, I actually had this VHS as a kid! So many memories. Never knew that Cam Clarke was Aladdin in that movie until I saw your video on Aladdin.

Funny thing is that you're eventually going to have to do a full review of Sinbad and Three Musketeers if you're ever going be finished with all the Goodtimes movies.

Fun fact: There was another “& friends” dvd with freaking Captain Harlock, produced by EastWestDVDs. Because an anime (which I’m pretty sure has a horrible comedy dub for some reason) which has killing in it goes well with Clutch Cargo cartoons.

I refuse to believe that these incarnations of Aladdin, Beauty, or the Beast have any “Friends” to speak of, let alone enough to warrant an “And Friends!” edition of their tales. However, these tapes are nothing short of pure magical madness! Thank you so very much for sharing the insanity of these cartoons with us, Phelous! Although I’m fairly certain that this version of Humpty Dumpty will become a new addition to my menagerie of sleep paralysis demons, along with those creepy-ass gnomes from the Cinderella short (I’ll be wearing two pairs of socks to thwart Foot Fetish Gnome from here on out). Wherever do you find these videos, Phelous?? Geeez, all these narration bits just make it feel like those dull trailers for animated features that would appear at the beginning of VHS tapes, didn't realize just how much I truly hated them until the dialog triggered it here. But, hey, worth it for another encore of Old Man Phelous.

Today, as I woke up, I was not expecting to see a version of Cinderela in which the stepsisters beat the shit out of her. Wtf, 1930's!

Those "Bugs Bunny & Friends" and "Daffy Duck & Friends" must've been really awkward for the parents who bought them for their kids. The Bugs Bunny one has "All This and Rabbit Stew", which pitted Bugs against a hunter in blackface; while the Daffy Duck one had "Daffy the Commando", which ends with Daffy beating up Adolf Hitler.

You know it's a good day when Phelous reviews crappy animated movies and cartoons! Also that Humpty Dumpty gave me the creeps as a kid and I still find him unsettling as an adult

You know what, this just makes me want a full Goodtimes Sinbad review. I actually have somewhat fond memories of this one.

There was a Sindbad anime from 1975 that was pretty good. Gave me a lot of early Dragon Ball vibes, since it's about a small boy being on magical adventures. Only Sindbad would more rely on his brains than his brawns.

Even with cheap edits and unneeded narration, Phelous still finds a way to make us laugh. Also, I'm glad you mentioned that Looney Tunes 'Carnival of the Animal' special. I loved watching that as a kid and it's still amusing to this day.

Ah dang it! When I saw Cinderella, I was legit thinking about the other animated version of Cinderella (the American Film Investment/early Golden Films version one)

All the animal abuse in that Cinderella short really doesn't surprise me at all. Even Mickey Mouse cartoons from that era were loaded with animal abuse. Just look at Steamboat Willie. For some reason, that was just a thing in the 20's-30's era of animation...

I could watch an entire video of you just going down a history rabbit hole about VHS releases. Some of these stories about the history of these releases are equal parts hilarious, inspiring and eye rolling at the same time. Also the history is just fascinating in general

My mom got me "Rudolph and Friends" for Christmas when I was little. It was what you expected as Phelous said, but on the plus side, it had the really good Chuck Jones animated rendition of "A Christmas Carol" included, so that was nice.

I'm a bit at odds here, because this is much the perfect Phelous video. It has all of his signature gags: the looping animation, the line redubbing, the callbacks to previous reviews, the catchphrases, the continuation of a previous-episode gag, even Old Man has a legit part in it... but I know that if I recommended this video to someone they'd be confused as all hell.

I had "A Coach for Cinderella" on a public domain cartoon compilation tape growing up. It cut off immediately after Cinderella smiles at her offscreen car. Personally I'd watch the HELL out of whatever soap opera that the gossipy spiders star in. (Has to be more entertaining than lazily-abridged Goodtimes movies.)

Ever since your Aladdin video, I legit thought they stole that music from the Disney Beauty & The Beast. "Get the hell out of here, foot fetish gnome." I never knew I needed that phrase in my life, but now it is indispensable.

I remember Carnival of Animals from the Babe coming to vhs promo trailer from some of the Land Before Time video tapes, of course as a kid I never knew the name of the music piece.

I know I've seen that Greedy Humpty Dumpty on a cartoon collection DVD somewhere, along with a mixed bag of other shorts. I totally lost it during the Three Musketeers bit, though, seeing D'Artagnan repeatedly knocked on the head in the exact same way! I sprayed my tea! 🤣
