When editing I noticed a small fiber on the swan neck. But I think it was laying on the crystal because I can't see it now as I handle the watch. Overall SUPER clean and a treat to film
@@BruceWilliams Hi! Congrats on a great watch. And just an FYI, it’s “Paneristi” as in “Becoming a Paneristi” not Paneristo 😀 Congrats again...great video!
Two handed watches always reminds me of my favourite Lou Reed quote......”one chord is fine two chords is pushing it and three chords, well that’s jazz”
Great video on a great watch...! I purchased my Pam 176 about 10 years ago and the watch has been incredibly reliable, I love the size, the cleanliness of the dial with the sandwich dial and being over 50 it really helps with the larger numbers to read and tell the time. Congratulations!
Great pick up, looks flawless. I recently got a 2004 PAM111 with the older "Panerai" engraved ETA movement. Love it. It was in pristine condition so must've been refinished but done well. I ended up with 3 OEM straps, the dark brown Assolutamente looks the business.
Awesome video Bruce. I really like Panerai, there is nothing like them. The one you've got is a stunner, especially since you can see the nice movement.
Seems like there’s an increase in love for Panerai lately. Having tried one in store pre Covid, I understanding why. Stunning watches, stunning visuals here as usual too. Keep up the good work! 👍
Welcome to the owners club and congrats! What is great is how a simple strap change can completely re-invigorate excitement about the same timepiece. Happy strap hunting 😀
Panerais are beautiful and so underrated, I have a PAM1312 but am looking to add a nice Bettarini too, you definitely opened my eyes for the 176! Such a sweet watch
Great video, thank you. Awesome intro. Been looking at this brand for a while, particularly the PAM 111. This one you chose is awesome, nice and light with the titanium. Probably super easy to wear. I may have to rethink the direction I am going here.
I somehow missed this when it came out. Funny, because I just picked up a white dial 114 LE. I'm glad mine has the minute indices, but the rest of your review is spot on! I never even thought of Panerai, but my hunt for a 📦 ✔ white dial over 40mm as a jeans & brown leather GADA took over. I'm thinking this might be my 1st ever "keeper". Thanks again for sharing your journey!
I found myself there barely a year ago and took the leap. I don’t regret it. I actually got a 176 like the one in the video. Panerai has unique features and simplicity that demand a certain level of gained maturity to properly appreciate.
I have my PAM312 for over an year. Absolutely stunning watch. I believe you'll appreciate this beauty! Just bought my second Panerai - PAM112. Hope to experience the same feelings!
Enjoyed this review. My Panerai journey commenced with a Luminor Marina 240 in Titanium, and that brushed case finish gave it a real tactical look. Then on to a Radiomir 183H wire lugs for a more historic piece, slim and dare I say elegant! Then recently I walked by a grey market dealer who had a used 2005 Pam LM logo in the window, sad and neglected but with box and papers. I had to free this from its window prison, I purchased it and off it went to the Panerai service centre in Milan, under 4 weeks with them and returned in pristine condition to be one of my daily wears. Enjoy yours ( by your body language in the review you are already!!) .
Picked up my first Panerai up Saturday ( Submersible Amagnetic - 47mm PAM01389) and I love it! I have other brands (Rolex, 2 Omegas, and Breitling) and this by far is my favorite watch! Nice choice!
That's why I went with a Hamilton for $400 instead of a Panerai for $4000. I just couldn't justify spending TEN TIMES the price on a watch that uses essentially THE SAME SWISS ETA MOVEMENT! lol I do still dig the 'sandwich' dials though... And now that Panerai started offering their own 'in-house' movement they've become a bit more desireable, however the price also went up along with the introduction of their unique movement.
Fantastic intro Bruce. Keep up the great work. As a long time follower it is great to see the progress in your content. I own the same reference Speedmaster. I know you prefer bracelets, but you owe to yourself to try the OEM alligator with deployment buckle. It’s going to cost $610, but I don’t even consider the bracelet anymore.
I've had this on wrist twice. I never thought I'd be drawn to the titanium but I loved it. I was also surprised that i preferred the 44mm to the 42mm pams on my 6.7 inch wrist. No room in the rotation at the moment luckily $$$
Just got my first Pam. The minimalist dial always spoke to me. I never would have thought I love the Bettarini case so much. This is my grail watch. To those who don’t like Panerai, that is okay. I like my Pam00796 a lot! And many Panatisti like their watches as well.
Surprised with such a significant investment that many customers scrap the box and receipts. Hanging onto everything from a Panerai PAM 00321 purchase.
Beautifully composed and crafty worded review. Great job! Congratulations on a find of your dream! You deserve it... I would pick exactly same model with exactly same case finish. Good taste! Rubber strap - green or black. Leather (hate crocodile) but other times work well for Panerai, but impractical in hot climate with sweat issues... $5000 US for a utility watch - is a lot of money, I would always feel that I paid too much and was ripped off... Sweeping seconds hand is a must for me - it is a run of time for me and any watch looks dead for me (tower clock is the only exception). Great watch!!! Overvalued in my opinion...
You seriously have my dream collection. Speedmaster, rolex would be day date and vacheron constantin overseas 🙌 currently have panerai in my collection pam00927 and I love it
Even though it's a time only watch, you can guestimate the time pretty well, I'd say to the nearest 30 seconds on these watches. You get to the point where you can eyeball the minute hand pretty well. I have a PAM 000, of similar vintage.
I just picked up my first PAM after 14 years of collecting. Never thought I would own one but I came around to it. My tastes right now include clean dials, symmetry, time only, unique but conservative (if that makes sense), and some brand pedigree. I have 17cm wrist and was always afraid of the size. I picked up a PAM773 - Luminor Base Logo - and I'm absolutely loving it too. The OEM rubber is simply amazing. If you avoid the 1950s case, the 44mm Luminor is quite wearable. The PAM joins my Speedy FOIS, OP36, and BB36 in rotation. Funny enough, I traded a Medium sized Reverso for the PAM, pretty dramatic different right?
Picked up this exact same model used from Japan this week. My first high end swiss watch and just love how unique and clean it is. Dwarfs my other watches but it's not afraid to be its own distinct self, a keeper for sure
The movement in your Luminor is fantastic, Bruce. Congratulations! I love 2.5 and 3Hz old pocket watch movements like the 6497/8 family, they can be made very accurate with regulation and they can go longer between services owing to the lower beat frequency
Na, I have one and am completely content and only want the one as it was carefully thought out and selected. The strap game keeps it fresh for me. I don’t get those who get multiple pieces that are vastly similar, I like variety in my collection.
Big congrats Bruce & welcome to the brotherhood of Paneristi! My PAM111 is also a classic ETA time-only piece and I own it since 5 years now. I tought about selling it multiple times but in the end I could never do it! And I'm so glad that I never did! Your green strap fits perfectly the Ti case of hits model! Have lots of fun with it, Bruce! Btw. the leather straps are made by Hirsch, at least for a long time. Some of the original leather straps even have the "Made in Austria" stamp on it. But I don't know if this is still the case for modern Panerai watches.
Congrats, Bruce, nice watch. Great review, also, thanks. Been eyeballing the 0111 longest time. Guy at a shop 45 min from my house had one. Stripes, not Panerai Panerai Panerai cross the plates. Boxes, papers, full service if I paid what he listed, which was a fair price. I waited too long and someone snagged it. UGH! Lost interest after that. Oh well.
Something about old Italian designs... I'm on my 2nd classic Ducati 🏍️. Do like the Panerai, but for the money I'd get another bike. Good review, nice piece. Like the lack of seconds, more laid back. Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Great vid and great watch! Im a proud italian owner of a Radiomir 210, historical collection was and will always be the best of Panerai line, modern references kind of lost the magic. Panerai is passion and loyalty to the history. Btw, It's panerista, non paneristo 😉 evviva Panerai, passione e tradizione! Ciao da Torino, Italia!
Hola Bruce!, How do you decide which watch to wear for the day?. I have two dressier pieces which I use Monday to Friday and for the weekend depending on the activity (sport, beach, going out, ...), I travel quite frequently, then I pick my GMT. I believe that would be interesting for a video. Greetings from Spain!!!.
I had two Panerai. I also had three Mosers. I’m actually turning my entire collection over this year with four pieces coming in, one per quarter. I don’t have keepers either.
