You messed up using Chronicles translations… “gods of destruction” not one “god of destruction”. They’re comparing Black Frieza to all gods of destruction.
Japanese here, all this confusion about goku being 70% as strong as beerus was due to a translation error in battle of the gods. In the japanese version beerus clearly states he used "about 1%" of his power to fight god goku. Why the american company hired to do the translation decided to change the original dialog is beyond me.
To be honest even if it was just 1% of his power they should’ve far surpassed beerus even by the universe 6 tournament. (In the show at least) Bare minimum KKSSGSS Goku would be 500x stronger than what he was when he fought beerus. Beerus is just moving goal post really and I’d like to see or hear some about his training so that I’d be okay with that moving goal post. But they just tell us he naps all the time.

@@BrocktaviusKingofNFC how? If Goku matched up to 1% of Beerus then he gets a minimum of a 500x boost in the next couple of arcs he would surpass Beerus at the time they originally fought. Beerus only really napped between that time so theoretically at that point in the story he should’ve been stronger.
Whis was always infinitely more powerful. The guy is an Angel. They’re in a tier of their own that even gods of destruction, goku, and Vegeta will never reach.
I was honestly hoping that beerus who has trained with whiz for millions of years now wasn't going to be easily surpassed by a couple of saiyans who have only trained decades. eventually he will be surpassed, but not so quickly, it wouldnt make sense for such an ancient older prehistoric being.
The manga continuity shows things in a different way, it clearly indicates that Beerus is yet to be surpassed as they keep pushing him higher and higher. Anime clearly shows Beerus being surpassed by the end of the anime. There are too many hints in the anime that indicate this. Of course, they might retcon this stuff when anime returns... i hope they do not. Manga should be its own thing, i like to follow both, and i was pretty much enjoying the anime and its own continuity. Manga has some better stuff but also sucks in some other stuff.

I think Beerus just lies to Vegeta and Goku a lot to motivate them to become stronger. It's likely that when they reach a specific point one of them will take his job and he will retire. He's probably training them for that, but specifically since Vegeta is tapping into Ultra Ego as a direct result of Beerus's training, it is likely in the future he will surrender his position to Vegeta. Will they surpass him? Not as mortals. But if they are granted prolonged life, the capability to live billions of years, they too will surpass him by a colossal margin.
Honestly some people are just in pure denial. Some try to say Granola was stronger than Beerus, and even after I point out that the dragon said he'd only be strongest "apart from the gods", they'd act like the dragon is capping. The denial is crazy.

I've said it years ago that until beerus is explicitly stated to have been surpassed or beaten by Goku or vegeta that he would continue to be the strongest, powerscalers can't wrap their heads around narrative and that Toriyama does not care about scales he had no involvement in. Every arc its the same question being asked about beerus, until its addressed in the story just assume every villain is below Beerus and the GoD, All the jiren hype was only from him being above belmod that's it and all the UI hype died after we saw it lose like 4 or 5 separate times, same goes for UE.
The thing is, Vegito in the future trunks arc was stated to be as strong as Beerus in vjump, and Goku and Vegeta have vastly gotten stronger than that Vegito.
@@joshuaaboo4767Expect Vjump was contradicted by toyotaro himself in an interview when he was asked about vegito being stronger or as strong as beerus and he says "We don't really know" and that's not the first time Vjump was wrong neither. So this is why what I said applies until beerus is either beaten by Goku and Vegeta or explicitly stated in the manga to have been surpassed he will continue to be above them.
Beerus was actually trying against the other god of destructions and taking damage if he was that much stronger than them he would have clapped all of them at once. Belmod was playing around and took no damage
No, Belmod straight up played possum while all the Gods laid out haymakers on each other. He clearly didn’t think he could beat them in a blatant fight.
No Belmod couldn’t take 11 them all at once but neither could beerus. He’d struggle against any of them 1 on 1 and actually have to try. Even champa gave beerus trouble.

Beerus was damaged and exhausted before the grand priest stopped the fight. All 11 of those gods would give beerus a far tougher fight then he ever had with goku and vegeta. Champa and him breaking reality just be trading blows and whis and Vados had to stop it.

Uh, they hold a lot of power on Dragon Ball. According to VJump Frieza Black form and Ultra Ego is non canon until they decide, which is why you haven’t seen their form in any media outside of the manga.

Multiple training segments where through character feats and previous fights, Goku gets dozens of times stronger from blue alone. Then can stack x20 Kaioken on top. So even at this point we're talking thousands of times beyond God. And MUI even just in the ToP is at least a hundred times beyond Kaioken x20. And in the manga his progress is just as immense. Hundreds of thousands of times stronger than his start of super God form, extremely conservatively.

Beerus is just a badly written character, he's been written to be surpassed so many times and then retconned to being stronger again later, the writers just genuinely have no idea what to do with this guy and it shows, he exists to do nothing but hype up other characters with comparisons to himself, and to give Goku and Vegeta a teacher in whis, he's just boring and a bad thing for the story, he kills all tension and creates confusion with comparisons to himself that end up being lies because of bad writing.
you're overreacting, Beerus has lived for millions of years and trained with an Angel for so long, it wouldn't make sense for him to get surpassed so easily by a Saiyan who just started, also it's all about the story, not power scaling, the writers will do what fits the story more.

Or you’re just wrongly cross-referencing the Early Movies, Anime and the Manga. In the Manga, UI during the ToP was weaker than his Anime counterpart. It was unable to defeat Jiren, whereas in the Anime, Jiren needed a power up to even match UI and still lost. Not to mention that the scaling put forward in the Original Movie Battle of Gods was not put in the Manga and Anime adaptations. Therefore, Beerus was not “retconned” to be stronger. He was never surpassed in the Manga in the first place. In the Anime, he was if we take Whis’ statement at face value and not count it a him trying to poke fun at Beerus for losing at arm-wrestle. And the Broly movie only has Goku’s statement, which cannot be taken seriously given that he never saw nor fought against Beerus’ true power, and can only be seen as Goku making a comparison between the Beerus he fought and Broly LSSJ. - Also, a Good character is not measured by his/her importance in the story, but by his/her characterization, development, and growth. He has been superbly characterized, Averagely developed, and has undergone some kind of growth ( as the Beerus from Battle of Gods is not the exactly same as the Beerus now ). Therefore, for DB standards, he’s not a bad character by any means. He may not be the best, but not the worst either.
I think what a lot of people are forgetting too is that beerus has pretty much always shown his abilities in his base form. Dragon ball is a show full of power ups and advancements. I'm pretty sure beerus has at least 1 power up that he hasn't used yet
3:35 I disagree when he took no damage in that brawl and was able to hold down all the GoDs at once at a certain point. I don't really see a argument for him be one of the weakest at since don't have much outside of the brawl.
He held them when they were off guard then he tried to kill them with his cards and he didn't kill a single one or leave lasting damage, After they broke out and knocked him down he decided to play dead.
Liquir who isn’t one of the stronger GoDs broke out of that trap quite easily. So it implies that Belmod just caught them off guard. He then hid for the rest of the tournament and no one noticed which in itself says something. There is also Beerus statements about CSSB Vegeta being GoD candidate level in another universe. He is pretty much relative to Toppo. The GoD candidate of Belmod

Just because Belmod hid and outsmarted the other gods doesn't imply weakness when he took no damage when he was fighting. That candidate point is a huge reach tbh when he just said another universe nothing specific.

Blablabla. Retcons after retcons after retcons. Beerus has been surpassed many times already, as stated by multiple characters in the manga, anime and movies at different points of the story. For example, the original Beerus from the BoG arc of the anime was surpassed by Goku in U6 tournament already when he used ssb Kaioken. It’s just that the writers don’t know at all where to go with him so they keep retconning his power up silently, hoping blind fanboys won’t notice the *clear* contradictions that makes. It didn't take long for the "Beerus had to use 70% of his power" thing to be retconned a lie, but at this point its been retconned down to like 0.02%. Remember when Beerus said Goku didn't power down much and was able to fight Beerus in his base despite losing God because he absorbed it? Yet no matter how many new power multipliers stacks on top of that, it's just never enough somehow. With SSB and Kaioken thats like 5000x multiplier to almost-God strength and yet it barely means anything.
I mean for those who actually have tried to follow the story and understand the story.. should know Whis and Beerus have never been truthfull of the their powers... it been told by themselves multiple time they have lied just to give the main characters motivation.. i mean Whis stated it himself in the Anime 😅

Whis mentions UI is very difficult even for the destroyers to learn, and that even Beerus has not mastered UI. leads me to think he can probably use the base of UI but not MUI. Beerus likely has way more depth to his power.
And here I was hoping the endlessly moving goalpost that is Beerus would finally be surpassed, but it seems they'll never stop jacking up his power. I could understand there still being some doubt post-ToP, but at this point its getting ridiculous. Still kinda hope Frieza manages to kill him, but I doubt it since Beerus is destined to be on top until his rematch with Goku, whenever that'll happen.

they stated that based on the Kai's reaction to Vegito's final kamehameha, and that same Kai had no idea who Beerus is until the elder kai told him, so i doubt he has any idea of what Beerus's full power would actually look like, plus the same Kai is not a credible source as in the anime he underistimated Vegeta & Goku & Gohan in the Buu saga and was shocked everytime they beaten one of Babidi's henchmen
I think keeping Beerus stronger is smart, I mean he has to be made to train every so often by Whis in order to remain a god of destruction I assume and the fact Frieza's own father told him not to mess with Beerus goes to show he is at a point the no matter how much Frieza trains if he can't defeat two simple saiyans then he will never even come close to Beerus's level

I don't understand how people still don't get that neither Goku nor any new enemy will be stronger than Beerus until Goku has his rematch and defeats him. It will make no narrative sense for a Goku vs Beerus rematch to be teased and then have anyone be stronger than Beerus before that rematch.
There is nothing to get; if it is stated multiple times that characters have surpassed Beerus and other GoDs, then they have surpassed him period, no matter how little narrative sense it makes to you. Them silently retconning his strength up without any explanation is so hilariously bad writing it exposes what amateurs are actually behind this story. The only thing sadder than the quality of the writing on Beerus are the fanboys being totally blind to it and defending it, while chewing the shit they are being spoon fed by the story.

@@etercious Beerus says that in the Battle of Gods movie, not in the anime. The movie isn't canon. A hint isn't a solid evidence. It was never flat out said that they surpassed Beerus. And even if it were retconned, what matters is the retcon, not what it was before it. If it was retconned, it was probably because they saw it breaks the narrative to have Goku already be stronger than Beerus before their rematch.
Here is one thing people need to realize. The statement “Jiren is stronger than Belmod” or “Jiren is stronger than all the gods” is NOT synonymous with “Jiren can defeat all the gods” I am willing to believe that Jiren and Broly are indeed stronger than Beerus. But in a fight it is still possible for Beerus to be above them by simply being a better fighter due to Beerus being alive much longer. Perhaps when Jiren fought against UI Goku, having never fought against an UI opponent, Jiren would significantly struggle where as Beerus (I would imagine) is far more knowledgeable on how to fight against UI opponents and have a far better match against UI Goku than Jiren did in TOP. This is how it can still makes sense for Beerus to still be considered at the top in comparison to UI Goku, Jiren, and Broly without the need for Beerus to get any stronger. (I’m not finished will be continuing later)
I too believe that beerus is still stronger but the difference is much narrower than ever before! I think it will only take 2 - 3 more arcs to level the playing field.
The simplest way to solve the Beerus issue so that everyone can be on the same page, is to simply to have Beerus have 1 or 2 transformations in his pocket.

to be clear , when the coyote chased the road runner a note was made that he never catches the road runner. for dragon ball super , a similar thing has been done making it so goku never beats beerus so when someone comes in as a force of danger that goku needs to climb over metaphorically to beat. that adds another power boost to make beerus stronger than beerus
Beerus and quitela seem to be the only gods of destruction that matter n truly embody a serious not easily surpassed benchmark of destruction god concept. I think a plot twist is beerus continues to get stronger too and it’s not just them but beerus who is still in training under Whis long as he lives

People easily forget that Goku only possesses 1% of Ultra Instinct. I am sure that if Goku were to accidentally tap into the full potential of Ultra Instinct, like Whis does, he would be able to defeat Black Frieza with just one strike.
What are you saying Goku was using the full power of ui at the tournament of power, why it looks as if whis is using 100% is because he is an angel not a mortal and not restrained by the output of to much power for example Goku can add kaioken to his ui but the output would be to much for his mortal body to handle leading to his death.

I’ve had a theory that maybe the ultimate rival that berry’s had been looking for and the prophecy of a fighter that can truly rival him. May not be holy or vegeta but the combination of the two so possibly a ultra ego\instinct vegito or gogeta. As crazy as that sounds it would kind of make sense because it’s the combination of those two who he looks at as potential rivals. Beerus power has deff been kept secret lately and he hasn’t been doing much I think it’s building up for something big in a later plot point between all of them. But yeah beerus more than likely still just stomps freeza unless freeza has another transformation up his sleeve. Or is still training
Ui/UE Gogeta/Vegito completely toy with beerus it’s not even a match. Ssjb already exceeds beerus. A surpressed ssjb Gogeta played with broly who is stated to > beerus.

It was actually stated in manga and in interview with Toyo in the begenning of the granola arc goku and vegeta were number 1 and 2 in the universe as far as power goes and they both know about broly and fought him and know how strong he is. And in the manga it’s stated in a brief panel that gogeta had a hard time with full power broly it’s pretty implied since it’s commented that they fused and somehow won or barley won. So honestly even ui goku and ue vegeta would mop blue gogeta and broly at least them from that arc. And black freeza can just casually and probably super suppressed blitz and one shot them like they are trash and this is an even stronger goku in tui a form even above the silver hair form And vegeta who has also been evolving his ue getting stronger through the fight. It's evident Beerus will always be more powerful until the story no longer requires him to be. Considering how much more powerful Goku and Vegeta have become since Battle of Gods and all of the statements made since then (misinterpreted or retconned) Beerus is just immensely more powerful until further notice
Makes sense. Even in the Moro arc, Moro had acquired the powers of Merus, a literal Angel, and then became one with the planet. This dude Beerus was confident he could oneshot that same Moro. He's always been the endgame. He has UI and has hakai energy, both of which Goku and Vegeta are currenty working to refine. It's right there.
Huh? UI? The fk you talking about? Beerus is barely just around Roshi level in UI mastery, which means he can't even be called a Rookie level UI user like Goku is after Moro Arc. It's definitely because of his nature as a GoD that made it extremely difficult for Beerus, and Vegeta for that matter, to even reach Rookie tier mastery of UI which is on the opposite spectrum of UE.
It's crazy how people think goku and vegeta with 4 years of god ki and whis training, can rival beerus who is not only an actual god, but one of the strongest in the series (not including the angels) and had centuries of experience with god ki and training with whis

It seems people forget about the free for all tournament (under threat of punishment from Zeno if they didn’t go all out) of all 12 Gods of Destruction in manga 28-29 (after the Zamasu arc and pre-TOP)… Where the other 11 GoD attacked Beerus all at once and he survived the onslaught until individual fights broke out. At the end of the brief fight, it was only Beerus and Quitela (rat from Universe 4) left standing when the Grand Priest stopped the fight. So when it comes to feats… Frieza put down Goku and Vegeta in their most powerful forms. Beerus withstood simultaneous attacks from 11 GoD that had grudges against him and it was stopped when just he and 1 other were standing. Pretty sure Beerus’s feat is greater.
Of course and these destroyers weren't even fighting at full power cause if each of them had entered their destroyer forms and then jumped Beerus well I don't think Beerus would had survived such on unslaught
@@kosianams4098he did, because he tapped into ultra instinct while all the other gods went full power and currently beerus is the strongest god and the only one to have the ability to tap into ultra instinct which is amazing because now 0.1% of beerus power >>> tui goku, ue vegeta, beast gohan, orange piccolo, black frieza and more even goku in true ultra instinct doesn’t stand a chance against 3% of beerus base power in the manga since even the weakest god can 1 tap goku or vegeta and erase them because in the manga, jiren is not even close to his god of destruction in terms of power but in the anime they made his stronger
@@Wait-pm6wl yeah Beerus taped into a fraction of ui in his base form and the destroyers were not fighting at full power cause they weren't in their destroyer forms and if all 11 destroyers were to fight at full power multiple universes would be destroyed and Beerus would have to use more power of ui than the one he used
With the vjump scan, and RU-vidrs, is everyone forgetting that they just got out of fighting 2 ppl and that they were nowhere near full strength when frieza pulled up?
When will people understand whis he said ki control is key to ultimate power usage, this is why Goku can’t stay in ui, even if vegeta maters ue he will always have stamina issues, vegeta realized after TOP they were not far off from jiren, they just don’t know how to stop ki leakage.
I think you make really great point about how the powerscaling. Fans think they are doing massive gains in power to the point that in the next arc the previous enemy is now fodder to SSB Goku and Vegeta, but there are heavy hints that the gains are very small. Pre-super Buu saga Base Goku was believed to be way stronger than Namek Frieza, yet Beerus clearly states that is impossible until he sees SSJ. People also believe that SSG catapulted Goku to way beyond anything in Z because he matched Beerus but it was clear Beerus was playing around and was only curious about Goku harnessing God Ki, I wouldn't be surprised if Vegito turned out to be stronger (but due to lack of God Ki Beerus wouldn't be interested). Frieza was matched with Goku at the start of ToP and the only improvements he had was that he managed to solve his stamina issue and did image training in hell. People believe that the image training gave him massive boost but that seems far fetched as hell, Golden Frieza was already stronger than SSB, stamina was what screwed him, it is more logical that the gains aren't that massive and Goku was now as strong as Frieza that had the stamina issue solved. Vegeta recently even stated that they had to reach to Jiren's level, considering that he hasn't met Jiren since the ToP, it seems like ToP Jiren is still a benchmark for them to reach and that Moro Saga Goku was just rethreading his progress on ToP since he forgot how to do UI at the end. Granolah's arc seems similar but this time he gets TUI that is about the same but allows usage of emotion. This would mean that powerwise ToP Goku is almost the same as Granolah's arc Goku except he now can do UI at will and has access to another version that allows him to use UI with emotions and little to no changes to the power output. Heck there is even a possibility that ToP Goku to be stronger than current Goku given that he was tapping into power that he didn't know how he got and forgot how to use. This is a nightmare scenario to powerscalers but the more I look at the story from this point the more it makes sense. I have to disagree about the moving goalpost, there are a few statements like how SSB Goku and Vegeta working together would be a match for Beerus, or the Jiren is stronger than Belmond that was stronger than Beerus statement (and I don't think Belmond is that weak either, people forgot that during the GoD fight Belmond immobilized all the other GoD at the same time when they went after Beerus, by the end of the match he didn't seemed like he had a scratch and was smiling while pretending he was down). The planning about when Goku would surpass Beerus was poorly done, therefore those statements along with scenes from the anime like when Goku pulled the Kaioken both Beerus and Champa were shocked, Beerus even stated about how Goku was had such a technique to use against him, so yeah he was a moving goalpost due to bad planning. Recently they corrected that with Beerus stating how he's millions of times stronger than what he showed to crush Vegeta or the Dragon saying that he could turn Granolah and Gas into the strongest ones in the universe below the Gods.
I've been saying this for a Long Time, I was not even Surprised when he One Shotted Goku and Vegeta without Struggling... While he needs to Punch them, Beerus just needs to Blink and they Die, Lets be Fr now💀
Really the problem is. They shouldn't have made Whis give out numbers to scale Goku/Beerus/His own strength. Cause that ain't linear. That's exponential at this point. I don't mind Beerus being this moving goalpost, but Whis made it sound like it was a lot closer than it really was.

They really set Beerus way to high like I get he is a God of Destruction but I mean it is just that he is only a G.O.D so him being so high makes me wonder how fucking strong Whis actually is but it honestly just feels like bullshit like they keep pushing his level higher and higher for no reason Frieza should be stronger then Beerus at this point because if he isn't then there is literally no reason to be worried about him because if he does anything bad Beerus will just show up and erase him ruining any sort of plot or seriousness of the situation
Im surprised that people still put so much thought into making sense of all the power statements we get in and around the series. Dragon Ball never has been consistent about statements of power relations especially in Super. Beerus was introduced to prevent the power creep we got from the original series to be driven into meaninglessness. The problem is it didn’t take them long to use that build up statement about someone surpassing Beerus as an easy way to generate hype at the expense of the narrative. To counter that they indeed made Beerus a moving goalpost. I wouldn’t put so much thought about actually relating power level to each other. The series only concern is the current status quo about who is still relevant and who has the most hype so basically anything could happen as long as it fits the role the characters currently play in the story.
Its dragon ball super when someone is the strongest there will always be someone who gets stronger and then get defeated by someone who was weaker but has gotten stronger.
It’s very obvious where this is going. Frieza is set up to being that massive gap to climb for Goku because Goku needs a rematch with beerus. They promised it so long ago. My precidtion is: “Goku finally perfects ultra instinct in the fight with beerus and surpasses the god of destruction hierarchy. Thus trespassing into the domain of the bottom tier of the hierarchy of angels. Allowing him to defeat Beerus.” After that, vegeta will reach a new form as the new candidate to being the God of destruction for the universe and defeats beerus too, claiming the right to that position. It all sets up as Goku becoming the angel, Vegeta becoming the destroyer and perhaps Gohan becoming the grand supreme kai at the end of the story. But they will obviously allow goku to do what he wants and have fun regardless. Because of his nature and because Zeno has bias to him to he’ll uplift the erasing him if he exerts his power rule. Again, it is so obvious where the story is going towards.
I think Frieza is going to take a few liberties that anger Beerus. Like wanting to 'Destroy earth and all Saiyans' or try to destroy the Kais to kill beerus... maybe he even will kill Shin... but not the Elder Kai who Beerus himself sealed away, and should be linked to Beerus' life force. I don't think he will destroy the earth or the sayings. He could have done that during the broly movi or when he beat them with his black form easily. At this point he sees them more as rivals/sort of entertainment than enemies he must kill. About the kaios or other stuff that will annoy beerus that's very likely. He might even want to take his place as a god of destruction and do it on purpose

I'm honestly okay with/indifferent to this. It's a change of pace if anything. Almost since this series began, all It's been is just surpassing the "next strongest guy" then afterwards gets smacked into irrelevancy as Goku continues to skyrocket. This series hit the power ceiling a very long time ago, it's only so far you can go on. I remember back when Jiren was front page news, even before he showcased any of his power there were fans asking who the next strongest guy was, it's like, yeesh, people. This is why the series tries to switch things up a little, defeating enemies with more strategy even if they aren't overwhelming powerhouses.
It warms my heart to hear someone actually use logic when it comes to DBS and put some respect on his name. Beerus has always been the end game/goal. Great video!
I think beerus be training off screen lol I mean I don’t think he’s going to just gracefully set there and let goku them surpass him .if they do surpass him he won’t be able to claim he’s going to destroy earth if they don’t give him food 😂
Honestly, Dragon Ball Super power scaling is so ridiculous, the only consistent thing is stuff getting retconned. At the very beginning of Super Beerus said he had to use 80% of his power to defeat Goku, yet he is still a far away goalpost somehow, Master Roshi, who couldn't help against Raditz and Nappa is now a beast for some reason, Android 17 went from being weaker than Imperfect Cell to Super Saiyan Blue level, Frieza can do whatever really so they can keep bringing him back, Gohan unlocked his potential for like what, the 4th time? I can't take it seriously anymore.
DragonBall jumped the Shark so long ago, the best thing that can be done with it is to have goku snap out of a daydream revealing he's still on namek, broken and beaten, as Frieza laughs and erases goku with a ki blast.
It’s always funny to me how people try to guess how powerful he is. I’ve seen so many blatant lies it’s crazy. “Beerus was only using __% (the percentage is never the same yet they try to pass it off like they have some concrete evidence) of his power in Battle of the Gods!” Then when it’s revealed that Beerus is STILL the goal post they get frustrated. “They should be somewhere close to Beerus’s level now” why? Beerus used a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of his power against Goku and decided not to kill him because he saw potential (and he loves Earth’s food). Like you said, when Goku and Vegeta get close to that level it will be a lot more apparent
The mental gymnastics. Yes, the goal and power levels are constantly shifting for Beerus and Whis to stay on top, as they are introduced to exponentially more powerful characters.
Beerus is necessary to keep the story going at this point. Let's enjoy him. How many gods do you know in db that have this much story importance to the main character and this much screen time?
