are behringer pedals really that awful? i used one for my At the Gates - Slaughter of the Sould cover... and thought, "hey why not make a vid so people can hear what they sound like?"
The pedals are the ultra metal um300 and the heavy metal hm300.

This might be how you'd want to use the pedals but it's not really a demo of the pedals because we're mostly hearing your amp distortion. Most people would be using a high gain pedal through a much cleaner amp tone and that would be a better representation of the tones coming from the pedals.

Why exactly did he not start with the distortion off on his amp? You know, so we actually get a good idea of what the pedals sound like. I've been obsessively studying RU-vid guitar videos for almost two years now and this is a first.

Hi Taylor, thank you for the demo. It really made me decide to go for this pedal instead of something else. You said that you can't put a 9 volt battery in them... That concerned me and I checked it in the internet. You actually can put a 9 Volt battery, you just unscrew the part where you press the button and put a battery there.

Any time I used these pedals, I used the clean chanel and used the pedal. Always sounded great. I had MANY comments on my tone.

what about kt150s i wonder if that would have even more of what is good about a kt88 for guitar and bass

I love ATG's "Slaughter..." sound and looking to get these plus a pedal-sized power amp as a cheap gigging set-up. If you never play a clean tone, you never have to worry about breaking the plastic 😁

Also, the HM300 is meant to be a layer tone. And these days I use my UM300 as a boost, too. I have to use a fancy double stage noise gate to not have it be a feedback machine, especially with active pickups. Woof.

I think it sounds pretty decent (and very versatile) as a preamp. So running guitar>um>fx return. I dont think it sounds very good for anything running in front of an amp.... guitar>um>input. At least for high gain tube amps.

Typically, and I think I did in this video, cant remember... I run the pedals into the effects return. It's a nice way to test the pedal without the preamp section of the amp coloring the tone. Thanks for watching!

Kinda pointless doing a demo for a metal pedal on an already distorted amp. Shame this could have been a good video otherwise. Not hating or anything but why do so many guitar channels not use bone dry and clean amps so people can actually gauge the pedals true effects

I run my Behringer UM300 as an FX loop boost. I put the gain at 9 o'clock, turn the bass down up around 1:30, and the treble down to 11 o'clock. Mids are at about 2:00, and the sweep is at 9:00. I plug in to the front of the amp, and run crunch channel distortion on my amp(sim) set to edge of breakup, and the UM300 in the loop/post position. With Marshall, orange, Peavey, old school Fender, or Mesa amps, it sounds killer, especially on middle pickup selection with a TS style pedal in front of the preamp. I usually set my TS to Gain @ 9:00, tone @ 2:00, volume @ dimed. I'll leave out the TS booster when I record, and then 4-track it with my usual amp settings, also skipping the boost. I've tested this with my Zoom G1XOn multi-FX, as well as the built in preamps on a Bugera V22 combo and a 2018 Peavey Bandit. It should be noted that the Peavey I also run an ART Tube MP/C in between the input and the TS pedal, with the compressor 1 notch below all the way up, and the volume on the same setting, in instrument output mode, with the gain at the 3rd or 4th setting notch, gain boost and low cut enabled. On clean, putting the EQ at noon and the bass at 2:00, this gives me a nice, clear, shimmery tone on bridge pickup, and on neck pickup with the OD enabled I get a sparkly, almost-distorted-but-not-quite sound, on the bleeding edge of break up, and it's set so on both settings combos, digging in gives breakup, but picking lightly gives an almost jazz/blues rhythm tone. Neck pickup + Zoom pedal distortion + UM300 + TO800 = a sweet, singing lead/solo tone that sounds PERFECT.

I recently came back to this video because I'm debating buying an HM300. Lately, I've been running 2 Joyo amps in a wild stereo rig, a Jackman and a Meteor. The Meteor I boost with a DemonFX Precision Drive, and the Jackman gets boosted with my rusty trusty UM300. I have had that plastic dickhead purple monstrosity for 13 years. After gigging with it for a bit, the black plastic part that says "Behringer" on the button fell off. Still going. Still a piece of shit (physically).

You Definately want the dirt pedals in front of the amp . Just delay reverb chorus phaser stuff like that in effects loop
@TaylorDanley
@TaylorDanley 5 лет назад
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I wasnt running the pedals through the effects loop, I was routing guitar>pedal>effects return. This bypasses the preamp of the amplifier and essentially lets you use the pedal as a preamp. Hope that helps!
@SkogliJotunn
@SkogliJotunn 5 лет назад
why didn't you demo them straight into the amp on the clean Channel like they were intended to be used? and yes you can actually put batteries in them. the black hinge pegs on the pedals are spring-loaded you can press them in with a pen and the pedal pops off.
@heresjonny666
@heresjonny666 5 лет назад
What makes you think they're intended to be in front of the amp? Metal pedals sound like ass in the clean channel. The return is where they're meant to go. They act like preamps in and of themselves.

I have one Behringer pedal, and it is the last one because its either going to begiven away or meet a hammer of death. Actually I would be ashamed giving that to someone. I hate Behringer AliExpress/Wish/Temu quality. I hate the fact that ALL RU-vidrs lie saying that these are 1:1 copys of original pedals. They are not, and you wont find a single piece of electronics in them that you will find on the original pedals. Behringer pedals are noisy (even Gate is f-ing noisy), thin or muddy sounding. Behringer is the most plasticky thing that dont belong on pedal board or any signal chain. Its a gimmick, for the laugh. It is so cheap, you will easy afford buying it to try it and give it a toss against a wall, shoot it out of a tank barrel, artillery gun, drop it from a plane or send it in to space, but not in the chain. I bought mine for the laugh. People were lying that its a copy of Metal Zone. I had Metal Zone long before these now grown up kids were born and I can immediatly hear that Behringer is not a copy of anything. Its a completely different thing. Another thing is that MOST guitarists dont listen with ears. They listen with eyes. If influencer from RU-vid or some other weirdo nest say Behringer is a cheap copy and sound the same they will believe and buy, because why not if it is saving them a ton of money, and they end up with a signal chain that sound like sea waves during storm even with GATE cranked up to MAX treshold. Have you tried to compare BOSS Gate, and so called copy from Behringer? I think you should try. This will be like NIGHT and DAY and you will never believe in lies when someone tell you that behringer is a copy of something. Its not a copy of anything, its just a terribly designed pedal that is struggling to aim for sound from a more expenssive brands, but it i not a copy at all. Just a cheap shtty design trying to do same thing every other unsuccessfull pedal brand did before, wich is sound bad and introduce a ton of noise.
