Fred, How funny. I start searching the internet for different mic options for cb and this is the first video I find. I've gotta go back and watch your archive of material. Gold. Thanks 73 Triple 7's out of Oro valley Arizona

Hi Luke. Loads of UK CB on the channel. My CB journey since coming back on air 5 odd years ago. Cheers.

The real trick is getting all your microphones and all your radios going to Separate input channels on the console. Use the Separate aux’s to send microphone audio too each radio mic jack. That’s the trick. Then you can cross up any mic/radio configuration you’d like. 👍🏻👍🏻 good video. N8XLQ

Fred, you might want to make the distinction the audio on the 4 pin is NOT audio out from the radio. It may be confusing to some. Also, make a point about feeding unbalanced mic audio into a balanced input on the desk. Impedance can also be an issue.

Would have been nice to see a video setup with that radio that was sitting on the desk there on how you you transmit with it more so than receive. But I guess I'll have to search another video

Unless you're going to inject your audio feed directly into the board bypassing it's own filtering and doing some supporting mods you're still limited to only 300-2800hz frequency response. You'll see slightly better audio but if you want to get the full effect of the mixing board you have to inject that audio.

Yes I recently saw your review of that camera as I am looking at getting one for live streaming etc and just wanted to check with you about that particular video as the quality looks good! I have a V180 at the min but I am getting lots of noise in the streaming videos and also when prerecording. I kind of want to eliminate that : )@@CB-RADIO-UK

Where do you hook up the mic out to the radio? Xlr goes to the microphone. Phono mic in to the radio?
@CB-RADIO-UK
@CB-RADIO-UK 11 месяцев назад
You would have to make a connection box with lead from the audio feed from the mic to a mono plug on the mixer for the feed and then another lead from the mixer to the radio mic socket.

Hi Fred. With all those wires don't you get rfi. Wires are very good antennas. Over distance your mod will clip as rf will get back into the mixer via the wires. You may have to cover your wiring with ferrite rings. Its not the best set up mate, pay cheap get shit!
@CB-RADIO-UK
@CB-RADIO-UK 5 лет назад
Hi Mick. Yes i do suffer with a little RF when i run higher power. I have fitted som ferrite rings to the audio leads which has made a difference.

Thought I would go onto your latest video to ask a question with a bit of back story. I used to be in cb when u was at school and now work as a trucky. Had not been on in years and bought a crt ss 9900 and a sirio 5000 performer. In the truck I can pick other truck drivers up in fm band a. But when I get to a certain area I get keyed constantly over with music and stuff "welcome to Glasgow" so I thought I would give usb a try but don't know what band to use on it never heard anyone yet except bleed over from fm band A channel 19. Bought the cb from knights and they tuned it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi mate. I normally tune my 9900 manually by pressing in the channel knob and dialing in the freq. Freqs to listen on in the UK are. 1. 27.555 USB. this is the international calling channel and if skip is on you will here stations here. 2. 27.275 USB Another used frq. 3. 27.305 USB our net / group freq and one often used. I would tune (or scan) around 26.900-27.700 both USB and LSB. You have a great set up with 5000 and you will deffo be heard.
