Grew up on my Dad's WI dairy farm with (over time) a JD B or 2, a 50, a G and then a 730 Diesel narrow front end. Never saw a belt start. Dad's was an electric start. Those 730s are one heck of a tractor. Sure would love to run one again. It has been since 1968 since I ran a farm tractor. We also had a 1950 Ford 8N. I probably spent the most time on that disking corn stalks.

All good tractors. I've been looking for a Jubilee myself for years in good condition. Inflation and greedy sellers have put the brakes on that though.

Grew up with 2 a JD 520 and a 730, never new you could belt start them. Amazing!

It sure saves a starter when they have been sitting for a long time. If the pony motor is shot this is usually his first choice, pull start is the second option if youve got a help.

@@mommymilestones To be honest I was born in 1957, so by the time I started driving the JD 520 and a 730, those belt pullies or whatever they called them were just relics. We did not even have any equipment that used them. I remember my neighbor had a feed mill that ran off of a belt and when he bought a JD 4020 he had to buy a device that converted his PTO to a pully.

The baby called them dubas before he could talk because of the sound, duba duba duba for the popper sound as they are known for.

What Ford do you prefer? I like the little ones, Jubilee is my favorite for looks.

O you should always turn by hand first to not crack rings i even pull injectors or plugs and marvel mistery down each cylinder iff they sit inside they allways get runing out side could frozen rings ant it might get running but youll need to do rings if your break one ive done it a few times

Machinery Pete has a few that are reasonably priced. They're really good tractors for the size.

John deere made some models without a 3 point. They call them standard, wheat land special.

We've mostly seen that with the 50, 520 and 530 are missing them. Very important to have. Loaders are nice to have. We've got a couple for the 2 cylinders.

What state are you in? When I was five I held the clutch in with my foot on a model g. My 4010 is a standard. I have a loader on it.
