Why is Apple Cider Vinegar good for Chickens?
This week we #AskPhill about the health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for Chickens. (We had a little trouble with the sound this week, you may need to turn the volume up).
Apple Cider Vinegar is a great tonic for so many creatures, including humans of course. Commonly called ACV, it contains minerals such as potassium, calcium and phosphorous, and vitamins A and C. Add it to drinking water and help to support the immune system and keep your chickens healthy.

Phil we have a couple pulleys that have lost feathers off the butt and now the butt is flaming red. Why is this and how do I treat it?

Hi Nash! I recommend 5ml of ACV per 1 litre of water for general routine maintenance 😃

Sir how many days we can use continually? And after that how many days we can use again?

Hi Afzaal. Thank you for your question. Apple Cider Vinegar is a very cost effective tonic and is added to fresh drinking water at the rate of one teaspoon (10ml) per litre and can be fed for about a week each month. Chicks and young birds can also benefit but at a more diluted 2ml per litre. Take care not to add too much Apple Cider Vinegar as if the application is too concentrated, your chickens may stop drinking. Hope that helps answer your question about dosage.

If I'm mixing my own, what is the ratio for the garlic?
@flytesofancy

Having not made our own before, i wouldn't be able to say. However Garlic is a great thing for chickens to have, can be given in dried granulated form ad hoc so there is no real danger to putting too much. I know a customer of our who simply floats a few bulbs in with the water with the added vinegar

Internally. Put it in their water. Have a look at the video.

Morning Janet. The Apple Cider vinegar that we mention in the video is already blended with garlic. See www.flytesofancy.co.uk/chickenhouses/Apple_Cider_Vinegar_Garlic.html for more information or to order for home delivery. Hope that helps
