My breakfast every day is a quart of green smoothie containing a LOT of power greens, a handful of frozen fan leaves from my cannabis trim, a frozen banana, a scoop of collagen powder, scoop of raw cacao powder, a scoop of hemp seeds, maca root powder, water.....blend. been useing hemp seed for a few years now and its essential to use hemp seed with the shells to gain the fullest nutrition i grind mine down and had them to my favourite yoghurt for breakfast, with the shells it contains every amino acid and vitamin and mineral over all other foods and is easier to consume has it has a nice nutty taste...
@Hempstar2369

+moonbear I agree. Whole Hemp seeds are best, and grinding takes away the problem of getting the shells stuck between your teeth. Soaking removes phytic acids and makes them more digestible but harder to grind, but great for blending into milks.

Phytate was abundant in hemp seed (also when hulled) (phytate 4 g/100 g), and could compromise iron and zinc absorption (phytates/Fe and phytates/Zn molar ratios above 20 and 15, respectively), as well as involve poor phosphorous absorption. Better when fermented with phytase enzym.

Hemp-Seeds are AMAZING! Magnesium is such an important mineral to have in your body and in your system, the amount foudn in these seeds is really impressive. If you take these daily, and also consume about an ounce of good-quality raw/organic cacao powder you will meet your daily needs with this mineral, something that has helped me out so much with anxxiety/depression and my mood. I personally take 30g of hemp seeds along-side (2) brazil nuts in the morning after i wake up, i also take a seamoss/bladderwrack mix as well - about 3grams of each (on the seaweeds). Goji berries and Schizandra as well :-) These hemp seeds though, they are amazing and everyone should be consuming these everyday. I have been trying to figure out a dosage with them though, i have been eating 30g a day since i got my 5 pound bag in the mail yesterday but i am wondering if i can do more? maybe 60g per. day?

I’ve been cutting down on processed breakfast cereal by replacing 2/3 of my serving with hemp and chia seeds and using a coconut and soy milk blend. Find that I feel more full and less hungry throughout the day, which has improved my mood - just a whole domino effect of improvement. Maybe it’s placebo cause I can’t speak for or against it’s health claims, but I can definitely say more hemp seeds (or seeds in general) to gradually cut out the sugar-laden cereal and granola has led to improvements!

I'm not a medical professional or nutritionist, but before writing this I did try a web search for "fibromyalgia nutrition". There are a number of related websites as you might guess, but I was fortunate enough to quickly land on one published by the National FIbromyalgia Research Association. They emphasize that the ideal nutritional program for people dealing with fibromyalgia varies from one person to another; what helps one person may make symptoms worse for another. Their recommendation is to work with a nutritionist, who can conduct tests to determine what is likely to be best for you. If you'd like to read more of what this association has to say on the topic, the website I found is at www.nfra.net/fibromyalgia_nutrition.php . I hope that is of some help -- Todd

Hemp seeds have ALA Omega 3. It's not the EPA or DHA Omega 3s that we need. Our bodies can only convert a small amount of it into Onegas we can use. Still better than nothing though.
@UncleMike81
@UncleMike81 5 лет назад
Fwiw females can convert ala at a higher rate then men. Men can only convert like 8% of ala to epa and 4% to dha. Woman bc of estrogen 21% to epa and 9% to dha. People can make up their own mind, but personally it seems like a waste to me. Why make my body convert it at an inefficient rate? Natures saying "no" ... Much better to feed flax to chickens so they can convert it at a higher rate. Then get the useable omega 3 from the eggs. Can buy em at the supermarket. Just seems like a better way to spend your $.

Hi. On the whole I like this video although I would question baking Hemp seeds. Omega 3 is a polyunsaturated fat that will oxidize into free radicals when heated, this is why I only eat them raw or sprouted and blended to make milks or ground to make sweet or savory marzipan from the Chinese Ma(Hemp)Tse(seed)Pan(preperation). You may be interested in my video Hemp - a dietary essential.

@dr.axe do you know if hemp milk is beneficial for toddlers. My son has eczema and we have removed the foods that are a trigger to him and it has helped him with his skin drastically. He’s dairy sensitivity is mild but now we’re removing casein too to help with his overall health. Thus we’re looking for CF milk. We are excited about weaning to hemp because nuts we can’t trust yet because of his food allergies. I’ve read hemp has a low content of THC, would you know anything about the exposure to it in toddlers. We are not vegan or would label ourselves anything really. We just want our son to have foods that are beneficial to his particular make up. We have never had the need to because no one else has allergies and eczema in our family. So we’re new at exploring different foods. Thank you

we do have it growing by the tons...problem is the greedy leaders.... they don't want us to trade it legally.... instead they want to be the only ones that benefit

Hi Doc. I just received my Calcium Score of 50 which I am told, is "about average" for a 65 year old. I recently read that Hempseeds and or Hempseed oils acn be an alternative to statins to help lower LDL. do you have a video on this topic? Thanks in advance.

Do hemp seeds need to be cracked or sprouted to get access/make ingredients bio-available? I understand flax seeds for example will mainly pass right thru U if the shells are not mechanically cracked before consuming them. Which seeds in general need to be cracked and which can be eaten w/o cracking or sprouting?
