Thank you so much for this very short, very detailed overview regarding berberine. Great info I can try to get my doctor to look at. I’ve been taking berberine for about 4 months as I’ve been titrating down off of a couple of cardiac medications I year after I had a stent inserted. I never understood the gastro-cardiac syndrome until I had a heart attack. I’ve had really excellent results on my blood tests around blood sugars, A1-c, my triglycerides all of which used to be elevated. I was on a keto diet as well as I eliminated sugar and maintained a low card diet. Not sure I was in ketosis but I did notice weight loss on my upper arms, face, neck but not my abdomen. My guts have also improved greatly. I’ve understood from another RU-vid doctor that is from the body going into the liver, pancreas, and clearing fat on those organs as a priority. How brilliant is that!! I’ve slacked off the diet somewhat since June (camping, travels) and will go for blood tests next week. I’m still on 1000mg of berberine so I’ll be interested to see how my numbers are. The stuff is powerful!
I’ve always struggled with angular chilitis with enlarged pores beneath my lower lip bc I drool when I sleep…no cream helped and all the dermatologists would just give me a nystatin which did nothing…I’m hoping berberine helps. I just hear of this herb..god willing it will help clear up my thrush
I put 3m micrpore tape over my mouth at night because I get dry mouth, opposite your problem. You might benefit from it to prevent the drooling. You can google mouth taping. It's completely safe.
I stopped taking this when I started taking another product but see that this will help a lot of what I have going on so will have to start taking it again.
My 2 cents worth: I started berberine 8 days ago and have had to cut my blood pressure meds in half because I was so tired and sluggish. This helped. I will continue to monitor my BP several times a day for the next 6-8 weeks and make not of the readings. It would be great if berberine could cancel out these meds.
You can get all the listed benefits by eating LCHF. You can lower you blood pressure by doing Nitric Oxide dump exercises, and breathing exercises with humming . All of the above I do, with great success. Berberine is friggin' expensive in South Africa.

I’d like to start taking Berberine for my gut issues.. My A1C is good and my blood pressure runs on the low side cholesterol is good will it have an effect on lowering my blood pressure even more if I take it?
Just google drug interactions, I think BP lower drugs and taking Berberine can cause unwanted BP to go too low so maybe ease in the Berberine and talk to your doc about lessening BP meds. If your doc will not listen, then get a new doc that will.
The funny thing is that I mentioned both berberine and inositol to my endocrinologist and he said he didn’t know what these were! How am I supposed to think that medical professionals can help when I’m the one doing the research and they don’t know or don’t care about anything other than prescription drugs?

Dr. I am 47 yrs old , i am currently doing seed cycling to balance my hormones, i did an at home test to see if i was experiencing perimenopause since i started seen changes on my cycle, so the test was positive & since that i been seed cycling & my cycle is back to normal, but was interested in losing 10 pounds, & i just bought barberine capsules, my question is, is it recommendable for perimenopause? What about side effects such as muscle atrophy & acidity? I am only taking other vitamins, no medication & had a bout with muscle pain & could not sleep, I lowered my dose to half. And feel better.
I read two studies that Berberine causes high liver values indicating it can cause liver damage. If you take it, you must have liver blood tests run routinely. I decided not to take it.
Oregon grape is definitely a booster but unnecessary to be honest, but you always always want Berberine HCL anything that is not HCL is garbage. Take with food because if you take 1200 mg your body only absorbs 650 mg of that just heads up
I tried several times, several different brands, and never worked for high blood sugar. I was trying to stop taking metformin because I can get berberine without a prescription.
I've been taking it for a month and have lost seven pounds. Berberine has enabled me to cut calories significantly by stabilizing my blood sugar. Berberine without dietary modifications won't help with weight loss.
Nothing worked for me until I stopped shoveling Ho Hos and pizza in my mouth 24/7 like they were going out of style. These supplements are meant to assist with insulin resistance. Not a magic pill.
@@ionseven that’s true but most people promoting them make it sound like it is. I’m not taking it for weight loss but to reduce my A1C. I was just hoping the weight loss would happen as well since I could stand to lose a few pounds.
If the “food” is made by man, throw it in garbage can. Once I followed that tip, I lost that last 10 pounds over a year ago. Also, trash all foods with high fructose.

As my testosterone is in the dirt at 240. my doctor will not prescribe testosterone, he says I need antidepressants, that's a complete joke.. I've done the research, my symptoms are evident of low testosterone.. should I seek help with TRT therapy, or is there a natural way to boost my low test?? thx
@@revzone3544 I got mine from 160 to 380 from taking estrogen blockers to prevent testosterone from converting to estrogen. There are some on Amazon. Just my experience
What kind of medical training does a chiropractor have, exactly? So many of them love to be called "doctor", but they are not doctors. And so many hold forth about nutrition and other things which they do not study. Dangerous to trust someone who makes medical claims but is not educated enough to do so.
Chiropractors get a LOT more training in several areas than allopathic docs do including nutrition and supplement and herbal uses. There used to be a chart online that showed how much more training Chiros got in these areas vs MDs. It was quite enlightening.
What an absolutely moronic comment that 5 minutes of easy research would have easily provided answers for. A Doctor of Chiropractic degree is a DOCTORAL degree. You cannot even be admitted into chiropractic school without an undergraduate degree in a biological science. Their total hours of Anatomy and physiology are actually MORE than an MD gets. My niece is a chiropractor, nutrition specialist, and she is very educated to be able to deal with such issues. Chiropractors are not fake anything. They are well versed and she would not even talk to anyone about something she's not knowledgeable about. Please don't clump all of them into one basket
