Your thinking and doing the stealth way and I believe in this philosophy. If it isn’t obvious, it’s less likely to become a target for thieves. Having greater options in amp mounting and amp choices makes this an easy sell for a shop. You get great sound and it is not obvious and you still have full access to your storage areas. That’s a triple winner there Mark. Great ideas and a great system with lots of options. Can’t lose! Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
You sound like you owned/worked in a stereo shop before. Almost every type of music sounds better with a sub. Thanks for the tips, especially the firewall location.
Huge JL fanboy ever since my teens when I swapped out a Rockford 400a4 directly with 300/4 and noticed the difference immediately, but $230 for just the bracket alone to mount a single amp under a seat is absurd. JL should be ashamed.
I have two kids so I was reluctant to place under seat (liquid spills). I have a JL XD700 with two crossovers in the storage tub. Went on a 8 hour drive when it was 88 degrees and encountered no issues.
Big big difference in setups..marks is just a daily driver sounds good system Doug's is gonna be ground shaking...so gonna take a hell of allot more time
Can you please make a video explaining capacitors and how to estimate what farad you need and if they even make a difference? Or when you start to need them etc?
Interesting amp under seat mounting plates. I DID C2 (real tweeter) excellent. Stepping up to C7 / VX800 3 way active, rear 6x9 kind of 30 times the price but it is JL for life.
I can't find anything on the Big 3 upgrade for a 2018 JL Wrangler. I scrolled through your channel and I don't see anything do you know where I can find any information about it
It’s so gratifying to know that you’re a fellow Jeep guy :-) I was wondering what you were going to do with the downward-firing speaker bar. It’s real different than mid-ranges firing at your knees. Anyway, spectacular build. The separate top-off/top-on tunings is pretty freaking awesome 😎
Did you ever (since this was filmed and released ) install freedom panel / hardtop insulation panels? Just curious to know how much value they really bring, as I am about to embark on turning my JL into the same situation you have in your Jeep. Thanks for the content. Very informative.
The fuse holder i think i would have went and got a touch up paint can of the jeep white , rough sanded and panted just the top to make it disappear more into the fender ...
JL needs to engineer a couple tensioning bars that go between the roll cage bars and put pressure on the fiberglass roof to dampen it. Or maybe a CAF product?? I'll split it with you and help with R&D!
Great information. Do you have any information about how you obtained signal from source to amps. I like the entire setup but most confused about the best (and maybe easiest) way to get signal.
One solution for the ppl listening at home is using binaural microphone IL will do wonders and give a very nice impression of how the system performs That's how @jimroomreviews do in his channel when testing new headphones
how do the amps cope with the rear feet vent with the heater on. great video anyway I have two mates that own wranglers I'll show them this vid and what type of head unit is that
I would love to know if you've listened to a JL with the upgraded factory Alpine system, and if you have you're thoughts on it. I think it's one of the best OEM system I've heard.
Nope. Its always the same. They get signed and their label does a blanket take down. They all sell out as soon as they get that big offer and I'm not going to lose ad revenue because my video had 3 seconds of a song.
Great video, and timely for me. Researching my next Jeep right now. Thanks for the great content, I'm learning a lot from you. I see the JL Audio under seat amp mount recommended a lot, but no discussion on the impact of having the back seat HVAC vent blowing on the amp. Would be great in the summer to help keep it cool, but what about during the winter when running the heater? Should we be concerned with having the heater blow across a class A/B amp? Thanks for your time
Great design, I can appriciate the time you put in! Would you mind sharing your 3D file for the top dash pods? I could get someone to print the pod but not the measurement etc.
Great video and nice setup. I’m running 2 Stealthboxes in my JL as well. I have a question…when running the power wire under the passenger side seat, what route did you use once it’s through the fire wall? I’m looking to add a 2nd amp to power my aftermarket soundbar speakers.
How can I get my hands on those front dash speaker pods for the separates? Need to install a 3 way front system and yours is the best option I have ever seen!
Have you looked at upgrading the sound bar, DS18 or American Sound Bar make some nice upgrades, We went with the American Sound bar and 4 8" mid and two tweeters. Ran with some Skar Marine Amp and Infinity 8" marines with RGB. Sounds Awesome on the trails. Would love to send you some pics of our setup on out JK
Great video! I also have the Stinger Heigh10 in my JL and was wondering what you have set for your EQ and Crossover settings? I upgraded all the speakers to Hertz DCX series with no additional amp and have 2 subwoofer/amp combos under the front seats.
Question: I hope you can help. I have 2018 jl wrangler rubicon with the subwoofer panel. I am ordering the JL audio sleathbox for the passenger side but would like to know if you know the part number of the lower panel cover
@@MoragTong_ I'll assume that you were joking, albeit what you said was true, insofar as that specific sentence goes... but, on the off chance you weren't joking, a jeep, as you put it, "is not a boat", however, the point of marine grade components in a jeep, is the fact that a jeep is basically a convertible, therefore has the potential to be exposed to the elements, such as rain and muddy mud-puddle-water... Now in say a fancy convertible,(albeit not the easily convertible kind) like that one, and were you the type to go out with the top down in mud puddles and things,(like any self respecting jeep owner) you're likely to get water splashing in from those puddles, albeit in small amounts, or possibly even rain in varying amounts, although, if that's the case, a guy putting together a system for a vehicle, should probably just go with marine grade crimp connectors where needed as well, which, to be honest, can really increase the budget for the build, if you're not one to plan things out and just make every fitting marine grade...
@@northwiebesick7136 He mentioned JL Audio’s other marine grade amplifiers, but did not mention their MVi range of amplifiers which are the marine grade version of the exact same amps he has installed.
Does JL Audio have a set up for a 2 Door Wrangler? I have the 2024 Willys, and my sub is only a single sub located on the floor. Also does JL Audio have upgraded speakers for the rear ones that’s located above the headrests? Also what track is that with the bass, I love my bass too!
I have a VX1000/1 to a steathbox in a Mustang. Is there a woofer that you can put in the steathbox that is better than W3 it comes with? Want to stay with JL.
Hi. I just bought my 1st jeep. 2018 jeep wrangler unlimited sport. Very bare vehicle & I love my music & bass & want add. I'm very curious about what u did for the top speakers. I think they are like a 2.5".
Your comment on taking the top off causing attenuation of bass got me thinking. Wouldn't an actively tuned port to the exterior of the car be a fun thing. Or an actively tuned sunroof? Heh
1. Are using DRC 205 to control system volume? 2. Seems if you are powering rollbar speakers from Height 10 you'd use it as master volume? 3. How would an Illusion C3x in upper dash and C6 at knee height sound compared to speakers you used, given same amplification? Trying to maintain stealth look. I was thinking Pac Audio AMPRO AP4-CH41 (R.2) with optional Toslink output to VXi amps. 4. Think there would be much of a sound quality loss vs. the Heigh 10 or Alpine i509-WRA-JL? I'd install both driver and passenger side JL stealth sub enclosures. And pull seats and sound deaden complete interior.
There's a lot to unpack here and address for your application. If interested we offer system consultations here: www.caraudiofabrication.com/consultations
Awesome video. Can you do a video on how to hook up a Watt, volt and amp meter to a system? I can't find one video and I would like to know what my system is putting out and consuming. Thanks
Love the videos, I've been installing stereos for a long time , but your videos teaches me more that I didn't know. I have a question about a up coming custom install and need some help
Excellent work my friend, You almost sold me on buying a Jeep Wrangler just to replicate this set up. Lol I do however have a 2019 ram 1500 limited with the Harman kardon 19 speaker system . I wish someone would do a video on the JL audio stealth Box with the 2 tens for the 1500s. I have a 12W6v3 in a porter Box that I was running in my 2017 Cadillac CTS, before I got the truck now it's just sitting in the garage. Do you think your 2 sealed tens would put out more base than a ported 12W6V3, Running the same 600W to either??
Just starting to research upgrades for my Jeep sound system. i’m kind of shocked that people spend $5000 plus to do this. Wondering if you found a more economical solution since you posted this question?
If you could only change one thing on a factory system what would it be? I’m looking at upgrading mine but can only do one part at a time. So looking at where to start.
Would you by any chance know the name or part number for that back panel that replaces the OEM subwoofer panel. I’m putting both of these same boxes in my jeep and I need to replace that panel. And keep up these amazing videos and amazing work.
While adding subs, did you have to disable auto noise canceling? If so how? I am looking to upgrade my JL's sound system but have been told the sub will put out a constant humming with ANC active.
Hello! I am your follower, I really like your channel. Maybe you can talk about JL Audio Fix 86 because I need to know if this is necessary if I already have an amplifier with DSP like AudioControl D-6.1200 or D-4.800 Thanks! Regards from Mexico!
@CarAudioFabrication Any idea of the internal volume of the Jeep JL Stealth Boxes? Is it possible to order them without subs? Please let me know. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the the enclosures but want to upgrade with high end subs. Last question lol! Do you know how deep the enclosure is to assist in picking out a sub? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi bro, Awesome video..one question..i hve polk audio db6502 db+ components speakers in rear n front..i m looking for an amplifier to power these components..Some one recommended Pioneer GM 8704 amplifier..can i go ahead with this amp? Pls respond
Hi Mark. I have a Jimny 2020, that Is pretty similar to a Wrangler Sport. I bougth a 4 channel amp, for my front components and rear coaxial. Do you recomend to amp the components and coax or only the tweeter and midwoofers with active crossover?
Are you sure those C2-350x's fit. I went on crutchfield and it said they don't fit. I have a 2021 jeep Sahara with the alpine system. would the JL's be a better upgrade?
