This entire playthrough is basically just a giant hand pointing towards the Kingdom Hearts II sign when you get right down to it. For real though, KH2 is fucking amazing.
@@baylaust depends, 2 spoilers allot of things in days, but if you do days before two it turns two into a really big emotional gutpunch and adds allot of needed context.
Can't wait for the to see our boy Sora Judgement cutting rows of buildings while fighting the KH version of the Akatsuki comprised of DMC devil arms users lead by a Sith.
so the reason Riku turned evil, got control of the heartless, and made their journey probably twice as hard as it needed to be was all because Donald said no.
Eh, to be fair, Riku did say in KH2 that he was always jealous of Sora. Add in a bit of insecurity from being replaced and some manipulation by Maleficent, and it's not a super big stretch.
@@baylaust That and he had already started having darkness in his heart back on Destiny Islands , on top of him being able to summon Soul Eater already too.
That but Riku was not looking at Sora right. Sora WAS happy to find him and he wanted him to join in the adventures regardless of Donald or Goofy consent. Riku left without finding a conclusion to that. In 2 he admitted he was jealous so he was blind
I don't think you can access Hundred Acre Woods until you at least see the Riku Cutscene. Merlin will say something about being busy at the moment. Maybe I'm thinking about Magic Practice/ Warping to the Secret Waterway?
I forgot how much of a total asshole Donald is in the beginning of KH1. Of course, he does grow, and he was admittedly never the NICEST character in the main Disney pantheon, but yeesh, guy...
@@baylaust Does he really grow? In KH2 he lies to the Gullwings to trick them into helping just like he did to Sora, and that's like half way into KH2. Then there's like 5 different scenes where Donald is going to do something nefarious like stealing something or attempting to change the past and Sora/Goofy have to physically stop him.
I love that a disney villain showed up on Leon's world and single-handedly killed millions, perhaps billions of final fantasy characters. The mental image is beyond comprehension
Oh my god, he literally doesn't know he has it. Apparently Woolie didn't read the Deep Jungle guide up to where it says you get Cure element at the end.
okay, I have to go on a mini-rant about the sudden and unceremonious unequipping of scan. Matt should realize he's lost the ability to see HP bars, right?? that seems like a fundamental thing that should inform every single battle one partakes in; knowing how many hits until the enemy is defeated. That would literally be the first thing I notice in a battle-- "wait, do I have any feedback whatsoever on how much damage my attack is doing? No?? Well that's a problem!" But.. apparently Matt is satisfied with whaling on the enemy blindly and endlessly until they die? But why?????
Exactly. Also the fact that he was able to hold onto it without Sora realising it probably means that he simply summoned it himself. If he was to just grab it outta Sora's hand in sure Sora would've noticed. I mean Sora can't be that clueless, can he?
@@aussakagamine8862 I hope that was a joke, cuz it's very obvious that Nomura is making shit out of his ass with every new game XD. That's why KH1 is my personal favorite of the series, it was... Simple and clean.
And Xehanort is Zetsu. I was going to say he is Madara, but I think Zetsu is a more fitting choice, since he makes clones and has been rigging things from behind the scenes since the start.
Goofy: "Oh yeah, I saw yer friend thar with that spooky looking lady! Right outside the window when you were a-talking with Cid." "Goofy, why didn't you tell anybody? That was important." "Nobody asked!" Like, why was that not in this game? That would've been classic Disney.
It was a major part of the central attraction under Disney Castle at one of the largest Disney parks in the world until the castle was deemed unsafe for not being up to code with new earthquake safety laws. So it got that at least.
Don’t even get me started with Kid Tidus, Kid Wakka, *Auron,* and The Fairy-Sized Gullwings all existing in the same canon at once. What do you think Yuna’s backstory is like in this universe? The FFX lore is F*CKED!
The reason the Gummi ships are polygonal is because the game encourages the player to edit them as they see fit. Normally, I’d be a little miffed that you skipped a mechanic like that, but in this instance, I do not blame you in the slightest
@@UncoloredPageGaming I guess I'm in a small minority who thinks that Gummi customization is more fun in KH1 than KH2. Personally the point system for what blocks you can place rather than just by being able to place them if you have it puts me off so much.
@darklordster I personally hate the gummi ship sections. Not as a bandwagoner. I genuinely hate it. As monotonous as this game gets. KH2 gummi was actually pretty fun as well as making your own gummi ships.
Merlin: "Ah! So Cid told you to bring me that book?" Mat:"Oh ya, I forgot about the book" *he says after coming specifically to this spot because of the book* This explains a lot of why Mat has a hard time with RPG's, he instantly forgets about things after seeing them.
They changed keyblades, were hype for the summon, good final fantasy funsies and are getting into the plot a little and I'm extremely hype for this again!! Good episode!
I legitimately love the foreshadowing in this game, like i,t's VERY obvious when you know what to look for, but why would you look for it in the first place? God damn... I mean, mechanically most of the games after this are better, but still... what a fucking setup and payoff.
@@DarkestAndBlackest Kingdom Key wasn't designed for Riku either. Kingdom Key is a keyblade that CHOOSES it's weilder, NOT Riku's personal keyblade. Big difference between those two. The only reason Riku was going to get the Kingdom Key was because he had already being given the ceremony. And seeing as the only other keyblade weilder on the island lost her heart, the Kingdom Key found the next best thing that turned into the best choice ever made for everyone.
Man remember when the fact that Riku could also hold the Keyblade was like CRAZY cause like Sora was supposed to be the ONLY ONE who could? THE Keyblade Master? Good times...
MAtt. Equip the dang abilities onto sora. If the sparkles are lit up, they are equipped. You can see the abilities on the menu. EQUIP THE DANG ABILITIES YOU MARSHMALLOW GOOBER.
@@NekoKujo6785 Have you not seen Fantasia? YenSid is clearly the better Wizard! video.disney.com/watch/sorcerer-s-apprentice-fantasia-4ea9ebc01a74ea59a5867853
Didn't see it in the first 12 or so comments I looked through. So the reason that Donald and goofy are jumping around at seemingly random times is the AI interaction with an obstical in the environment there programmed to be as close to sora as possible so if something is in the way they fly over it.
Please don't jump in the water. Please don't jump in the water. Please don't jump in the water. Every minute counts in these videos until the next episode. Please don't jump in the water. *He jumps in the water* Damn it.
Don't worry. They waste even more time every battle whenever Matt runs around to collect every single orb. I wonder if he still thinks the green balls colored his HP gives him XP.
Not exactly true. Gave up the staff, so I bet he'll end this game with like, 6 or 7 MP. Knowing how well he plays, Sora will be back to fishing through his pockets 20 seconds into the end-game bosses.
I disagree. Potions and elixirs were super useful for me during one of the last fights in the game. Even if I was hit, I still got the benefit of them, while if I was hit while performing cure, it didn't work. But yeah, otherwise, I didn't use them that much.
I'm going to saw my own head off with a chainsaw if they dont figure out to put cure on one of the shortcuts and use that instead of wasting all their money on potions.
AFAIK it's the very same orchestra from London, that's why they sound alike. I know it sounds stupid but each orchestra does kind of have its own distinct sound.
Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but if you want the chest in traverse town that's in the cafe area (in district 1) you need to use blizzard/ice magic to snuff out all the candles. It's a single chest, but figure in case you wanted whatever's inside. ^^
Woolie : but there's no force field stopping you from going over there. What about when they get in their car and leave without you though. Thanks Donald!
Exhibit B of "Donald is a huge shitter": Sora asks his best friend to come with him to find Kairi, but Donald bitches out and indirectly tricks Riku into becoming a big stinky darkman
If your already getting Naruto vibes, wait until you get to the organization stuff in KH2. Woolie, prepare to add one of those black hoodies to your collection along with the Akatsuki robe.
It might be awhile before they reach a point where it's explained, so: Gummi blocks are actually the visual shattered form of the barriers between worlds keeping everything separate and disconnected, that the heartless break apart and get through when they reach new worlds. That's why having a ship comprised of those pieces allows anyone to travel in space and Enter a world, even one with a barrier still up (like Deep Jungle), and when the barrier breaks down, a meteor shower usually follows at some point (although that's been inconsistent) and the 'falling stars' are actually gummi pieces falling to the planet. Kind of a creepy spin on the cutesy name, no?
I'm enjoying watching them mark out over the things they remember to look at. Like the Summons, all of which are pretty cool. But at the same time I am equally frustrated that they are missing out on some equally cool things such as the book. Man that book existing blew my mind as a kid. Its just part of the price of a blind LP I guess. The raw reaction to the Rikku reveal was totally worth it.
Wow, you can 100% see where they stopped modeling during Simba's entrance. Very clearly not thinking about HD at the time for obvious reasons, but still amusing as heck.
You think maybe all the DMC playthroughs have been a secret build up to Dante's Inferno? I'm not sure if you've noticed but their main characters have the same name. Ah? Ah?
Remember when they said they would hilariously never buy potions at the shop? REMEMBER!? Maybe that money could be used to get a better weapon or something...
No one actually live in Traverse Town. Its a save haven for people who's worlds get lost to the darkness. But yes, there probably should be more houses.
