1:30 He really wonders what would have happened if he didn't buy enough potions. We're gonna have a "We have a Run button?" fiasco like in the Super Mario RPG run again.
+Jeedy Jay It happens every time he has the controls! Every single damn time. I despise every LP he's playing because this shit happens all the time. Why isn't Woolie playing? He was the one who wants to get into the IP in the first place. Why is he not playing?!!
Unfortunately until the next recording session happens they will probably not know and even then they might not see these kinds of comments. So I'm just clenching my gut and trying to ignore it until then.
"Why are these messages so big? Do they think we are dumb or something?" "Wait..so...Donald learned Blizzara? No....Sora did....wait, where is it? Blizzara? So Donald...Sora....what? No wait I can tell Donald to do it! My magic button is the Donald button! No, wait..."
It was the epiphany that Matt somehow came to the conclusion every learned Magic spell was for Donald that made me feel a deeply upset and affected emotion.
@MrSlaide also you replied on 3 other threads saying the same exact thing. At least be clever if you're gonna waste your days with a god complex in the RU-vid comment section.
*"Jafar was beyond help, consumed by his own hatred. One should beware of letting it burn too fiercely." -Woman whose sole motivation for doing evil was not getting invited to a party*
Oh no, it's the fact that the king invited all the highest class of people AND fairies while ignoring Maleficient, the highest class of Fairy, which implies that she isn't on the same level of status. Yes people keep forgetting that Maleficient's occupation is a fairy godMOTHER who wasn't invited to a baby shower despite the fact that all these losers got an invitation.
@@Raldavar That's still just petty. It doesn't change anything. The REAL difference here is that Malificent was just a bitch. She wasn't fueled by hate, Fairies are just petty creatures.
I like how the odd tip Liam has given them doesn't include how to operate menus and such clearly because he doesn't think they are that stupid, what a nice friend
SoulEaterXIII yeah this is kinda...baffling. Like the complaining about scan is dumb you don’t need scan, but Matt kinda just doesn’t understand some very simple concepts
I didn't get that at all, just some understandable confusion about which magic user gets the spell. I say understandable because the witch hat icon makes it seem like a Donald thing, considering a similar (if not identical) icon denotes Donald's weapons.
Or any additional abilities really. He never tried Aero either, and never equipped Sonic Blade despite Woolie talking about wanting more non-automatic moves.
He even has free AP...he can equip it without taking anything off...but instead of looking at the screen for even a second he continues to bumble along.
captain hook may not have the power of maleficent or hades, but he's far more competent. one scene he says "let's kidnap princess tiger lily" next scene he's got her tied to an anchor in a cave with the tide coming in to drown her. in that same cave, he immediately recognizes peter pan's trickery, creeps up behind him, and would've killed him if wendy hadn't yelled. hook is cunning and ruthless. hook is one of the most effective disney villains. in the final confrontation, peter promises not to fly, but he does fly, and that's why he wins. in a duel of honor, peter has to cheat to beat captain hook. captain hook is the greatest.
At some point before this session stops. I want Matt to say out loud, 'God, using all these potions kinda sucks. Why can't I have like a cure spell or something?' This is all gold. Every single episode.
@@hairypancake So competent he spent 10 episodes of Super Mario RPG walking, got stuck and thought the game was broken and needed GameFAQs to tell him the Y button was a thing. Or was that Pat?
@@hairypancake competent one huh? guy races through all games they do LP's with. When he did Life is Strange, he missed several stuff. Yeah he ain't perfect, but honestly I think Pat is the most competent one of the three when it comes to play the games. Woolie is great at fighting games and his intelligent to know how to play them well. Matt seem to know his shit when it comes to background information about the company who makes the games and the voice actors in the game, however Matt does have this feel behind him when he plays or watches games that he just doesn't give a fuck when others think and he just does what he wants, which is why I think they haven't acknowledged the fans about scan and cure. They are going to play the game how they want to.
@@monsterking7676 LIAM'S ARE GREAT! He pays attention to just about everything and really takes his time. And he understands basic rpg mechanics unlike dumbass over there skimming the menu screens and Woolie not helping much either
Where there was hope as Matt saw and scrolled passed Cure, he chooses to ignore it and continue to rely on Potions; The world audibly groans as our Crownless King continues to bumble his way seeking KaiRiku; Meanwhile Angelina Jolie seduces young Japanese boy and tempts him with Dark powers. Tune in next time to Final Cure HD Remix: Scanless Edition.
I still can't believe Square manage to have Sir Christopher Lee to voice a character in this Japanese franchise with Disney and Final Fantasy characters. Yet we they can't get most of the comedians VAs to reprise their roles.
Well Robin Williams refused to voice Genie after Disney failed to abide by the one condition he set for voicing Genie which was Genie wasn't to be used for the marketing of the movie
@@ArhloFrie Idk that is kind of a very stupid request by Robin Williams. If his voice wasn't used in any of the marketing, Aladdin would've crashed and burned instead of being hugely successful.
@@MegaTyler93 It wasn't a "request" it was in his contract. But let's respect the complete lack of respect these MultiTrillion dollar companies have for the individuals that bring in the money. "Crashed and Burned" It's a Disney movie, are you high? And it wasn't for the movie, they used his voice to shill merch! As in, Using an actor's voice to sell McRibs when they were paid to make a movie. Without even compensation. The kind of creepy manipulation that has companies using deceased actors to sell their vacuum cleaners decades after their contracts are up. It's fucked up, period.
The Curl Whether if it was in his contract or not doesn’t really matter, it was still a dumb deal pointer nonetheless. And also I mean no disrespect to Robin, he was a great man and I miss him very much. But this idea of what’s respectful and what isn’t is just out of hand nowadays.
Scan, menus, blind, talk about what's on screen, attention, game for children, understood and completed without issue in single digits, Matt, true baby
I'll just select the comment options that most appeal to me from this selection. I'll have a number 2, a number 3, a number 6 with extra dip, and two number 9s.
i like how they're avoiding combat because they dont know how tough anything is. like if they had some ability to gauge how much damage they were doing. and they didnt waste AP on stupid skills. and if they actually understood how a children's game worked.
@@pramitz6500 Ok. I call BullShit. We ALL can clearly see that trash minions are doing significant damage on them whenever a blow hits and its getting worse the further they play. The game is very forgiving, but it's still an RPG. You dont need to grind, but tat doesn't mean you should just skip all the combat from boss to boss.
MegaTyler93 scan’s importance has been overblown though. Using cure though would be nice to see more often. Donald is refusing to heal them in this playthrough because what’s even the point?
@@gameb9oy Actually, Donald has been surprisingly on point with some heals, to the point where Matt has wasted a potion a few times because Donald healed him at the same time
@@MegaTyler93 Backseat gaming is rarely justified. It's ok for Woolie to backseat a bit if they both WANT a guide up for the video, but no one likes a person going "Omg use scan idiot" or "I can't believe you forget you have cure all the time!" It's like Undertale and Dark Souls, only KH fanbase is generally the worst for it.
Genie didn't stop being a genie, he is still one, but he is not bound to the lamp, he doesn't have to grant wishes, he can use his powers for anything he wants.
@@eb-the-gamer6287 Yeah, that's why Matt said "I think there's a boss coming up" and Woolie was like "yes there is!". It is taking two grown ass men, using a GUIDE, to beat a game that I beat when it came out when I was TEN.
@@devil238 I mean I just thought it was funny that they were using a guide and still getting lost and not knowing whats happening, i dont think the age difference is too big a deal XD
I really hope when they have most of them (preferably before Aerith gives them the even numbered ones to preserve the twist if they don't already know he's the villain by osmosis) someone gets on their case to read the Ansem reports because it really does contextualize some of the metaphysical concepts of KH (even the Gummi ship).
@@ExaltedUriel I doubt they even know that you can read them in the journal, unless someone in the comments already told them and they actually saw that comment.
1:15 Matt "Man, imagine if you didn't have a good stock of potions, then after fight you're going right into this." Me: No I can't imagine that scenario Matt, because I would have used the spell inside the magic list called CURE, INSTEAD OF WASTING POTIONS!
Kingdom Hearts FMHD Remix LP Part 37 - Cancelled due to being stuck at Dark Riku 2 ..Who am I kidding, they will get stuck in Atlantica trying to figure out how to get out of there
@@S4v4r At this point, I don't think it's overreacting. About 4 or 5 episodes ago I thought that It was fine so long he was still winning without thinking, as the enemies were still pretty weak. But now he's frequently cowarding out of anything even slightly tougher because he has no frame of reference for how easy or hard anything is besides the damage they deal to him. Which means he isn't learning anything, nor is he gaining as much XP to get stronger at a steady rate. Which could see him quickly becoming under-levelled and result in a bad cycle of him skipping rooms because he's too weak, thus he remains weak, thus he skips rooms, ad infinitum. All of which we're beginning to see in this very episode. Maybe it won't get that bad, but it's a good enough reason for them to equip Scan, it only costs 1 AP for fuck's sake. Plus, from a viewer perspective (or at least my perspective) it's really lame to see him run away from battles that could easily be beat if he tried even a little harder than not at all.
Matt has clearly shown that he has no actual idea how the AP system works. He may in fact not even be aware that "AP" values are listed. He goes to a skill that costs 3 AP while he has 1 available and tries to equip it. He either thinks that skills are skills and you can only have a certain number equipped, or he thinks that whether or not a skill equips is random chance or something. Despite how absurd it is, those can really be the only explanations.
@@kaizakira Really weird since most of us played this game when we were 11 years old or probably younger and figured it out....most of us without internet....and they play games for a living....holy shit.
Oh. And he gave White Fang to Goofy and kept his weak Fire Ring on Sora, despite just picking up a Protectera Chain (and kept Protect Chain on Donald). Because of course he did.
"Why are these messages so big?" asks the guys that missed the big message that told them they had Cure. These are the guys who want to challenge Sephiroth... Oh boy.
"Hurr hurr hurr why are these messages so big, these people must think we're fucking idiots!" "So the magic menu is the spells Donald has, and this quick menu is the spells I have!" Literally foaming at the fucking mouth right now.
I'm watching Liam's streams through the KH series right now. Hearing him talk about how he wants Woolie to get into KH because the gameplay is so good and then watching this makes me hurt inside.
I like these guys and their videos, but it is pretty amazing how inept they are in some ways, despite being in QA at one time. If they'd even explore and read the menus a little, they'd solve so many problems. It ain't like I'm being unreasonable either. Me and my eight year old friends who played this and RP'd during recess all knew this stuff.
After playing this game over and over and over, not once did I knew there was a scene of Pinocchio and Jiminy in Cid's shop before you meet again in Monstro. I always found it weird that I would go Monstro first and Donald just straight up knew who Pinocchio was.
it sucks how simple the level design is in KH2 compare to this. Alot of KH2 are just simple hallways and rooms. Really glad that KH3 is upping the complexity.
ROAD TO CURE : ALPHA IGNITION."Good thing we have this stock of potions, amirite For real tho this is my big favorite I'm not actually mad or anything good job good boyes.
As of fighting Jafar Donald deaths 16(maybe more there was a cut Goofy deaths 7 Hook does deserve to be in that evil council. His boss fight is tougher than most of the disney boss fights in this game. Hes even got more hp than them. Hes captain for a reason
His fight in Chain of Memories was honestly pretty brutal. Hook is a fencer, so naturally he knows how to parry. Motherfucker has like 60 "0" cards in his deck and was breaking every sleight I threw at him XD.
SuspiciousEd Yeah that was such a fun gimmick to his fight. They really used the card mechanic well there- when you had to counter parry with your own 0 then you had a small window for a “riposte” sleight.
But... how would we know such a fact as "Hook has more HP than the others?" What kind of speedrunner/dataminer research tech did you get that knowledge from?
To be fair, scan doesn’t really *do* anything… it’s more of a mental thing for the player. It’s thing long-time players have gaslit themselves into believing it’s absolutely necessary, myself included for a time. Monster Hunter doesn’t have health bars. If don’t need a health bar for Teostra, I *definitely* don’t need it for freaking Jafar.
okay at this point, they are either trolling or they made a deal to not use cure or scan and only potions for the entire LP. Also NUMBER OF TIMES DONALD HEALED or CAST AERO: Sora: 11 Goofy 5 Donald: 7 Total:22
Did Matt have a stroke? Woolie: And the parry is basically just counter hit, right? Matt: I... think.. s--I dunno. I should prolly even... forget to say... like... yes... I know. Eehhh... y'know? Woolie: ...what Matt: Nevermind. Woolie: Okay.
Yeah combo plus isnt that useful in kh1 the extra ground hit just makes so it takes longer to get to a strong finishing move not to mention youre stuck in the attack animation longer. Its decent to have for normal heartless but not a good idea to have it for bosses in which you focus on ground combos. They put that on instead of scan, which is like top 5 best support abillities in kh1 only being surpassed in usefullnes by once more, mp rage, leaf bracer and goffys mp gift.
@@tigerfestivals5137 Nah, you can just slap it in the middle of a combo, Sora does a move, and it's registered as a finisher. Using it in midair can make it repeated. Having berserk charge on while midair smashing square against Sephiroth makes the fight so easy.
I always like to think the best friends read the comments and are like "heheh, they get mad at us for using potions and not using scan, let's keep doing so as a joke" but then it turns out they legitimately have no idea
I wouldn't even be mad if he put on Sliding Dash instead, cause at least he uses up that 1 AP, but to go and have 1 left with two skills not being used HOLY SHIT.
I'm so happy you guys played Soulcalibur with AH because you instantly made a new viewer out of me but what has made me a fan has been watching you both play through this series together. I really hope you guys go into 2, Birth by Sleep and 3 once you have completed 1. I promise it gets so much better and you won't regret it. One thing to note as despite it not being turn-based combat, you really have to play this like a classic Square Enix RPG. Check your menu often and pay attention, grind for money and Exp, buy and equip accessories, equip new abilities as you unlock them (Scan is essential), make sure your spell quick bar is customized (L1+X for Cure is the way to go during battle to heal quickly and efficiently), and most importantly pay attention to the text to see what upgrades you get (Magic is shared by everyone as is some of the abilities you receive later in as you play. The messages will let you know.). Oh, and after completing a world ALWAYS backtrack with your OG party of Donald and Goofy to get trinities and hidden items. I know you're trying to breeze through this, which is the best way to do it in an LP, so there's no point in collecting anything that is out of the way of the main storyline but a lot of the time you get extra money and loot out of it so it's beneficial but not important. Other than that you guys are doing great! Please continue playing and have fun!
I think there's an important distinction to make between parry and counter. A parry is when your attack hitbox collides with an enemy attack hitbox. When you parry something, you aren't hitting it and it doesn't take damage.
It's great to have you guys finally play these games. Now when u choose to shot on them at least you will have the proper context XD. Also I'm low-key hoping you guys will get roped into the KH hype fully lol
Matt, Woolie, I love you bastards, but if you're gonna make fun of BIG OBVIOUS CAN'T MISS IT TUTORIAL MESSAGES, then you should probably make sure you actually know how the game works, and aren't confused about menu/game aspects that are explained in BIG OBVIOUS CAN'T MISS IT TUTORIAL MESSAGES. Edit: You clearly grinded off screen, after you died, which is fine, but you should also just sit down with the game for a solid 15-30 minutes sometime and just... learn your menus, experiment, and just try to figure out what you're clearly confused about. It would make everything super easy for both yourselves, the people watching, and prevent us from getting pissed in the comments, and you guys getting passive aggressive and pissed from getting flamed. I'll be the first person to admit I don't know a thing about what happens behind the scenes with you guys and the LPs and other stuff you do, but that's my heartfelt and genuine advice as a fan of both you guys, and a lot of the games you all play.
