It was already to torque for holding flat surfaces together. What's happened is you let the surfaces break that alignment and something has stretched enough to release the clamping force between the thread faces and seating faces... Be careful recommending/endorsing the things that manufactures explicitly warn against to unknown potato heads...

Just use a 20mm hole cutter without the centre drill, would take 30 seconds and job done.

I have to fix several of these a day. (My father owns a tire shop). Some of them can be a nightmare . A lot of people don’t realize their vehicle has locking lugs nuts or they lose the “key”. The ones that are a real nuisance are the spline drive but you can easily get a removal tool for those. Also ford needs to recall those OE lug nuts the steel nut with the aluminum covering! They need to be solid stainless

Everything is hunky dory in a youtube short. Been through situations where it cost a wheel hub assembly, let alone a single wheel. Everything was undertaken it just wouldnt happen 👍

What you did is stretch the stud, after you loose the nut you should replace the stud.

and in the process you most likely will damage the alloy wheel. PAY NO ATTENTION TO THIS. drill it out and use a bolt extractor. cowboy
