I bought a 3lb spool to give it a try. I'm amazed at how long it lasts and is very quiet compared to the shaped lines. Thanks for the recommendation!

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ru-vid.comUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

I've been using this for 2 years after watching this video. I ran through a giant $25 spool of Home Depot stuff. It was about half the length of this spool. I was re-spooling it every two weeks. I use my trimmer 30 times a year. I still haven't replaced the first spool of this stuff that I put on my trimmer. I typically have to extend the string one to two times per lawn cut. Worth every penny!

I researched plenty and took the advice of George here, and have just tried out this black line on all my normal front and back trimming.. In a word - AMAZING !!!! The shipment was very fast and the spool arrived very well packed and undamaged.. On start up, first thing I noticed - no trimmer line noise at all... It's gone.. All you hear is the air moving, a much lower, smoother to the ears sound.. This tells me the line is moving very smoothly through the air - love this.. I only needed much less than half throttle; my echo was just purring along, and this line cut very efficiently, left sharp edges, and smoothly across all kinds of things.. And since I needed way less rpm to do the same thing, I did an entire big back yard and a little smaller front yard, lots of grass to edge, and I never even had to hit the spool on the ground to advance more line... Thanks George ! All the decades of busting myself and machines up with lines that were so unbalanced are gone !!! This line also cuts very gently and precisely across those "high" areas of grass that are still there after mowing, you know what I mean? Very smooth cutting, no tearing of the grass blades, very easy to manage this also.. I don't have a shield on my echo, so I can very easily see what is happening when I flip it over to just shave off that high corner next to the sidewalk , which gets more water, and is always a little higher.. So glad to be done with all those other types of lines !!! I just don't see the need for them ever again...

Following your recommendation I ordered a spool of 'this line and love it. I have used echo and Stihl last few years and this is far better. Biggest difference I am noticing is we are using about half the amount of line we used to use. It just seems to hold up better I think it's because it's a bit more flexible and doesn't seem to snap so easily. Thanks!

A great product!!! I bought the Copperhead Vortex Professional line and tried it for the first time today. I cut 10-12” high thick grass in it a 150’ long irrigation ditch then trimmed around my house until the machine ran out of gas.. I never once had to tap the hub to make more line come out. The same 5" long pieces of line sticking out of the hub were there when I finished. Never had that happen before.

I just have to say thank you. I tried this stuff tonight and it works great. I didn't use half of the gas I normally do and only a fraction of the trimmer line. One more plus I didn't even think of is I wasn't covered from head to toe in weeds when I was done . It cuts the weeds instead of tearing them and wasn't running it full throttle throwing crap all over the place.

Thank you for posting this video and I’m definitely going to give this line a try. I’m tired of the string breaking every ten minutes or so and having to stop to spool the trimmer again. It’s extremely frustrating and often, I just give up for the day. I’ve also heard of people using tie wraps and even coat hangers.

G Packard - Hello Sir. Okay, I just wanted to give you an update. I couldn’t find this line at my local Home Depot so I placed an order online. You’re one hundred percent correct, this is definitely the best line I ever used with my trimmer. It’s a little thicker than the spools of string for my trimmer but it still fit through the holes. I tried spooling the string but since it’s thicker, it was difficult getting it started. I don’t know if it was one of your videos but I found an uploaded video with a trick about cutting string to a desired length, tying a knot at one end pushing the line through the holes. Since I wasn’t having much luck with the spool, which I find extremely frustrating, I used the knot method and it worked like a charm. This string cut without any problems at all nor break, even when I was trimming next to my wooden fence or the edge of my house. With approximately one third of my yard complete, my electric trimmer start smoking so that was the end of that. I was using a Black and Decker electric trimmer that I have owned flr two years so now I’m in the market for a new trimmer and I’m seriously considering a two stroke gas model that will work great with this line. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanks again, you weren’t kidding with this line being so good. Thank you.

Thanks for this video. Just purchased a 110' spool and i know it's going to perform well and it's going to last. I too like to edge with the trimmer turned sideways so i can't wait to not have to pull more string every 10'

its true what you say about it flying straight and being durable and cutting the best, my lawns are so curvy I work with round line and controlled wave forms. but I use a 35cc machine. I also do mulch cuts just with the weedeater in some uphill jobs and the cheep round line splits at the end and cuts 5 times at a pass giving good atomized mulch. but for most people that twisty stuff is the best. I'm thinking of running it on my little T270.

I have a very large yard. I watched your video and everything you have said is completely true. Unlike other brand lines that wobble up and down this line spins in an absolutely flat rotational disk making walk edging a real joy. Also, because of that, routine trimming goes better because you can maintain a level cut. Finally, because I have a Echo trimmer, I have been using Echo line, which is much better than generic, but Vortex is SO much better and goes SO much further. I get more that double the life out of this line per job. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you SO much for this video!

Sold. Just bought a $50 spool. I'm tired of bumping the head every 10 seconds cut good, and then having to restring every 5 minutes. When I weed eat, I burn it to the ground. It takes 3 weeks for it grow back. Having crappy string (I use Husqvarna crap). I bump the head, and 10 seconds after I have to bump it again. Hopefully this helps. Thanks.

Echo black diamond is my favorite so far the twist adds more rpm so less air drag more efficient and it slices the grass instead of slapping the grass.

G Packard I ordered both the .080 and .095. My trimmer takes .065, so I wanted a back up in case the .095 did not work. I tried the .080 first. It did fine, though it did break up a bit, I was edging around cement and kept hitting it. However, I have to say that is the cleanest line that I have ever seen with my edger! And, it did not break up as much as the stuff you get at the big box stores. I’ll try the .095 next and see how that works out, and practice more edging around cement. It’s a new edger, I’m still getting used to it. I agree that it is one sharp, clean cut!

That stuff IS good, like he says, I've used it for years. But I just bought a 58V AEG rechargeable electric line trimmer and when I tried a new line in it, my current favourite one, the performance just went through the roof. It was like the machine was suddenly supercharged. It blasts through metre high setaria and now I can clean up my 350 metre driveway with it - somewhere I haven't been able to get to before now because the banks are way to steep to get my Toro Z-Master on. The line I now use is a 3mm nylon (I guess) green one with a triangular profile. The shape makes it slice like a blade and the difference is astounding. The trimmer has a bump feed so I just load it up and go for it, no interruptions. I've just recharged the battery so I'm going out again to get back into it. Hope this is helpful. BTW those AEG rechargeables are AWESOME - do yourself a favour and try one.

I think you will find that the stability of the line rotating in a flat disc is down to the helical form of the cord. Very similar to the helical fins in tall thin chimneys fitted to prevent lateral oscillations in high winds. In the case of the strimmer the helical form stabilises to path of the cord as it goes round.

As possible, I first use a 12" Husqy 3-knife blade. Takes very little throttle opening even on an antique 21 cc Echo straight-shaft. Then for near masonry & stuff I put on fixed-line head with a couple chunks of line I'm trying to use up. That's going slowly- not a problem to me. As an alternative, 11" 4-knife Husqy blade works great. Either way, woody stems are in jeopardy. Blades also don't cover me with debris, a BIG PLUS.

I watched this last week, ordered a spool of this from Amazon-$15. Let me tell you, do yourself a favor, get this. This is by FAR the best line I’ve ever used. I weed eat up against a lot of concrete. I used to use 6-7 feet of line in about 200 feet, with this line, using it this morning, I used two 1’ lengths to cut the same distance. I have no dog in this hunt, I’m just telling you this stuff is phenomenal.
