@@evaphillips2102 Incompetence is easily forgiven... but cruel intent is indicative of sociopathy, no matter how pretty you are or how good you are at something else. I don't usually have trouble separating artist from artwork when the person has great flaws, but it's a sliding scale based on how much talent/brilliance you have otherwise, and she seems like she mostly left toxicity not inspiration with others. It makes her negligible/forgettable for me.

I don't know if Karine knows how to cook Haitian food, but a main staple is beans all types, plus pureed beans in sauce which Americans call soup, more types of beans than you can imagine, but Haitian cooks don't need any advice on how to cook. @@shebamaree9026 embellished very little but it’s not made up, they both have spoken on the majority of the events depicted in the show in the past long before it was made and others have also confirmed it. I can give many examples. The belt scene was true, Joan reading the book and getting the idea for the movie and coming to Bette to star in it all true, all the drama that happened between them on set was also all true, a lot of their conversations were all true and can be found in many interviews, press releases all confirmed by them, and so so much more. Olivia de havilland in the show might have some discrepancies because she tried to sue Ryan Murphy for her depiction in it but idt there was she and her sister were known for their feud with eachother in Hollywood and I think it was TOO accurate and that offended her even more Lolol. Depicting her family drama in a TV show. I’m an old Hollywood historian I study this shit for fun.

@@pamelagonzalvez5801 they both had problems with many other stars but their feud was the notorious one that they both were so personally invested in, probably on account of the movie they finally made together, I think there were moments on set making that film where they actually were close to being friends. It’s hard not to get close to your costar when you have to spend so much time with them making a film.

81 is untimely. My grandmother was 80 and I grieve not only her death, but the years she could've had that are now forever lost.

True. My parents always told me EVERYONE smoked back then. I've visited museums that had cigarette ad posters from back in those days. They ALL had things written on the ads like "#1 Dr. recommended cigarette to soothe your sore throat!" "#1 Dr. Recommended to reduce stress & relax!" Dr's smoked. I've always been told everyone smoked & the kids growing up were ALL subjected to all the 2nd-hand smoke in their homes. My Dad's mother, my deceased Grandmother on his side, did NOT ever smoke, & she lived to be 100 years old. She lived pretty independently until her mid 90's, but then needed a care facility. My biological mother's parents both smoked. HER mother quit in her 50's, but died in her late 60's of a heart attack. Her Dad...smoked Marlboro Reds like a freight train his whole life. Weirdly, he lived to age 85, & had just developed the very beginnings of Emphysema the year he died. He barely had it yet but his Dr. told him. He basically died of natural causes/old age. However, the average life expectancy back in Bette Davis' Era was much shorter than today's. Due to smoking, sure, but also bcus we've come so far since then with medicines, treatments for all sorts of illnesses etc. I LOVE the old black & white films. Joan Crawford films are my favorites. She was SUCH a force to be reckoned with. Bette Davis is my close #2 favorite. My favorite black & white film is "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" bcus it stars both Joan Crawford & Bette Davis. That's a heavenly pair in one film, & they BOTH rocked the hell out of that film! 🏆 🎬 🌟 ❤ My fave Bette Davis films are All About Eve & Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte. ❤🎉❤

These ‘tell-all’ books feel like a vindictive attempt to capitalize on their mother’s fame in order to create a public sensation so they could make money.

So, it’s one set of siblings vs an other set of siblings opinions. There has never been any proof to the allegations, and many people who knew Joan personally, vocalized support for her, but the book, and movie, became such a media storm that those rebuttals where lost in the zeal of judging and canceling a dead celebrity. No one can ‘know’ other than God and the people involved. You have chosen to believe Christina based on your personal opinion. Sadly, these women are not alive to defend themselves against the continued allegations.

@@suzyque The abuse happened to Christina and Chris. The sisters are younger and possibly didn't witness it. My mother had 3 siblings. She was the oldest and her brothers were closer to her age. She told me stories about abuse by my grandmother that my aunt never saw because she was the youngest. I've heard of this happening in families all the time. A parent will single out a kid or 2 for some reason and the rest are treated better. Or by the time the "baby" of the family comes along the parent stops the abuse. I think this is more about nonsensical celebrity worship with people not wanting to believe their idols could be monsters. Especially in the US.
