It amazes me when I see what you guys are able to do with these basic tools and an understanding of the metal and the dent. When I first saw the damage I said there is no way you can fix this - it needs a new panel. Just amazing.
@fishingwithjavi5324

those tools might look basic but it takes alot of finesse to understand how to use those tools properly
@richmac918
@richmac918 9 месяцев назад
@@fishingwithjavi5324 That's what I was implying. They "read" the dent and know where to pull, push, tap and which one to do first. I bought a very rudimentary kit and tried taking a dent out of my kids fender. I got it to look a lot better but the closer I got to the end the more I started screwing it up. Finally took it to a local guy who looked at it and immediately said "who ever did this was starting to stretch the metal". I told him it was me that did it and I knew that I was going to end up making it worse. He worked on it for about 15 or 20 minutes and now you'd have to look at it damn hard and in the right light to realize that it had ever been dented.

Solid repair my friend! The dent remover USA 25 years pushing dance bro and that is definitely for that repair amazing! I don't know what you charge for it but I understand the challenge of it! body shop would have had to hit them at like 1500 to to repair the damage. Thank you for sharing that technique of pushing with your body weight instead of your shoulder and arm I've been using that for years and I'm 57 and I'm a little little broke but using that method is definitely save my shoulders in my elbows! Probably been watching your videos for the last 10 plus years and love them keep up the great work my friend!

@abelscaliber7969

Nahiyan Haq this was a scenario where the damage area is huge however the paint is all intact ... if the paint is cracked at all any reputable shop would never “ repair “ this panel. On cars like this, quarter panels are part of the infrastructure integrity of the car, can’t just pop it out put bondo and call it a day!
@waktosha7378
@waktosha7378 4 года назад
@@Nahiyanize I could have fixed that quarter panel, just not by pdr. If that was an insurance job, the insurance company would have me replace the panel because for them it is faster and cheaper. The bad thing about that is they would pay for an inferior thinner ill fitiing POS panel to install which takes a ton of extra work to install with it not being right with no extra pay. That makes me have to do free aggravating work. I have learned to refuse to install junk parts. Btw, uninstalling and installing parts is part of bodywork.

I'm Impressed nice work, you are a dent SAVANT. I had something similar needed to be done and the local PDR wouldn't touch it. Twentyfive years ago working in a Nissan dealer had a 300z hood pulverized from hail storm while on the transporter. This PDR guy shows up and said he could fix it. I didn't believe him, this hood looked like a disaster. He spent four hours ish and if I didn't see it I would not of believed it, PERFECT, could not tell.

No it doesn't look brand new for sure. But this is a very complex dent, and I'm surprised you didn't drill a hole in the other side of the panel to be able to work from two sides. This is for sure way above the head for most of the PDR technician.

I had a similar 'PUSH' in my left-passenger-door. I simply took the door off, removed the inside of the door, removed the plastic covering under that, and then carried the door to my living room, put it onto the carpet on the living room floor, took a 12" long length of 2x4, placed it so that the 2x4 was FLAT against the metal, and hit it with a large 'dead-blow' hammer. The wood transmitted the force of the hammer blows over a large area, pushing out the dent without causing too much more additional damage. sure it wasn't anywhere near 'normal' looking, but it was free, the car looked pretty good, and my car only lasted 5 more years before SEVERE RUST from road salt here in the North-West ate up the car too much to safely keep it on the road any longer.

Although I love the metal working skills you have, one thing consistently missed by the PDR community as a whole, is that the paint is dammaged beyond saving, on something thats been creased this badly. You cant see it with the naked eye, however if you take a DA and start feathering where all the crowns were, you will start to see all the splits show up as you get through the paint. When you do conventional body repair, you see this all the time. So this QTR still needs to be stripped and painted. That said, its really good to see a high level of metal working skills returning. For a long time they were all but lost. Very few knew how to do this, even as recently as 10 years ago.
