Honestly haven't been this invested in the Wings for years. The rollercoaster of heartbreak and elation hasn't been felt since the late 80's and early 90's when the Wings were beginning to get into the playoffs and challenge for cups. As fans we were spoiled and took it for granted that they were always going to be good. It's hard not to have your expectations raised substantially and your hopes completely dashed from one game to the next with the current team, but big picture is that we are here, we are invested and there is still work and time that needs to be put into this version of the Red Wings. The more the suffering, the greater the payoff.

Very true that the Philly Collapse has been epic, but what were the realistic expectations of them going in to the year? Seems to me that the Wings choked it up pretty good as well, with higher expectations to boot. Just keeping it real, I like the Wings as well, but they haven't been great.

If Detroit knew how to clear the puck, they would not have lost about 17 games in the season for that reason. Clears are poorly thought out, panic attack, and appear to be some sort of malfunction in logic.

I think our chances are much higher than people think. The pens and caps both have a tough finish to their season, while we gotta get through the Leafs and then the Habs twice. You never know what to expect in hockey but I’m still rather confident in our chances

I always want the Wings to win, and I'd love to see my team crack the playoffs in what, 7-8 seasons? However I am also realistic and know what that means. A likely first round series with the Rangers. The Wings will have been successful in extending their season by 4-5 games. I'm torn here.

Hate to say it, but I think I’m with you here. I think the team played great when they were good, and honestly did better than I expected this season, but when they were bad they were god awful. I’ll be happy for more wings, but as a realistic person, getting stomped in the first round by a Bonafide contender isn’t really the fun return to the playoffs I’m looking forward to.

Detroit has the better schedule with two games against the Montreal. I think it is possible that Wings win two of the next three games(probably against the Habs), and the other teams only win one game each. That would Give Detroit 89 points, Penguins 88, Caps 87.

My expectation at the start of the year what that the Wings needed to be playing meaningful playoff-implication games in April. They've clearly met my expectations, yet managed to find a way to do so in the most disappointing manner possible.

If Raymond has 3 goals again I think we make the playoffs I like our odds against Toronto we need to stop Austin Matthews and don’t take any penalties. I can see a 4-2 victory or 4-3 overtime loss points one or two regardless we need points

Poorly officiated game with Detroit versus Pittsburgh. The NHL wants a nostalgia tour for Ovechkin, Crosby and Malkin Washington has about 40 less goals than Detroit too.

This team has no heart. They will not make the playoffs. They have already shown a lackluster performance in the final stretch to the playoffs and have not lead in many games. They are always struggling to come back. Hoping next season will be without Lolonde, and I'd dismantle half this team... get rid of Copp, , Sprong, Perron, All goalies, Gostibhere,, Fabri, Veleno, Charot, Czarnik, Matta, Fischer. Who else? This team is so slow. They can't win with chump and chase. Zero defense. I think the Wings dug their own grave. Stop blaming the refs. They are a mediocre at best.
