/ southernstreets A little Mexico action for the big turbo ST in preparation for TX2K Focus ST GTX 2867r turbo Full bolt-ons E40 tune (JST tune) Camaro SS 1LE Cammed Bolt-ons 93 Tune Turbo 5.3L Silverado
That st was no joke. Those things are monsters if you go big turbo. Decent low end power but it’s crazy to watch one take a v8 on the top end every time.
It’s not a fast ST it’s a quick ST. Fast is for describing top speed or 1/4 mi speed, not acceleration runs, that’s what the word “quick” is. And this old heavily modded Camaro was no quicker than a new 2016-2020 model. So in reality not a quick ST, just a slow Cam SS.
My big turbo 2012 msp 3 puts down 367whp. From a 60 roll in 3rd I'm at 5k with full 22lbs at WOT. Haven't raced a SS but walked away from a bolt on srt challenger, Infiniti q50 tuned and a stock 2021 Supra.
I'm not sure but I may have seen that Focus ST over by the Medical Center in Houston. I have a 2014 Focus ST, fully stock ☹️. Maybe if I didn't have cancer I would have put money in to my ST!! I WANT THAT TURBO AND INTERCOOLER!!
I have an ST, Im like 50 and Im here cause last night I blew the doors off a Civic Si that was harassing the entire Freeway. Dude wouldn't let anyone pass, he was fast and had no lights on, he would race anyone trying to get by. I hit his top speed in what seemed a second, left him dark in the middle in the freeway lol 127mph comes quick I hit 145....something ?
I wish the factory turbo on our ST's was bigger...it sucks the stock one is limited to 300fwhp. Though we get a lot of torque and we get it fast... my '16 FoST is fully bolted and tuned (Cobb for now) but I still find myself wanting more on the top end. Thinking of going with a hybrid that bolts in, good for another 50-80whp...but nowhere near the big turbo numbers. Advantage though, requires zero other upgrades. Stock fueling, cooling, etc. Just a new tune. Sweet vid, love seeing the FoST's representing out there!
Most (98%) of FBO ST’s can barely get to 285 whp. The stock DI are limited to 310 whp, and fueling itself is limited to around 365:whp, but the tiny turbo is the big limiter. It is a shame it didn’t come with a K04 like the 2008-2010 Cobalt SS/TC. I had one. It pushed 340 whp FBO and E40 at 24-25 psi on stock turbo. Pipe dream for the ST. And the ST is heavy. The base car is 3220 lbs, while a ST3 is 3345 lbs. the old balt SS/TC was 2980 lbs.
so how long did that stock clutch last? i got a BNR71 and the xdi35 in the garage..going to stick with the factory clutch until it goes...prob have it kept conservative to 400-430whp until a better clutch goes in to my 2016 ST. Currently FBO E30. nice runs!
Those are MST wheels on the Focus ST right? Are you happy with these wheels? I have bought the same wheels and wanted to know from someone who used them. Thanks!
Ik I’m late but I want to big turbo my st so bad but I’m watching a video and it seems like there’s literally no different. What your whole mod list? I wanna know what I’d have to do to be making your kinda power
essentially, if you're ready for BT, you're likely already FBO. So the only thing you're missing and limited by is the stock turbo and stock fueling. If you want 400-450whp, a bnr67/bnr71 and an upgraded hpfp (bolts right up, but expensive) or 2/4 port aux (great but require tuning) can get you there. If you want more than 450whp, you'll need injectors as well. Over 500whp you'll need an upgraded lpfp (in-tank pump). Stock clutch can last as little as 350whp or as much as 430+...depends on driver, mileage, etc....
@@SouthernStreets ahhh that makes sense now. What turbo is the st running btw? I bought a 2867 for mine and have another block I'm building but I was thinking of getting another turbo..
