The karmic opposite to this speedrun was when a slightly drunk streamer was doing a blindfolded run of Ocarina of Time, and unknowingly glitched out of bounds, spending several minutes confused as hell as Link meandered around in the Shadow Realm
"im not a bad person, this was just good fun, just a joke" making people think youre seriously participating in something until you get caught and have to apologize is just a joke guys
Why should he apologize though, lmfao saying sorry for doing a fake speedrun? Just take your L and move on to something new lmfao. People are going to hate you regardless if you apologize or not, in fact most people will forget you even existed, and that this incident ever happened because it's existence is so insignificant.
I did this once during a game of "pin the tail on the donkey" at a birthday party when I was a little girl and I won a Disney notebook and pen. Felt guilty ever since.
Speedrun cheats are a special kind of odd. The only people who care about your speedrun are the exact people who dissect every move and every decision you make in your run.
I mean it's pretty unfair to the legitimate ones? Afaik there are websites where they register their speedruns and compete with each other, isn't there? Don't know much about this topic.
Except that's only true if you are competing for the top times. I can guarantee you that a ton of mediocre times on many games and categories are cheated, but nobody gives a fuck about them.
He's not reading the chat, he has tts. Still, since blindfolded runs use sound cues, no one has stream notifications on during runs Someone said he did actually read chat at some point but I only saw him respond to the comments that got read out
@@theuniverse5311 many fabrics look opaque until you get close to them, at which point you can see through them to some extent. So it would likely still hinder him to some extent, but it is nowhere near as bad as a real blindfold.
This is obviously Clara’s fault she obviously replaced his blindfold with a see through blindfold and he couldn’t tell until the end when he finally apologized
The fact some guy offers him $50 just to do a “simple” trick (simple if you’re good as blindfold speedruns) and he refuses. Thats basically an admission of guilt.
The speedrunning mod community is never to be messed up with, they'd prove you're cheating using sound missing cues, frame analysis, loading splices, and even prove you have a 1 in 13 billion luck like no one else!
@@ferminangelcarhuajulcaguil1196 Bruh most speed runners are extremely intelligent. You’re calling them lowlifes because they can do something you can’t? Weird.
*Runs the whole game flawlessly 'blindfolded' without much difficulty* Hehe.. Let's gooooo! *Someone bets him $50 if he can beat Bowser turned around with a blanket on his head* Uh, no.
The work that goes into making/ learning strategies that work while blindfolded, coming up with backup strategies in case something goes wrong, and memorizing everything while constantly having to keep track of where you are is incredible. People like Bubzia and Nobori who do legitimate blindfolded Mario speedruns put a crazy amount of work into this!
@@synister9059 I mean when what you like to do is playing videogames blindfolded, yeah, obviously. I literally just said that. Are you stupid or something?
i laughed when he FROZE once asked to do it backwards with a blanket on his head if he was doing a LEGITIMATE blindfolded speedrun, he'd have NO issue doing that. he can't see anyway, what's the difference?
Doing it backwards would be different, you'd have to learn some new strats, and you'd be going BACKWARDS. I dont want that with vision, and i doubt others want to do that blindfolded. Of course he is still faking but thats not the reason
@@aginger-ph8cl what they meant by going backwards is physically turning around so it would be impossible to see the screen. doing an actual blindfolded run, that's no different than just playing the game blindfolded, cause they can't see anyway
Pretty sure this same dude also read a twitch chat message while he was in the middle of a "blindfolded" run. His head turns, he reads chat then goes back to playing, He is legit.
I love how when a viewer said that they'd donate 50 bucks for him to turn around with a real blindfold on he pretended to think about it despite his answer being very clear. The chat member was testing him and he failed. I mean, why else would he turn down 50 dollars to do literally the same thing he did, but with a blanket on his face? How rich is this dude that a cool $50 means nothing to him? Evident by his empty chatroom he probably needs it. "hmm, let me think about it... 50 bucks to do nothing? Eh... NAH"
Getting away with cheating while speedrunning is the most difficult thing to do in the world. The community of that game will analyze the frames, your behavior, the audio, the probability, the coding, the individual pixels to see if you're cheating.
His audience (most of it) actually fell for it. Once he said that was only his third blindfolded speedrun his viewers should’ve smelled a whole gallon of cap
I must admit, it was rather noble of Charlie to be so humble about his acting career. As we all know he carried the Hunger Games on his back, yet, he evidently doesn't like pushing that onto actors who are still just starting out, such as the cheating speedrunner we see before us. Bravo Charlie. Perhaps this man can learn a thing or two from your acting expertise.
"I'm not a bad person, I just; lied, took peoples money for the lie, continued to back that lie until it was unfeasible, then came forward to tell everyone it was just a goof and you're a bully if you keep saying mean things about me. " I don't know man, those sound like the action of a pretty standup guy.
So the guy is doing a blindfolded speedrun, but he keeps frequently adjusting the camera angles instead of just keeping it at its' default position? Sounds legit to me ngl
@@error_skerrt I'd MAYBE believe the speedrunner if he was using sound cues but the fact that he enabled TTS on his stream is really strange, considering how subtle some of those sound cues are
The way he falls of something and catches a ledge several times and clearly knows about it confirmed by him cheering "YES!" is outstanding. Admittedly I know very little about this game compared to most here but I don't at all remember the game audibly telling you that your miraculous save just happened. Like you said, why? 🤣🤣🤣
There's definitely audio cues for landing in any way - grabbing a ledge, falling down, etc. The parts that are ridiculously sus are the micro movements and all the stuff done with zero setup. The parts that are blatant cheating are stuff like the final bowser throw, the mips clips, etc. - the way they happen are straight impossible to do blindfolded.
mario makes a grunt sound when he ledge grabs and pulls himself up, though you are right in saying that the reaction is wrong for someone who shouldn't really know where he is on the map and he nearly died
The funniest part about this is when one his viewers challenged him to actually blindfold himself with a blanket and the expression on his face and the no afterwards says it all lmao
I think that guy is wearing a pillow on his head as extra motivation to do well. If he's too slow he'll suffocate, so it must be a pretty high level technique.
12:24, how tf do you do an accidental fake speedrun like "OOPS, my blindfold just so happens to be see through, Amazon must've shipped a see through one instead of the super eye-covering blindfold I ordered!"
“ A psa to anyone, never start an apology video like that, that is the most cliche shit ever, I’m surprised he doesn’t have a dog in his lap... Ruff...” best line so far from Charlie💀🖤
@Sherri T[A]P Me!! To Have [S]EX With Me To be fair I don't think there's anything wrong with a person, even one legitimately not a bad person to feel the need to say it. Most people will not be comfortable enough with letting their character speak for itself, even if they're right. It's very hard to resist the urge to defend yourself in some fashion. Anyway, many think cheating makes you a bad person (obviously not talking about video game cheats, but cheating in something competitive like speedrunning) so it further makes sense that he would operate under the assumption that people think he's a shitty person for it.
This is all Chris Pratt’s fault, this never would have happen if they made Charlie Mario in the new Mario Movie coming to theaters in holiday of 2022 by Illumination creators of Despicable Me and The Grinch.
Him saying that "He is not a mean spirited person" when nobody is really saying that is a sign of his insecurity... which isn't surprising being that only insecure people will cheat to get what they want
12:46 he said "doodoo" lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, life note: NEVER try cheating at speed running, they WILL find out. Edit: Just thought about it, but to be fair, I suppose in practice it would be easy to spot someone faking doing something blind folded in general. *But* it's the fact of just how factual the narrator is when it comes to the art of knowing the ins and outs of blindfold speedruning in the first place, is the main pont here
no no, he's just got his foot on the N64 and can tell exactly what's going on in-game by reading the grooves of the disc through his toes, isn't it obvious?
this man's passion, desire and drive for speedrunning was so great he summoned the spirit of billy mitchel to become a disk drive and strive for automaton accuracy
I deeply respect the speedrunning community and their passion towards legitimacy and fairness. To all the people thinking about cheating? Don't even try.
Ah yes, all in good fun and as a 'joke' where people had to donate money in order for him to see and interact with his audience. He definitely robbed everyone who believed that run
"I'm so good at blindfolded! I'm literally a God amongst men. This is my 3rd ever blindfold run!" *Do the bowser boss again for $50. Just turn around with a blanket. Nothing you can't handle.* "......." I love how he was thinking of the possibilities. "I could say no and look Hella guilty, or say yes and fail and look Hella guilty." Hey man, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
10:59 Notice the guy on the left being credited for his legitimate blindfolded speed run had to put his eyeglasses back on after taking his blindfold off while the derpy faker took his off to reveal he had been wearing his the whole time.
Cheating speedruns is so dangerous. Even if you tried to play the game legitimately sometime after you've been proven to be a cheater, it's very likely you'll be denied entry onto the leaderboards. Don't cheat, it's not worth it and the community WILL find out eventually.
My favorite part of speedrun cheaters is that EVERYTIME they get caught, without fail, they either claim is was SUPPOSED to be caught, as a joke, or give some sappy "I know I did a horrible, horrible thing" speech where it's obvious they only regret getting caught.
Throughout the whole run that guy who is "blindfolded" just can't keep his eyes off the screen. He even snaps back right onto looking at the screen after talking to chat for a bit.
Watch his head at 5.40 he can't help himself from spinning his head as he moves around the moving round platform in a circle. Clearly looking at screen. Also watch his head the whole time during the speedrun and you will see tiny moves of his head as he moves his eyes.
I watched a small streamer do a bindfold Starcraft 2 campaign once. After a lot of practice with individual stages and coming up with some strats he finally decided to do the whole run. On a map he didn't practice cause he was confident that it would be no problem, things just kept compounding on him and problems kept coming so he basically just gave up because of the mental pressure of failing over and over. Kudos to the guy for working hard on it and reaching as far as he can and this loser just spits on all the hardwork that people like those I watch whi actually decide to go through all the hardships that a blindfold run entails.
Just so everyone knows this guy admitted to this being a complete “joke” and it just being a comedy but for his twitch chat. This is old news. However.. doesn’t make much sense that he would try and submit his run into leaderboard while claiming it’s just an “inside-joke-with-twitch-chat kind of run”
