I really like the "Explain yourself, knave.", don't get me wrong, but the "I have SEVERAL objections." feels just as powerful. This is a good video.

I remember telling my mom how weird I thought it was that the school said to resolve conflicts “peacefully and calmly” because I knew that no way you can stop a bully just by asking nicely unless ur very lucky somehow. Then my mom said: Oh if you ever need to in a very specific circumstances when protecting a victim, you can use physical force, I’ll deal with the talking at the office

If I was one of Rebecca's parents, I'd have escalated things until that principal was fired. If Becca hadn't done what she did, Greg might not be with us today, and the school could have faced a massive lawsuit, and possibly even been closed down in the worst case. By standing up to Millie, Becca may very well have saved the jobs of everyone who worked at the school.

Luckily for me I had one good teacher who stood up for me and my friends when we got bullied instead of punishing. She was actually known as the scary teacher so went I went into her class for the first time I was terrified. She was actually surprisingly friendly and as the school year progressed I realized she wasn't mean or scary. She was just sticking up for what was right. I think the kids who said she was scary were just getting mad when they'd have to behave. She got me out of some pretty tough things and im grateful. Thanks Mrs. M ❤

I had a reputation at my school as the kid who got in a lot of fights. What that reputation didn't explain was that I ended a lot of fights, I did not pick them. Whenever someone picked on me or bullied me, I fought back. It got me in a lot of trouble, but you know what? After I got that reputation people would rarely pick on me. And those who did would quickly learn why that wasn't a smart Idea. It also helped that my Dad was a lot like your Mom, and had stood with me thick and thin whenever I was involved in a fight. Really goes to show how bogus school punishments are that the victim of a bully needs to defend themselves from the school as well.

It's so nice that you were the only soul that made Greg feel that people are not bad. It reminded me about a friend whose people simply hated him for....nothing. He was tall and bulky,very intimidating, but it was him who became one of my trustworthy friends. People were very unjust with him :(

Reminds me of the fourth grade. A frequent bully of mine shoved me in the hall while I was holding a school laptop, almost making me drop it. So when I passed him going into class, I blew a raspberry at him. Yaknow, like a child. I then got called down to the principal office where I got marked for a SUSPENSION because I “almost gave him pink eye”. I was a foot away from this kid, in motion, walking past him when I stuck my tongue out and blew a raspberry at him. That remains to be the only mark on my record to this day and I will NEVER live it down

It's always nice when parents have your back. My parents always told me that if I needed to defend myself or my sister to do so without fear of punishment on their end. "Don't start fights but if you get dragged into one then you gotta learn how to finish them". My mom even encouraged my oldest brother to kick another boy's ass that had started a fight outside our house, this boy that had been picking on my brother for months mind you. My parents don't mess around they trust us enough to know we aren't gonna throw a punch unless someone deserves it.

I need to be completely honest with you, Rebecca. (Don't worry, you're not in trouble.) Your channel shares a vaulable theme in common with The Iron Giant; both are crimminally under-rated with a heavy emphasis on "criminally". I feel like you're like a second mother to me along with the rest of your Explainers and Entertainers with how thoughtful, loving, and heart-felt (There's more than those, but I don't want to risk a sea of water works.) you've been to all of us. You remind me of my high school choir teacher, Ms. Turley (Mama Turley to her "kiddos"; AKA her students.) who was such a sweetheart who let us watch movies in class on occasion (Ususally on the holidays.) and who'd teach us line dances every Friday. She retired the year I graduated, 2018 and she was my first second mother to me and all of her students. She holds a very special place in my heart and I hope she's living her life to the fullest. i’ve never faced severe bullying (at least irl), but it warms my heart to think about the fact that becca’s story videos can inspire young audiences so much to follow in the path of what she did right and stick up for themselves. all the love to you and everyone who reads this

I was harshly bullied in around the ninth grade in English class by someone who just loved to torment me about how much I sucked for liking dinosaurs a lot. Essentially, being a nerd. And this went from constantly grabbing my attention to humiliate me in front of the entire class just so I can scream in front of everyone to bugging me with questions that halted any and all class activity because it was bugging me so much. Which even bugged the teacher! And she was so sweet and stood up for me. And yet he STILL bullied me! It got so bad to points where I would cry in front of everyone and, again, was humiliated! And this happened across classes too. Not with the same person, mind you, but with a lot of the people in my classes. I’d be made fun of, humiliated, pushed around, made fun of, be the absolute floor mat and punching bag of the school. And the final straw with this bully was when we were watching a movie that spoke up about racism and he would CONSTANTLY interrupt the movie by asking me questions just to annoy me and the worst was when he started pushing the desk behind me so it could hit me behind the head. And that was the final straw! And everything stopped from there! I blew up in front of him and stormed out to the principal’s office to talk about him and his… pardon me, shitty behaviour. And after that… I don’t think I ever saw him again. I’m pretty sure I got him expelled. Which… I don’t feel too good for myself for doing, but it’s what happened. He ruined my life and was harassing and belittling me and making me look like a moron, and I made sure he had an ounce of respect in his body.

You are so awesome and defending another kid is the best thing ever to do for someone.

genuinely screamed watching this video. unexpected ace attorney reference? in MY list of videos i wanna watch? WHAT!!!!!!! ok but that aside, jesus christ that is insane. i used to bite my friends, sure, but ive stopped, and even when i did it was barely that hard. never left any marks. EVER. so the fact that a kid did that at all is INSANE.

Honestly, I always hated that in schools. Even if we do the right thing which they have told us to do, we will still get in trouble.

The amount of times I got in trouble for defending myself and the teachers said they'd call my parents, only for me to find out years later that my parents had no idea most of these had happened. My main theory is that the teachers knew punishing me was bs and that my parents would know it too, and so they just told me they were telling my parents to scare me into behaving -_-

I swear i hear this type of story way too often. People will create an actively hostile environment (more emotionally than physically) and then ask "why do kids not like school? Is learning not fun enough?"
