In order to completely replace the oil in the transfer box, including any deposits due to wear, it is necessary to remove it from the car because it does not have a drain plug.
Nice video and I am glad you properly removed the Transfer Box from the car to drain it. However, the BMW procedure says to drain through the vent hole (top) and not the fill hole. I was looking for a video to demonstrate that. Have you had any issues using the fill hole? Do you check the level once back in the car?
Thanks for the remark, I didn't use the ventilation hole because I didn't want to walk among the components all possible impurities generated from the operation until the time of oil change.
Stuff like this is why people think they can’t work on their own car. That’s way too much for changing the oil. Just suck it out and fill it. It’s supposedly lifetime
