I can’t stand when mothers cover for their son’s crimes against women. It makes me ill. They raise monsters. Love is not worship. Love is not helping them out of whatever situation they’ve gotten themselves into. Sometimes love is NOT enabling them.

The thing that makes me believe Roberta knew Gabby was dead was because she blocked Gabbys mom on Facebook. Like, your future daughter in law is missing! Why are you blocking her mother and retaining lawyers instead of looking for her?

Some how, they think they can snow every one into thinking it was coincidential. If Gabby's van is still in yer driveway, no matter what happened, per him... a fight, argument.... a falling out, it's as if they're trying to show that it was something else other than murder!! Then, no time to "block" more like... contact them n tell them to get the dam van outta their driveway!!! But, yet that didn't happen. The timeline is everything n I know that they want every one to have amnesia... but we were all concerned in real time, well, i mean, as soon as Gabby's Mom stopped thinking the best of them n faced her reality in relation to them!

Because you choose to believe the Petito's allegations with no proof or evidence to back it up. Why did the Petito's take over two weeks to report their daughter missing? Would a desperate and frantic parent not file a missing person's report instead of calling two people not answering their phones? It took less time for them to book an interview with Dr.Phil for 25K after Gabby was found. I smell a rat and it isn't the Laundries.

Mayb to prove his love for his parents he was expected to off himself n the "actions" part of the letter was just the impedus. She's quoting as if on a par w/ God. Speaking of eternity as an eternity of HER love, cuz ya know.. God may not look too kindly on a murder, altho forgiving does not mean un punishable! She's being as deep as she would ever be as this probably was the last connection to her son on earth. Now THAT is very plausible to me.

The problem I have with Roberta’s unconditional “love” for Brian is that she wasn’t just saying she would always love him no matter what he did. She went further to imply that she would also help him hide, cover up, escape the consequences of whatever act he had committed(or might commit). That’s not love. That is worshipping and enabling. It’s not surprising that he was as self centered as he was.
@karenryder6317

Yes, "always loving" doesn't mean you shouldn't speak out against the loved one's behavior. Indeed, to avoid criticism of his/her anti-social acts is the same as condoning them. Parents are supposed to teach their children right from wrong. To actually offer to assist your child person in evading the consequences of anti-social acts is the highest form of enabling and moral dereliction of duty.

Neither of Brian's parents "aided and abetted" him. That would mean they encouraged and helped him strangle Gabby. Clearly they did not. The murder was a crime of passion (not premeditated), and Brian was in another state on the other side of the country at the time. He told his parents well after the fact. Dr. Grande is correct in saying that the parents have the legal right to remain silent, granted by the 5th amendment. That's why they consulted a lawyer to make sure they were not breaking the law. I don't have kids, but I also would not stop loving them if they committed a crime. I would hopefully seek justice for the victims and get help for my child, but I wouldn't stop loving them.

So I have a question…if your son returns home alone after having departed on vacation with his fiancée, and upon arrival declares that despite having returned alone that nothing whatsoever happened to Gabby (aside from Gabby neither returning with your son nor directly to her own family), and you have no reason to believe your son had anything to do with her disappearance, then why would you hire an attorney that very same day? The fact is his parents hired an attorney because they had reason to believe Brian was responsible for her disappearance. They hired an attorney the day he came home, they blocked communication with her parents, and refused to even refer to their former future daughter in law by her first name. Ladies and gentlemen, there is no question whether Brian’s parents knew. They knew the moment Brian told them and asked for their help.

Whoever agrees to silence about a murder and goes as far as to say what she said about the body is as guilty as the one who committed a murder in my opinion. As a victim of domestic violence, this tragedy is very close to home when I think that it could have been me or any other person who gets herself or himself involved with a psychopath like him. @LoneStarLady- Год назад
@@CapnWack no sir , it is you who does not. An accessory-after-the-fact is someone who assists 1) someone who has committed a crime, 2) after the person has committed the crime, 3) with knowledge that the person committed the crime, and 4) with the intent to help the person avoid arrest or punishment. An accessory after the fact may be held liable for, among other things, obstruction of justice. Title 18 of the U.S. Code deals with crimes and criminal procedure. Accessory-after-the-fact has been codified in 18 U.S. Code § 3. In Bollenbach v. United States, 326 U.S. 607 (1946), the Supreme Court refused to apply principal liability (either as a principal in the first degree or as a principal in the second degree) to an accessory-after-the-fact. This contrasts with the ability of an accessory before the fact to have principal liability.

Why are the parents responsible for reporting a criminal act? Its a hard position to be in and seeking an attorney was actually the right thing to do because after the dust settles you dont know what price you can end up paying for the supidity of your adult son. The state is supposed to investigate and prosecute. If the laudries lied to law enforcement then maybe that will be soomething (but they probably communicated through an attorney). Eitherway this man was an adult and it was he who committed a crime. Morally speaking its a good thing to say what you know but consider that you may have a lot lf assets on the line for something you did not do.

Then the Petitos should have done something on this day: Aug 12, 2021. Moab Utah. Gabby called her mother from the backseat of the police cruiser. These statements are from the Petito v Moab lawsuit. 3. Gabby contacted her family to tell them that the couple had been fighting, that Brian had hit her, and that the police had been called. The family immediately responded by beginning to arrange for Gabby to fly home and to have her van shipped home, to separate her from Brian. 98. Gabby then called her parents. 99. On that call, Gabby’s parents demanded that Gabby fly home to get away from Brian, offering to pay for her ride to Salt Lake City and her flight home. But upon learning that the police were involved, Gabby’s parents accepted Gabby’s assurances that she should continue her trip. Gabby’s parents relied to their detriment on the police officers involved to evaluate the situation and intervene as necessary to protect Gabby. But for the officers’ failure to investigate and follow Utah law, Gabby’s parents would have intervened to end the trip and bring Gabby home.

@avaggdu1

We all overlook the flaws of other people. When does it become a red flag instead of just an interpersonal relationship? "He gets a bit grumpy when he's tired", "He gets argumentative when he's had a few drinks", "He doesn't like to be interrupted when watching the game on TV", "He swore at me for not cooking dinner as he likes", "He slapped me after we argued and I called his mother a bitch"...."red flags" are incremental and as they escalate once you've accepted one the next becomes more tolerable. People end up gaslighting themselves on top of any other control/abuse by their partner; some people are in situations where they feel they cannot escape an abusive relationship. It takes an awful lot of courage to say "enough is enough" even when you can see what is happening. I've been lucky that I've escaped such abusive relationships before anything serious happened, usually at quite a lot of personal loss and after a lot of time. Now I'm out the door at the first whiff of a red flag. I say that as a heterosexual man, so it's not just mothers and daughters who need to be advised when to just walk away, how to do it safely and from whom you can get help.

Thanks again. I found the letter downright incestuous. And my thoughts were “Classic sentimentality of the parents that create a narcissist”. And then you suggested at the end of your talk, something exactly that way which was reassuring-/ you said that perhaps Brian expected that kind of over the top adoration from all females.I’ve watched and listened yo many true crimes where tje child can do nothing wrong. That isn’t a sign of love - its that the kid us an extension of its parents’ ego. Its such a common theme. Thats why it hit me they created a narcissist. Your analysis is "spot on" The values these parents have with regards to protecting their son at all cost. Their son committed suicide and I believe his mother new his final resting place. The letter was an attempt to avert the suicide and bring him back home. In the end the parents should of drove him to the police station and turned him in. Unconditional love doesn't mean covering for the kids' crimes. NO way. That woman is guilty as hell and I do think the Petitos do have a case. I hope the Launderies pay. A loving mother would have written: come back and I'll be with you all the way. If you need to go to jail, I'll visit you all the days they allow me to and write to you tons of letters; if you need to dispose of a body I'd ask you to confess your crime instead and I'll walk with you through hell and back again. This letter was very disturbing. I don’t believe for a second that it was written before the trip. I suspect that it was written when he returned home. Roberta had a strange relationship with Brian. Roberta is taking away Brian’s individuality. She’s saying “I know you will always love me too”. That’s quite an assertion. I think the lawsuit is interesting. Bertelino made those statements on behalf of the Laundries when he should have just said “No comment”. The public and media were already making a lot of assumptions about Brian and his parents. They should have just used their right to remain silent and as an attorney you’d have thought Bertolino would have done that. It reminds of that attorney who represented Brian Kohberger when he was arrested in Pennsylvania. That attorney couldn’t stop making statements that for weeks after he no longer represented Kohberger. Sometimes attorneys who aren’t used to being involved in high profile cases can be overwhelmed with the questions from media and say the wrong thing. I think that’s what happened here. Bertolino even included himself in the statement saying “our” instead of “their”.

There are quite many telltale signs of what I previously said. One is if the trial will be televised. One is that there are so many modeled pictures of Gabby. Those look like a professionally created media package, not a dude with issues taking pictures of his exceptionally pretty girlfriend. One is the outlandish premise of the trial. One is the set date, implying that there will be entire year's worth of material. The dude did not want to spend that much time on this, so they had to write his suicide into it. But the most glaring one is everyone constantly talking to the media.
