honestly!! its all about the details of the shape of the dress, something with a lower waist like the dress they picked shouldn’t cause much problem, but idk why all the dresses in the bridesmaids section of this show are atrocious

A form fitting dress would not suit the bigger girls. They think they’re making themselves look smaller but it’s the opposite

I really don't understand why ppl agree to be bridesmaids if they know they won't wear what the bride wants. Just say sorry I'll be a guest, I still like you but that dress is more important than you. Besides, in this case, they don't even know the girl and causing trouble already

She picked curvy women as bridesmaids and she doesn’t seem to understand or be open to their concerns. Who cares you like the dress? The cousin looks horrible in a halter top with half bare back. It’s the bridesmaids who have to wear those dresses. Let them pick or alter the design so they don’t feel like they look horrible.

I just have to make one more observation. At one point, when the one soon to be sister-in-law "claims" that the other soon to be sister-in-law "is the strongest person I know," I had to laugh. People like that think they are strong, but they are not. What they are is opinionated, selfish, self-involved, and insecure. If they really were strong, they would be the better person and be accommodating instead of throwing a tantrum. Just sayin.

They already feel too comfortable frowning and wineing about everything in front of the camara while they barely even know her.

Yeah, same. Their understanding of what different fits do is backward. I can understand them not liking or being comfortable in a certain style, but as a plus-sized woman myself, I ALWAYS look better in an A line over fitted.

I think part of it was how all that loose fabric feels, especially at that length. It looks more flattering imo but can feel less secure. Even though you’re not showing more than in a fitted dress, I can imagine someone feeling like they are because nothing’s holding the skirt in place. Tummy feels exposed and stuff if I’m making sense. It feels like there’s less control over where the skirt falls.

If Ina is the lady that was crying...no one was doing anything to her but she was struggling with her body which apparently hasn't been dealt with. I don't think she wanted to make the bride feel uncomfortable the way she did but she was overwhelmed by something from within because of the situation. Although it should be about the bride I understand ina's situation.

I think they are used to get what they want, when they start crying. Terrible childish behavior. My aunt does this, too: "meeehhh You think I am stupid, fat and ugly". I swear, one of these days I will say yes.

That and options that aren't strapless for those who need the extra support, or simply aren't comfortable showing skin. Imagine being cut out from your only brother's wedding because the bride wouldn't let the would-be maid of honor (me) get her dress with straps.

I don’t know why that isn’t presented as a choice. It’s not like the bridesmaids are joining the army or some other institution where uniforms are required.

@@dsquared1950 honestly it would make the bridesmaids look like guest at the wedding who was told the color scheme. I saw a photo of something similar and I thought that they just attended the wedding but wasn't in the wedding. 🤷

@@Crackpot_Astronaut having big boobs sticking out isn't everything. It's a wedding not a nightclub. A line usually makes everything look even. They're also very forgiving. and empire waistlines do the same unless you are extremely flat chested, which she is not

@@MsJubjubbird What haha I didn't say anything about "big boobs sticking out." It just wasn't flattering in my opinion, and didn't look like it even fit her horizontal measurements. The bust looked oddly high up and small 🤷‍♀️ Maybe I'm just not fashionable. It just didn't look right to me.

@@Crackpot_Astronaut that's an empire waist. like the opposite to a drop waist. very classic and very forgiving as it flows away from the natural waistline. also very big ten years ago when this was filmed. not that fashionable now. I kept all my clothes from then because of how kind they are. and also practical because you can move a lot. They will order the dresses to fit the individual bridesmaid. The dress on the rack is too small.

Not everyone has that kind of money...... It could be money, it could be something else. Maybe she fell out with her friends for some reason after she left Texas...?

@Ellen Mason I wondered the same thing. Eight hours driving time could have been planned or arranged considering it’s a once in a lifetime event. At least a few of them could have been there for her.

If she is paying for a full wedding with bridesmaids dresses, I do wonder why she wouldn't be able to fly at least 1 family member out.

@@almohvn33 I know it’s easier said than done, but I agree. If someone isn’t happy with their looks, change it. In high school I was the biggest dweeb 😂🤓 I had braces, a very short, boyish haircut, acne, and was about 60 lbs. overweight. After I graduated I would wear baggy clothes all the time and a clip-on ponytail because I hated how I looked. I grew my hair long, got it dyed, had my braces removed, started an acne treatment regimen, and started dieting/exercising. I got down to about 100 lbs. and bought a whole new wardrobe. I had a breast lift surgery after all the weight loss. When I ran into old friends from high school they hardly recognized me. Not only because of the physical changes but because I was more confident and outgoing as well. But I had two choices: keep hiding and be miserable, or change what I was unhappy about.

Nah that first dress was ugly as hell. I hated it she looked awful but I don’t get why she was crying and acting out instead of just saying how she feels. I am also a big girl bigger than ina and have felt how she has but She def had a moment lol

@@dietotaku I agree, the bodice sucked and did nothing to give her shape. I am also confused by everyone saying how good it looked. Maybe I’m just not able to picture what a properly fitted one would look like as it was way too small I think. The red dress looked way better on her imo

…it really depends. Sometimes it works well- but in my opinion it looks like a mess. And honestly it just symbolizes the fact that no one wants to compromise.

I think if you want identical bridal party dresses that’s fine to try, but yeah I understand why a lot of women prefer to just give them a colour. I don’t think it’s a bad thing when brides do want the same dress for everyone, as long as they understand how difficult that’s going to be when your bridesmaids have such a diverse range of body types.

That's selfish AF. I think she catered to that girl because she is still probably trying to fit into her in-laws family.

@@stephaniecook6034 being a bridesmaid is really great thing. It just tells how much the bride cares about you that she wants you to be there on her special day. I agree they should fully respect the brides choice. But the thing is these dresses aint under 100 dollar that they're like whatever it's just for a day. Even if being a bridesmaid is such a big thing, they should still not look hideous on their friends wedding. There will be photos and so many people. Plus it's the bridesmaid who are wearing and paying for it. They should have a right to say no if they feel insecure or really hate it. The best thing is for the bride to choose a color, length, fabric and the bridesmaid to pick their own dresses according to their own budget and bodies. Thats fair to all. Not everyone looks good in everything. And loving your friend is on a side, there are people who have average salaries and wouldn't want to spend over 200 dollars on a dress in which they feel insecure and won't ever wear again

If i thought the bride was gonna try to make me look "hideous" on purpose than I would have never said yes to be her bridesmaid. The bride clearly liked what it looked like on her and now she is going to jeopardize her vision to make an in law happy. I would feel like dirt if I had to make a scene in front of all those people to get what i wanted, and then to get it? I wouldn't be able to sleep from the cringe. Lastly, they said the crying woman was typically very tough and strong. You don't think that personality type gets whatever they want? I highly doubt she would have given anyone, much less an in law that kind of time. She's lucky that girl really loves her brother.

Ina looked horrible in that strapless, fitted dress she was so adamant about wearing. She doesn't seem to understand that fitted is NOT the way to go if you're trying to flatter a bigger figure. When she came out looking like a potato sack insisting it looked the best my mouth dropped open.

Yup. My friend sent everyone a bunch of fabric in the colour she wanted. Gave them some parameters- long dress, not too revealing. no showy add ons until after the wedding etc.- and they could take it to a seamstress and make the dress that they wanted. One bridesmaid was a larger girl and had a top and skirt made because she felt it was more comfortable for her

My mum did the opposite when she had her wedding. Every bridesmaid got the same dress but they could choose the colour as long as they were deeper autumn tones. I think she also let the bridesmaids pick the style as a group. I understand the desire to have the same style of dress - just be realistic about it when you’ve got such a diverse range of body types like this bridal party.

I know lots of brides who have done that. You usually pick a fabric (so the color is exactly the same) and length. Most bridesmaid dresses are made to accommodate this also in that you can get lots of styles in the same fabric.

It's a HUGE trend in bridesmaid dresses to have them all wearing the same (or similar) colors, but the style of the dresses are different to suit each person. Makes dressing bridesmaids much easier!

That’s fairly popular these days. I’ve seen some like that I like and some I don’t. Personally I think it also helps to be the same fabric or they start losing cohesion. There are a lot of brands that have collections where the dresses have an identical skirt but different bodice or neckline, and those work even better imo. If I ever went the same colour/different styles route myself, I’d add the rule that the bridesmaids must also be either all in pairs or all unique dresses (not that I’m anticipating ever having a bridal party so big lol). If half the party is in a matching dress and then the other half are all mismatched it would make it look much messier.
