In this video, I make a custom springer seat for the Briggs bike. The shock is from a full-suspension mountain bike and the seat is made of 3/4" plywood, polyurethane foam, and covered in vinyl.

My ideal motorized or electric bike would for sure be a full suspension. I'm surprised I don't see more full suspension 2-stroke bike builds. If I had a garage & 220V outlet, I'd cut up a couple steel frames & make one.

Agreed, full suspension is the way to go. There's just a lot of engineering that goes into keeping the chain tension in spec during the travel of the rear swing arm and I think that deters a lot of people from trying it. Although with electric hub motors it would be considerably easier.

Great job mate! Just be careful of that metal bracket hitting the rear tyre if you go over a big bump or anything... happend to me on a Honda Cub once and it isn't fun!

haha man I can imagine. I'll have to keep that in mind. Granted I don't plan on riding this bike over any bumps if I can help it.

@@pulsar2121You could always fabricate a small mud guard, would look pretty cool on what I am now christening "The Briggs Rig" lol

Assuming you have one of the typical 2-stroke engine kits, I would suggest going through the checklist below. If that doesn't work for you, I'd recommend you ask on the Motorized Bicycle Builders Facebook page. Try to provide as many details as possible. Best of luck getting up and running! 1. Open carb drain screw until gas comes out to get rid of any air in the fuel line. 2. Make sure choke is in the up position when starting. 3. Pedal as fast as you can and dump the clutch while continuing to pedal. 4. Check for spark by removing the spark plug, leaving it connected to the ignition wire and touching the threaded part to metal for ground, and then pedaling and releasing the clutch. Best to do at night in low light to see the spark on the tip of the electrode.
