You should look into making it a DYI Vapor Blasting Cabinet. It's pretty easy and much more efficient not all that dust.

Awesome. I find some nice trinkets in the scrap pile here, don't know if you got a cool junkyard around you that will let you pick the light iron pile but there is prob some decent money to be had repairing and restoring and filming some more of this!

Good job on doing the sand blasting you did the right thing putting gloves on as the oil from your skin will contaminate the steel allso you used brake clean from contaminates like oxidization 100% right sorry its got mixed up a bit i did tri to edit it a bit but got wers

Big clamps like that are very handy, I've used those for compressing brakes, and for dragging concrete slabs.

You can get a smoother finish if you use glass bead instead of sand. It will take a little longer.

Great work Samantha! For most ferric items, if you soak it in Klean-Strip® Concrete & Metal Prep (seems to be a good value, any high phosphoric acid solution should do) before paint or oil you will get a very rust resistant finish.

what blasting media do you prefer to use for these type of restorations? I heard so many suggestions from fine silica sand, to crushed walnut shells and never know what is best and most effective.

You have good friends. Those C clamps are quite helpful when working on disc brakes (compressing the pistons on the calipers)

Nice clamps like that are pretty expensive these days.

From a dinosaur sandblaster , never touch freshly sandblasted parts with bare hands . The acid on your fingers will leave fingerprints in rust . Mil spec gray metal . Like your videos . Thanks , Barry (dinosaur)

I'm 5'10" and I don't think I could stand on the floor and blast with this cabinet . lol . Put a walk way on it say a 2x12 so you don't fall off .

There is a limited use for very large box end wrenches. The one you have is a small box end wrench (in the ones I am talking about). These wrenches are mostly used for industrial applications. Just saying

Hello Samantha, my dad used to have a toolbox full of nothing but those old wrenches & it was heavy with all those old wrenches in it,I was going to bring it with me to Kansas city, but my older sisters boyfriend was to lazy to get out of his truck to help me bring it out to his truck because at the time I could just barely lift it up that's why I asked him to take it to his truck at the time & that made me mad because he wouldn't help me out with that toolbox & I don't have anything physically that belonged to my dad,he died back in 84 from a heart attack that's why I wanted it for,all I have is pictures of him & I wanted something that he actually had, but that didn't happen because my older sister's boyfriend was too lazy

tell you what you could do to make them tools pop like new money, take gun blue and blue them, then after the gun blue a good coat of 3in1 oil on them to help protect them.
