He skips much information about the Ice Hotel, Safiya Nygaard did a great video about the Hotel. When you book a room at the Ice Hotel , you get two rooms, an ordinary room and a ice room. Then they provide you with real clothes that can take freezing temps.

I don't know what world he lives in if he thinks +27c is normal room temperature? +21 is considered normal room temperature, +23 if you have an illness or are old. Unfortunately this wasn't the best video on the subject as you only got to see his low budget room. There is more ice art in the more expensive rooms. But yes, the ice hotel is insanely expensive, but they rebuild it every year. It's only at the top of the mountains that the snow remains during the summer in Sweden. In Umeå, we almost skipped autumn this year. We have had snow since October 18, which is not normal. -5°c today. The coldest we've had during the day this winter is probably -13°c

North of Sweden gets as warm as the south, typically in July while late June or early August is a hit and miss. The warm days (beach days) of summer are much fewer than the south, just a couple of weeks. There is no spring up there, the snow melts, then it is summer. If you want to avoid the worst period of mosquitos then do not go there in June. My favourite months in the north of Sweden are March (guaranteed sun and snow while not too cold and no mosquitos), and July, warm, sunny and great weather. December-February is just too bloody cold, there is no need to visit that time of the year. Maybe to see the northern lights, otherwise not. And if there is an overcast you will not see it anyway. 🙂

Hi from the North of Sweden, i live just in-between Luleå and Piteå. It's around -10°C here right now but it can get way colder. I have been experiencing -42°C. But that cold is rare, it usually get as cold as around -30°C 😂 I visit the Ice Hotel this summer, half the hotel melts back in to the river in the spring. The other half is a huge freezer with ice rooms that you can sleep in, in the summer time.. ✌🏻☺️ Have a great weekend!

+3 C here in the far south now. -20 C is actually much more comfortable, since it makes for dryer air, the lakes, rivers, and the sea gets a layer of ice which prevents the water from evaporating. The Ice Hotel is rebuilt every winter, while it doesn't get as warm as in the south up there, it can still reach +25 C, so there's no chance of it still standing during summer
@svegable

The ice melt in the spring each year, so they have to rebuild it each year. I think it's the torne river they take the ice from. FYI when you sleep there you'll get a sleeping bag and if that's not enough there's a warm hotel with sauna a few meters away. Yo, we don't kill people who are viting sweden! 🙂

the neat thing about going towards -10 is that the air gets pretty dry so the cold doesn't soak into your clothes the same way as -6 for example. I definately prefer -10 isch before 0 or just below it. You have to keep moving in my experience but other then that it's much better. I don't know how I would be doing sleeping in below -10 degrees though. I would want to move around. have wooly clothes and sturdy leather shoes with wool lining! /swedish horse girl

North of the polar circle the snow gets exchanged for mosqitos every summer. Sleeping without clothes allows your body heat to be trapped more effectively by the sleeping bag's insulation, maximizing warmth. So, in colder conditions, going au naturel in your sleeping bag can keep you cozy. Happy camping!

We have summer like the rest of the country, nice summers and bad summers, weather is always unpredictable. But when it is fine weather it is really fine, warm and sunny. The coastline of Tornedalen is known to have most sunny days in summer compared to the rest of the country! Winter where I live (a little north-west from Umeå in the region of Västerbotten) has normally a temperature between -10 and -15 but dips to -20 /-3 n5ow and then...and sometimes only -6 or -7. I have never sleept outside in winter, just early summer (tent up in the mountains and snowfall at night) and late autumn. A good sleeping bag and not a lot of clothes on is the best and remember; tensed muscles makes you colder, stretch out your body and relax and you will feel warmer.

I think you should start your trip in Denmark, spend a few weeks there... travel to Oslo in Norway a few weeks there too... then take it easy up to Stockholm.. try to arrive around the morning on December 5th so you can make it to Finland by ferry to Helsinki for the evening of the 5th. The you can soend the whole 6th of December, Finlands independence day, in Helsinki. Stay there for a while.. travel north and visit Lapland. From Finnish lapland you can cross back over to Sweden again, and stay in Jukkasjärvi at the ice Hotel.

so The temperature inside an ice hotel room is usually around 23 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Although it's pretty far from tropical, it's not going to plunge too far past freezing.+The ice room has a classic design and holds a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. The bed you sleep on has a thick mattress that rests on a wooden base.The ice structure stops heat being transferred to the surroundings, because the ice and the windless air are both excellent insulators. The buildings depend on sub-freezing temperatures and usually melt in summer, rebuilt again from fresh ice every year.also The coldest day in these 74 years was reported by the Kvikkjokk Arrenjarka weather station. Here the temperature dropped to -51.8 °C in February 2001. Kvikkjokk Arrenjarka lies at an altitude of 315 meters above sea level. The coldest winter (January till March) was in 1966 with an average temperature of -10.3 °C

Dwayne Kiruna is my hometown and the ice hotel is out in Jukkasjärvi which is 18 kilometers from town, here in Kiruna we have 8 seasons and not 4 seasons and we have real summer. The seasons are: Winter, Spring-Winter, Spring, Spring-Summer, Summer, Autumn-Summer, Autumn and Autumn-Winter. Our seasons are based on the seasons of the reindeer, which the Sami follow. This RU-vidr is deceiving you, because when you are at the ice hotel, you actually have to wear a scooter overall to keep you warm. Then when you have to sleep in the ice hotel, you get a thick sleeping bag and when you have to sleep in it, you only have to wear a warm undergarment, because the body heat that radiates is reflected back from the sleeping bag to your body and then keeps you warm. The guy in the video made a mistake by keeping his outerwear on. Then you are woken up in the morning by the staff who bring hot drinks. Every winter a new ice hotel is built with new ice and snow sculptures in the hotel. These are made by chefs from all over the world who are invited to make sculptures. Since mid-spring, the ice hotel melts and the water goes back to Torneälv where the ice hotel is built. If you visit Jukkasjärvi during the summer, they have built a large house that is like a giant freezer and there are also ice sculpture otters. Then the cold is not that dangerous at all if you do the right thing and dress correctly.

As someone who lives in cold climate. I would argue the proper order for heated clothes would be Socks -> Gloves -> Trousers -> Jacket -> Hat. This is as further away from your core you go, to more likely it is that you are suffering from frostbite. Hence feet and hands first. Trousers after that as your legs are most likely to suffer from cold, and after that it would be arms, but there isn't really "arm ware" hence jacket. But as you do want some heat dissipation, head is best for that, Just make sure you keep your ears warm.
