Brock Purdy Is Way Better Than People Think

To all the people who call Purdy a "dink and dunk" QB, watch the film. Purdy knows the routes of his receivers and trusts they will run the routes correctly. MANY times, Purdy has released the pass BEFORE the receiver has even made the break across or to the post. Many passes are thrown BEFORE the receiver is even in the position to look for the ball. He just puts the ball where its' supposed to go and trusts the receiver to get there, as intended. If those catches are wide open, that's due to good play calling by the coach and good route running by the receiver. It is not any indication of a non-skilled QB. These arguments against Purdy, at this point in the season, just make those using them look ignorant.

So nice to see a QB efficiently reading the field, navigating the pocket quickly, and throwing lasers. Compared to the QBs who just aren't doing those things yet lead many teams

thank you for this video, my roommate who is a browns fan and hates all california sports teams was saying how the only reason brock is good is because the offense around him is so stacked just like you mentioned. I wasnt equipped to retaliate with stats and stuff you just mentioned, but i just told him hes sooo wrong. Glock purdy is super talented. Cant wait for this weeks game and for the niners to cream the browns

Purdy throws a catchable ball, like Joe Montana. He can zip it if he has to, but usually just lays it in with perfect touch. If you look at stats and leadership alone, he IS the MVP to this point. I remember when Montana was just a "system quarterback" -- until he went to Kansas City and made that team look like the 49ers.

All you need to know about Brock... He threw a beautiful pass to Aiyuk last week that went for a lot of yards. It got called back for offensive holding. Normally, that's the END of a drive, period. What does he do? He makes an even better pass to Deebo for even more yards, and they later cap that drive off with a touchdown.

Brock as elevated the offense to a different level. I remember everyone was getting down on him for throwing a ton of picks in preseason. I feel like was seeing how to get reaclimated to his arm post surgery and seeing what type of windows he can throw into, in a no pressure situation where the stats are meaningless. As a realist, the Niners aren't going to go undefeated this season (would be amazing if the Niners do!) and Brock will eventually throw a pick. But I will enjoy Purdymania lol

Purdy played at Iowa State. as a resident of said state they don't get the 5-Star recruits by the truckload. They take and coach up 3-star type guys to make the team go. Purdy went toe to toe with OU (winning one game and duelling Hurtz another year 42-41) with significantly less "Talent" around him. Now he has Great talent to play with....and we see what he can be.

On most teams play calling a typical rushing play usually has about 4or 5 options but shanahans offense a typical rushing play can be 13 to 15 different options for a defense to cover and it's obvious this type of scheme is driving defense's crazy

What the hell is the beef over a "system quarterback"? Why is that a slur on a quarterback's greatness? Football is a team sport to the max, where excellence and winning is predicated upon executing "the system's" plays. With this being true, no player is more responsible for making "the system" work than the quarterback. I don't care about such nonsense. If the greatest quarterback ever is on a lousy team, with a bum system, and low level talent, even if he's beyond awesome, he can't carry that team for long, or consistently win. That great quarterback on a crap team may appear heroic, but I'm willing to bet he'd ditch the heroics and choose to be a "system quarterback" in a great system 100% of the time if he had the choice..
