Bucktails for FLUKE! High Low Rigs, Gulp & Bucktails

My fav is the 1/4oz spro on the top on a cut dropper it is absolutely deadly.

very informative video..i do alot of fluke fishing..ive experimented and played with about every kind of terminal tackle on the market including making my own stuff as well..few things you didnt mention that mite be helpful also,,,i go over every thread collar on bucktails with sally hansens hard as nails liberally and it will greatly increase the bucktail life as the thread collar can fray and come apart after only several fish sumtimes..i also found out but never heard anyone mention it but especially in colder water temps fluking by putting your bucktail on the dropper loop and your teaser on the point loop..this keeps both jigs closer to each other and closer to the bottom and 100% at times there was a much better hook up ratio in doing so..we do that alot being a flyfisherman and fishing double nymph rigs..i myself am not a big fan of the swing hook bucktails as for me the hookup percentage was lower as opposed to a fixed hook bucktail which for me i found better and much easier to unhook fish especially if your catching many on a trip but its all personal preference and a confidence thing...i do think s&s bucktails are made great and i mostly use them myself..tite lines and new subscriber..

nice video, looks like the san Diego double jam knot. It's prob the only terminal knot where fluoro beats mono. def the best fluoro knot to tie to a swivel, you know your stuff 👍

When you use a 5 - 6 oz bucktail, do you prefer to change to a rod with a stiffer tip on it, as compared to using a smaller bucktail with a rod with a lighter tip on it?

Do you think the eye on the Skinner bucktail is too far forward? Seems like it would be better for casting than vertical jigging. Curious on your opinion.

This might be a very basic question but when jigging, are you bringing the buck tail off the bottom or keeping the buck tail on the bottom and just making the teaser move?
