As u may know cuz I’ve said before I’m new to keto due to health reasons (type2 diabetes). I WAS excited I lost 17 lbs in a month so I thought then my scale ( digital, could be wrong but I have a regular scale on the way via amazon) but now it show I only lost 10. Was it the scale or am I gaining weight back😩? I’m getting discourage. First two weeks I ate 3meals a day keto mostly meat and veg only. Boring. Then next two weeks ate OMAD cuz I don’t be hungry and seem like I gained BUT THE BEST PART IS MY NUMBERS ARE FANTASTIC ( I took myself off my meds it’s been a week now, no problems there) Blood sugar apprx 91-120 no higher and BP 116/72 (71). I never got these results even w/ my meds so I’m good there.....WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT?!!!! I ONLY EAT TWO MEALS A DAY NOW (example no Brkfst cuz I fast from 6pm to 2pm plus I’m not hungry. Then 2pm I have a protein shake and cheese stick, then dinner grill chicken w/ 1c green beans and I’m stuffed . Help Please why am I stuck already in a month?

Thanks for the in depth review of the fresh meat. Costco's frozen grass fed hamburger patties are an excellent option and probably the best ground beef at Costco. Also, the frozen wild caught Alaskan sockeye salmon filets are excellent. Were you only focused on fresh meat, or meat at Costco? I always bypass the fresh hamburger at Costco for the better quality patties and always grab a bag of the wild caught salmon filets. Usually head over to Aldi for the grass fed & finished hamburger. I enjoyed the detail on the video.

If you like Costco meat, you should check out a Costco Business Center. There’s only 17 locations (I live in San Diego, but I know there’s one in Dallas) in the US, but their meat prices are even better than your run of the mill Costco because they are catering to small businesses and restaurants. I also find halal lamb, duck, and pork riblets, which are becoming some of my favorite pieces of meat. I save the disc bones and use them for making stock. They also have pork belly slabs with the skin on, so you can make homemade cracklin’s, which I will do eventually. This allows them to have different products, so instead of electronics, they’ll have commercial and/or industrial kitchen gear. Instead of clothing, toys, and seasonal items, they’ll have a massive selection of beverages, some of them keto friendly. This also allows them to have a gigantic refrigerator section for cheese, dairy, and meat (select, choice, and prime). I think a prime brisket is something like $40 for 18 lbs of meat.

I don't eat super healthy either because I can't afford it. But the fasting is still having excellent benefits. I don't feel any pain in my body from even though im at the age where dealing with pain is normal for my age group (late 40s). You can still do lots of free things that can change your life. Learn meditation, healing cold showers (wim hof), tape your mouth at night to stop snoring (james nestor).

You're doing a wonderful job Angelika! I hate that covid has made life to difficult for people like yourself on fixed income and doing part time work. Heck! It's made things difficult and unaffordable for most people. But it's especially upsetting when people like yourself who have contributed to society for so long and deserve better are suffering. I hope you are doing well, in good health, and that things have gotten better for you.

Costco always has great wild caught fish sides that can be broken down into at least 6 meals. When you put into that context the price is very good. You mentioned the Steelhead, it is a better alternative to the farmed Atlantic salmon. At the very least, it tasted quite a bit better than the farmed salmon.

@@Lucinda_Jackson Wild salmon tends to be reddish-orange, while farmed salmon is pink. The point I was making is the color difference is because the farmed Salmon is fed antibiotics that have coloring to keep them from getting sicker because they are being raised in unhealthy ways. I don't think a colorblind person cares about the hue of the Salmon they want to know why. My understanding may be out of date from years ago, but to me the pills sound more logical than activity levels. Tom, have you ever tried the sirloin from Costco? They have the USDA prime that is very affordable and oh so tender but best of all they're super lean. Even the choice grade is surprisingly tender and flavorful compared to a grocery store paper thin sirloin. I like to chop them up into chunks and cook them in a fire hot pan and sear for a few minutes. Otherwise cooking them on high temp creates a lot of smoke. Lean meat=More smoke. If u haven't tried you must!

Researched this term used WILD CAUGHT some time ago. What I found out is that WILD CAUGHT is farmed raised and released to be caught. This is their way to skirt the law. To be able to label it WILD CAUGHT and not just FARMED. This means they are also fed when young pellets. The bottom line is this .... if you don't hunt it yourself and butcher it yourself .... you may never really know and even then it could be self corn fed

So I regularly buy a 10lb tube of ground beef at $1.94/lb (Tennessee) - 80/20. I cook it (like browning for say, spaghetti) and pour it into a sieve and let it drain into a pan. Then I freeze-dry it - line stainless steel tray with a layer of paper towels - by the time it is done I am confident it a good state (not too greasy/fatty) The paper towels have very little fat/grease on them - sometimes I can use them again. I vacuum pack into 1/2 gallon mason jars where they are now shelf-stable and will store for up to 25 years at room temp.

Hi Thomas, I am concerned about the meat that Costco sells that indicates that it is blade tenderized. As a result of blade tenderizing their meats, they recommend cooking to medium to well-done. From what I understand, all of their beef is "blade tenderized" with the possible exception of the filet mignons. We still cook our steaks to medium rare despite the warning from Costco, but we recognize we are taking a risk. I don't understand why they feel the need to blade tenderize...

I found that, for the most part, I didn’t need to make much of any adjustment at all. But I had lowered my calorie intake a tiny (and I mean tiny) bit a couple of times during my loss. I lost a few pounds more than I was planning for but found that it pretty much righted itself on its own. I did a minimal amount of extra calories, but only in the form of protein and fat - no carbs. Like another slice of cheese here, an extra slice of bacon there, a few extra pepperoni crisps or another half an avocado there...

When it comes to agriculture, I think of them as food. I just don't have any ethical issues with eating lamb or veal. It's food. Moreover, I think of things from a culinary standpoint. I've been to culinary school and I want to learn how to best prepare food, no matter what it is I'm working with.

I eat it, too, but only if it’s from at least organic chicken. And I was buying pastured chicken locally until the pandemic and I didn’t worry about that at all. They did occasionally supplement with organic feed, but no soy and it wasn’t often - I live in an area with a climate where chickens can be outside pretty much year round.

@priestesslucy3299 3 года назад
@@Lucinda_Jackson even as little as a quarter acre is absolutely enough land to drag a chicken tractor across to raise some pastured chicken of your own. Say it's a small, 30 bird tractor (load it with a few extra at the start to account for losses) most places have enough growing season to raise 3 batches. That's 90 birds per year for your family that you know 100% what they ate and how they lived.

@@priestesslucy3299 Thanks so much! I wish I could! I’ve always wanted to keep some chickens. Unfortunately, I cannot, so it’s either back to farmers or organic grocery store chickens. I’m hoping someone who can raise chickens sees your comment and asks you for details and raises some!

@@Lucinda_Jackson lumnah acres has a great 6 foot by 6 foot design that's light and easy to move. Great video, I chose Mr Silverster Wilfred to handle my trading because of his knowledge on fundamental and technical analysis. In general, the more quality information one takes in to improve the odds of being right, the better one’s trading results are likely to be.

I thought Bobby confirmed with costco directly that the Costco Organic beef is Grass Fed even though it doesn't say that....
@airplaychay1612
@airplaychay1612 3 года назад
The other thing that Bobby pointed out is that most Costco beef is blade tenderized (the fillets aren't). Since blade tenderizing punctures the the surface the meat, you need to cook the meat thoroughly. Personally, I do not want a well-done rib-eye.

We don’t have that meat selection at our Costco in Fairbanks. Far less and the same goes for the cheese video you did. Also Butch Box won’t ship to Alaska. Very few selections of places to shop and very little grass fed grass finish if you can find it. Very very little local meat and you have to be lucky to get it. We do have salmon we caught in the freezer but my husband doesn’t like fish.
