Also design your table slats with points on both sides, that way you can flip it over as it gets used up, it also helps water flow to your drain. The points can be as simple as a series of zigzag shapes.

I think I prefer the down draft table. But they are to expensive for what in trying to do.

I'm not knocking your ideas but you really need to configure a THC, torch height controller to help your plasma cutter do what its supposed to do. There are a ton of simple DIY examples of a controllable Z-axis that won't cost very much to add to your system. You'll thank me the first time you cut thin material and it warps from the heat. Its also a key factor to rate of consumables wear.
