FYI, the methods spoken about in this video for the RE-7B were fixed a while ago. This video does still explain how pretty much any top speed bug you ever see in the game works though.

@@justinlynch3 5 years later, Rockstar's made the fix. Just limit the revs and make the gears go up really fast on hitting kerbs and bumps, a la, the Visceris and the patched cars in the Tuners update.
On PC, my RE-7B reaches a top speed of 216 mph / 346 khm/h and I hope it won´t be patched cause I just love it! It´s the proper speed the RE-7B should run imho...
These glitches have happened, one would assume they would learn and do proper testing. It feels like there is no QA being done on any of these updates, which is just weird. Rockstar has released some broken stuff in the past, the GTA IV port for example, but with GTA V being mostly bugfree when it came out one could assume they learned a thing or two. It just baffles me how this is currently going on and it keeps repeating each update, how can humans be this inept??
I've played GTAO for over 1kH now and honestly, I had no idea about how they worked these top speeds and what was up with the strange 122 limit on most land vehicles, this video has enlightened me massively and although I knew about the slamming to increase the speed (because on every GTA vehicle video there's someone chatting about the slammed Rapid GT) and I had no idea it was to do with rear suspension compression and that tires actually did something and that low profile tires are actually beneficial to top speed! I will now burn the old effigies and proclaim you my new savior and leader of my pagan cult

Stunt races= winner based on placing + stuntcount(flips rolls, etc) Helmets in cars(allowed during race) Emblems appearing on cars without choosing it or even having the option(bug) Stock spoiler = no traction bonus, remove spoiler =traction bonus(makes no sense) Etr1 cardboard spoiler(stock spoiler flys off if u hit something) 7b/etr/tyrus tires bug Premium race payouts-podium/amount(100k, 40k, 20k) Tires and rims should be separate options Include stock rims for each vehicle Allow stock rim color change Cars stay dirty unless washed Rally races are actual rally, 1 car/time.best lap wins.
+balzarini51 its only with offroad stock tires though. and im not sure the offroad stock tires actually have proper physical properties since so much of the tire is already clipping anyway. i want them to make it so that stock vehicle tires are added to their class but i also want them to separate rims from tires so i could put like muscle rims inside offroad tires. i just feel like rim design and tire choice should be options and not a combo deal.
Goddamn, that explains why I was having so much trouble controlling my RE-7B with stock tires. I thought there might have been a patch that made "custom" tires perform better, but nope, I was just going too damn fast and not really noticing it. Thank you so much!
Another quality Broughy video explaining just exactly what's going on with these cars. I still prefer if the glitch is left alone though. The cars are a lot more fun this way, and in a way this introduces some proper race tuning to the game rather than just "slap every performance part onto the car and be done with it forever".
I'd prefer a fix, the performance isn't consistent. Some people go way faster than others, even if all have the game running at 60fps. I'd rather see a car that is made to go that fast.

The new RE-7B costs 2.5 mil!!!, i'm sorry but if have to pay that much for 1 car I want it to be able to reach 140+ mph. Good video btw, I like the amount of effort you put in your videos and it's certainly a lot more than Boss, Nought or Saints. They deserve your subs, you deserve their subs.
it does reach 147mph i was going in downtown los santos over bumps and i think i got a higher top speed, i swear the signs were flying past me... then i hit a car
It's a racing car not a top speed car if you race the re 7b against any car with a higher top speed you have a good chance of winning unless you can't drive or it's a race without turns

You deserve way more subs than any of the big GTA RU-vidrs (Congrats on 80k subs btw) Just your content is always top quality and you actually care about your viewers, and sit down and take the time to explain things instead of just stating that there's something wrong. During the whole video I was shaking my head in disappointment for the fuckery that is "racing" GTAV. Completely and entirely broken in almost every aspect of it. The only things you need to do to win is have one of the top cars with the right modifications on, push people off track and boom you're golden. Not even gonna bother anymore with this cancer of a mode, I'm better off shooting AI and just enjoy driving around.
I feel the same way, so I started changing, when I host the race, to non-contact. Usually the cheaters will leave! By the way, if you want a fair race in GTA on-line I am Not2muckinfuch. I'm still learning, so u may beat me. But, I would rather be beat in a race, then shot in the streets!
Well, they've obviously failed if that is the case since the RE-7B is one of the LEAST smooth cars over jumps. It constantly overshoots jumps if you jump at full throttle, and will even hit the ceiling of a tunnel and explode on the East Coast track.
You're one of the top guys, I imagined guys like you, Frinke- and rzodkiew would all benefit from it :) I just don't understand how it hasn't made its way onto the Fact Finding series yet ... it's like, literally the #2 "How To Go Faster on GTA" after kerb boosting.
I had a "fortunate" crash with the RE-7B and the left back tire was even more compressed. Got on 211,3 mph on Xbox One. Surprisingly, the traction didn't suffer as badly as I imagined. If you could do this on purpose, WR on high speed tracks would be a piece of cake.

Haven't heard of any inside jokes but pretty sure its just that the fact that the TugBoat is so fucking slow that it's taking Broughy forever to even get around the track in the water. Also possible that the corners are too sharp for the tugboat to turn
Why old gen? Next gen is 30fps too. Instead caps fps at 30fps, I can also say 60fps. In other words, when playing racing on PC, It would be good that the game limits the fps at 60 fps as MAX. Would be ideal. This prevents players "who think they are good drivers" reach you in a straight (same car) when you've worked better than them taking the curves of the track. It's fair? Broughy, remember your statement about Rockstar playing RU-vidrs like DatSaintsFan and MrBossFTW like bitches? This could be the work of Rockstar. They know these RU-vidrs do drag races, and judge only off top speed. Which means the RU-vidrs and their fanbase are now fooled into thinking that the new cars are the fastest, therefore pushing microtransactions (Shark Cards). They can cover it up by claiming that they were glitches.
in the RE-7B with high end tires it makes it very difficult for stunt races as it goes so fast that it clears a large majority of the jumps which can be very annoying on some tracks
I know, it looks fucking retarted weaving over the whole road just to get some filthy boosts. Unfortunately it can't be patched, it's built in the engine of the game and they'd have to completely remake the game :(

anadraps Well true most people are used it now, BUT with time it will be a much better and pure experience than before. And quite frankly who cares about the old laptimes when you get a much cooler experience than before :p

The re-7b is a monster, I just brought one the other day, and whilst I was playing last night I took it on a certain strip of road which had some down hill in the city and then continued on flat, considering my car was slightly bashed from many crashes, had max trans, engine turbo, spoiler, suspension, and no armor, I registered a 196mph top speed on ps4, going up and down the same strip of road i was averaging 160-170mph. It was accelerating at a ridiculus rates up hill and down hill, and I have to admit I was baffled at what was happening.
Since we spend so much time landing of jumps now whats the best way to land with the new supercars, front wheels, back wheels or all wheels? anyone tested this yet !!
it's always been best to land a jump with the back tires hitting the ground first. You'll get a compression or "curb boost" doing it that way. Just don't let the back bumper hit the ground.

I placed the after market spoiler on my RE7B and all other cars following the re-release of your testing video. Fortunately, I was at work the day you originally tested the cars and didn't immediately pull the trigger. However, unlike normal, I left the stock tires on my RE7B due to the thickness of the sidewalls of them and my preference of their overall appearance. Hopefully once this glitch is patched the stock tires will perform well comparatively traction wise to other tires with thicker sidewalls.
Oh, by the way, thank you for the great work with your videos. I appreciate the facts and more appropriate testing versus wild speculation and 1 kilometer drag strip tests.

I did a Plummet stunt race last night in the 811 and got my highest land speed by a large amount. 262 mph. It was the part where you go down the giant mountain and I hit a couple slipstreams. When I hit that ramp at the end it nearly vaulted me over that whole landing section on the left/right of the road. Which is absurd. Before my record was only like 200 lol.
Can you upload a comparison between the RE-7B with Carbon Wing + Stock Tires and Stock Wing + Offroad Tires? I'm really curious how big the difference is
Wow, so new cars have a downforce Multiplier? that explains why i'm getting a lot of boost from riding walls in the new stunt races (I mean in the 360 loops and the tubes that have a turning factor to the car), Every time i get through them with the new cars, they have a pretty considerable boost to the speed. The most noticeable one, is the 360 loop, where I should be exiting at roughly the same speed, but get out of them at quite a higher speed than which i got into them (probably related to kerb boosts too). Thanks for your greatly explained videos, I think you understand gta v cars more than rockstars develepors do! XD
I feel the purpose of the downforce multiplier might have to do with the suspension to make those cars better on those tracks, but I could be crazy. Either way though, what you said made perfect sense and I'm glad you made this video! :)
Broughy said in stream that his internet died on the last stretch of testing the Tug. I heard him say the Tug completely ruined the Planes class and overtook the Hydra.
PCpro Gamer you may lower the settings but no one else will. Therefore you are at a disadvantage. Especially if you pc can run anything more than 30 fps
I dont know why I always need to smile when i watch ur videos. I guess i really enjoy proven facts. Also I really like how much effort u put in just to make it right. It makes me happy to see how ur channel is growing (i probably watched almost every video since the gta 5 pc release). I never was interested in serious racing, i just rarely played any racing games. But then i discovered ur channel and started being intrested in getting better at racing. After the video there never is a question in my head because everything is covered correctly, and thats what i love so much. So I really hope that your growth continues.

Thanks Broughy. Very good analysis. I wonder is rockstar will delete all laptimes set with the new cars when a patch comes out. If they don't do that we won't be able to beat our own laptimes on the tracks we drove it with XD.
I honestly don't think they should take it out because it gives the option to drastically change the cars set up just like in real life. For more top speed you sacrifice cornering and vice versa. It gives a sense of variety even though we all are using the same car
DOWN-FORCE, I used that word 2 days ago, I knew I was right. I learn it modding the game actually... Since the start I understood that these cars are faster because we are supposed to make loops and stuff with them. When modding, I remember that if I add down-force, I can fly with the vehicles when upside down, just like you can do with Bikes and Motorcycles. I am sure about it, I knew it since the start, they made it for the stunts
Can u do a video like this? Example: test an upgraded t20 vs a stock proto. I would love to see this and it could become a great series. U could only do the top cars or do all of them. Thanks for the great vids over the past couple years!!😃
So if I get this right: 1. the Slamvan has been patched on console but is still broken on pc 2. the 811 has not been patched on any platform yet (and reaches even more ridiculous speeds on pc than on console) 3. the new Supers are also broken at the moment with a specific setup. Is that all correct? You seem pretty confident that R* should patch this quickly, but if the 811 is still bugged I'm not sure they still care about the issue. And if it's anything like the Slamvan Custom, it may not change much for pc players. Oh well. Anyway, thanks for going over the whole issue, and congrats for hitting 80k subs :)
Good explaination starting from the basics, but I think that one thing is kinda missing: A direct comparison between the RE-7B on console and the bugged version on PC. From what I know it can easily vary between 160mph (read on the speedometer, which I know is not acurate, but other people max it out at 180) to 200mph (195 being reported using the same method you have for calculating your top speeds). This thing is not only stupidly fast (which is kinda funny to drive, if it wasn'T for the worse handling) it also is pretty inconsistent. But right now I'd be happy if R* would just fix the editor they f-ed up with the last dlc.

Dude first - your content is very technical and very explanatory and sensational, second - you can make a more updated video using as an example the lm-87, because these days I saw an lm-87 that arrived in front in the races with a minute and a half difference from the second place this with all of us using devest eight and torero XO.
And my friends and I played against this guy in more than 15 races already and all that he participates go from lm-87 and wins all always with a lot of advantage of the second place.
@@johnyjjsiqueira4198 the LM87 is a second a lap faster than the XO around broughy's testing track, and it isnt too far away from those two's top speed, so the driver has probably maximised that car better than others
Hey, Broughy. just a quick tip: do some research about the parts of the car youre going to talk about. it was kind of confusing to understand and i think that if you use names like wheel arches insted of the rear of the car, people will understand better. love your videos! :)
I've noticed that the wheels start going into the ground even with a totally stock car when you're going at speed- so I don't think your theory of the custom spoilers activating this stat pans out. Maybe they increase it, or it's playing into the other stats that a spoiler increases (horizontal/frontal traction stats) or something entirely unrelated and weird that we don't know about. Good video, all the same.
Yes they do, but they're not being pushed down with enough force to cause this bug to appear. Only when you add the custom spoiler (and add more downforce) does the back end start to make contact with the rear wheels
There's also another old bug back in the game. I have been noticing when racing the new dirt bike that it can fly if you get the right angle off a jump and hold it.
