Awesome shop improvement project April! I agree the pull out for the spindle sander will be a great addition to an already functional piece. I put a few pull outs for tools in my multipurpose table and really enjoy them... especially at my age (29ish)! Keep up the good work!

Great idea, nice build...I have several tools on rolling carts. I only include one or two draws just for what I need for that tool. The sander would have extra disc's etc for that tool and that tool only....I do agree if you add more drawers you will find junk to fill them up....Really great video...

Another terrific build! It's almost a cousin of the drill press stand. Just as before April, you have a keen awareness in the filming and the explanations in the tutorials that help the viewer. Thank You for that! Hopefully folks'll stick around and buy a T-shirt (Cool shirts) and give Harry's a shot! Told the daughter bout Harry's... Who knows?! Cold down there? Take care and be safe. See Ya.

Good project. I'm going to build some version of this soon. Right now, my planer is just on the ground, and I'm 6'4"...that's a long way to bend down to use the planer. And you're right, it is just too heavy to lift up all of the time.

Hi April, All my stands are similar to yours except instead of having a top shelf I make a thin torsion box and use 1" pipe to make it swivel, I then attach both tools to the top and use a simple wood plug through a hole drilled in both the side and torsion box, therefor making both tools available by a simple turn of the top.

Nicely done. For your slide-out shelf, many ball-bearing drawer runners will work in a flat orientation, so your slide-out shelf could be little more than a simple piece of plywood without having to worry about attaching runners to its lousy 'edge-grain' (remember that equipment can be heavy, so the shelf and runners will need to be capable of supporting that weight in cantilever). I've taken to building shallow drawers (similar to toolboxes), since they can't pile up as deeply, but still help keep the tools organized (and sawdust/shavings from covering them).

Hi, I saw on one of Patricks vids his planer stand has a lazy susan, so you in feed , swivel the planer toward you and catch the out feed , then swivel it back to infeed , and he has it hooked to dust extraction as well, seems like a great idea for a micro shop.

Very nice. I was sitting there thinking the same thing about the pullout tray for your spindle Sander. I guess since you don't like drawers I take up the slack on that because that's what I'm all about. LOL
@AprilWilkerson
@AprilWilkerson 8 лет назад
Oh yeah, I'll certainly have to add a slider for that. : ) I wouldn't mind drawers except they are just too easy to clutter up and become useless. Sandra has been putting out some good videos recently on quick builds that organize her drawers so I might use some of her ideas.
