Hi, just came across your channel, as I’m trying to go through menopause naturally. It’s been tough. I’m 47 and had to have a complete hysterectomy December of 2023 due to large cysts on my ovaries. Thank God it wasn’t cancer but it’s been tough. Weight gain, despite me working out and eating healthy. I’m moody, wake up throughout the night, hot flashes, etc, etc, etc!!! This might be a silly question, but is my body producing hormones anymore since I had a hysterectomy? It’s overwhelming, trying to do research and find out what to do naturally with all the info out there. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for educating us!

Thank you for your comment and for your share. It's a great and important question! Your body does still produce hormones after the ovaries are no longer functional (due to menopause or surgery), but in less amounts. The adrenals become one of the primary sources along with other parts/systems/glands in the body. I did another video on the keys to building healthy hormones here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O2L9iku2Y6g.html and I'll be doing some other posts on understanding your body symptoms and tools to help support rebalance coming up so keep checking back. There is lots that can be done, but I fully understand your frustration and wanting more information. you might also like this video on the liver's role in menopause and mood as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JGbQL5lWkE4.htmlsi=RUCs_wq9Su1Ictk7 Thanks again for your comment and for being here!

Meat is also a great source of magnesium!

Thanks for your comment. Yes, there is some magnesium n meat, but I find nuts/seeds and greens etc have "more bang for the buck' when it comes to magnesium but I appreciate the nod to meats as well! :)

thank you very much for all this information. I just turned 49 and still have regular cycles, but shorter and more abundant. I recognize myself in the symptoms of lack of progesterone. I've been suffering from anxiety disorders for a long time, but now it's taking on major proportions and I'm thinking that it could well be linked to this lack of progesterone, especially as my sleep is increasingly fragile. What do you think of natural progesterone creams (Yam)? Wouldn't it also be interesting when you really suffer from anxiety and insomnia ?

Thanks for your comment and sharing. I work more with Chinese Medicine Herbs and food medicine (we customize it even more than what I mentioned in the video). The skin is our biggest absorbing organ so what we put on matters and can have impact. There are few more videos coming up that may be helpful talking about making sure we're making hormones but also making sure they're available for the body. Some of the foods listed will help, "sleep hygine" (no screens, go to bed when you're tired vs stay up late, don't eat late etc etc.) and #1 is for sure noticing stress triggers and ways you leak energy or override yourself. More on all of these soon. I know that wasn't super specific but hopeful helpful! Thanks again for commenting!

What showed up for me at perimenopause and menopause is tinnitus and migraines. I had never experienced either one until late forties. I am 63 now and the headaches have lessened since I added eggs, ghee and red meat back into my diet and dropped high oxalate foods. Still have tinnitus. Any thoughts/suggestions. BTW, you have amazing skin!!

Yes both these are unexpected symptoms of midlife. The body will show what the 'weakest link' is though symptoms. I am going to be doing a series coming up on understanding your unique midlife body and how to read some of the symptoms so that may be helpful for you. Were you a vegan/vegetarian until you added eggs and ghee back into your diet? Thank you for sharing!
@jeanniedanford
@jeanniedanford 25 дней назад
@@angela_warburton Yes, I was vegan for probably 3-4 years before symptoms started. Thought I just needed to go totally organic, grow my veg and not eat anything at all processed. Finally, 4 years later, I thought this isn't working and I have to add the animal food back in. Look forward to this series. Sounds VERY interesting and helpful. Thanks!!

It's so common that we need to reassess and fine-tune things as we go. Bodies change so much at midlife and with certain life circumstances. Even though something is 'good on paper', I find it always needs to be tweaked and adjusted to the person and to where they are at. So good that you were able to listen and adjust to what you needed. I'll be working on that series coming up and touch on the menopause body in a few other posts. Thank you again for your share!

Thoughts of vitex or wild yam ?
@angela_warburton
@angela_warburton 19 дней назад
Wild yam is used in Eastern medicine from the food side to build progesterone and it fits the category of starchy whole foods to build progesterone. I don't work with the creams but more use herbs to replenish balance but some women have had a good effect with them. I always find that it's a combination of things (foods, lifestyle, tending to the mental and emotional world etc.) where we see the most significant changes and improvement. Vitex I know is used a lot in the naturopathic world for hormone balancing and we use it in Eastern Medicine but rarely on its own. We combine herbs together to custom treat the pattern of the person, so I find it really depends on what symptoms the woman is presenting with. That's why there isn't one herb/supplement that works for all women. I'll be posting more on understanding your "menopause body type" soon. Hopefully, that helps a bit even though a bit general. Thanks for your comment!

If find that highlighting estrogen building foods in the first part of your cycle and progesterone building foods in the second part can be really helpful long term for a smoother and more symptoms free cycle. (you can watch the building estrogen naturally video here.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0NEUSjGKVeU.htmlsi=WkgoHG5LwqmkNf3Q ) There are of course subtleties to every woman that are best tended to by a health practitioner that can help you look at the whole picture treating you holistically. Thank you for sharing!

So the progesterone creams in your opinion aren't something that are helpful in menopausal women? I know my mom was on estrogen with progesterone cream and she ended up having to have a hysterectomy at 70. So monkeying with hormones which I have dabbled in seems pretty risky for me. So what I hear you saying is basically what we eat can help hormonally? And yes of course the stress lowering which is so much easier to say than do. And actually everybody's saying that which I think adds to our stress one more stress because we feel like the stress is killing us. Which is highly paradoxical but seems so true.
@angela_warburton

I don't actually advise on HRT or progesterone creams etc as that's not my modality. I know some people have great responses to them and others not. That's why it's so important to work with a practitioner that can really customize it for you. My training and toolbox is using Eastern medicine, herbs, customized nutrition and all the other lifestyle tools to bring lasting change. I work to really help women find the root of the problem/imbalance and then educate them to understand their body and all the tools to take care of it. I often us custom herbs for a series of months to bring the balance back but it's not something that has to be ongoing when the other things fall into place. Food and lifestyle is huge. And yes, I hear you about the stress around the stress!! (I'm trying to supply you with more and more simple tools that are easy to apply so stay tuned!) Some women do a combination of HRT/Creams as they like to combine. There isn't one answer or way to approach this, but it's really about finding your way if that makes sense. I know that's not the most satisfying answer...it's really a holistic approach and my experience is when we approach it holistically and when you as the woman is empowered and understand, then big lasting change happens. I hope that helps! Thanks again for your comment!

Estrogen is not made from progesterone. Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol are made from pregnenolone which is precursor to all these hormones. And yes, too much stress can make bodies choose to produce cortisol instead of progesterone, high insulin will make our bodies produce more testosterone and then estrogen. Yes, we all have to start chilling!
