The south isn't the only one who would love to see a ugk versus mjg and 8ball. Both groups are respected on the east coast. I can't wait for it to happen!
B High ended this video like Jordan on Bryon Russell. Cross, rise up, unsolicited back story on the birth of International Players Anthem....swish!😁🔥 This man is in the zone right now on this content 💯
I've always loved UGK & 8Ball & MJG, including the solo albums, but it's too hard for me to experience UGK & 8Ball & MJG Verzuz without Pimp. Pimp a whole personality. Without him on that stage, something is just missing
They would ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO find the perfect artist to cover Pimp's part 🤔 and for the life of me I can't think of anyone. Unless the industry came together and had multiple artists. Like a different artist for each song.
“Respect my mind cause I'm a trill old schooler Summer time get too hot, I wait for winter when its cooler” Bun B is a monster. His flow was unmatched from like 03-08
I knew this was gonna be 1 of my favorite interviews when I saw the pic posted, but damn man every clip released it gets better & better! UGK4Life! LONG LIVE PIMP C!!!
As a fellow native Texan I understand every sentiment that Bun tries to convey to the audience. I've met Bun b before and he is really a great person. Even though it was only for a short while his energy was extremely genuine. I remember that time when Kanye West tried to give his award to Big boi and Bun B, and they refused. Even though Kanye West knew that the players anthem was the best song in a long time that we've heard from any rappers. But I like how they stood on their principles of being real stand up dudes from the south and would not except an award that they didn't win and they didn't want to be gifted one. I think those traits that southern men have I've never really seen that in East Coast dudes. So anybody that's from Texas that rides for Texas music understands wholeheartedly what he's saying when he says we got to ride this thing out and we can't take nothing from no out of state niggas. No matter how nice they might be, we have to do for self. #Texasstandup #thesouthstandup
Kanye is a UGK and Outkast fan. Kanye is from the midwest so UGK and Outkast have a lot of midwest fans including Chicago. Chicago was also the first city outside the south to embrace Rap-A-Lot and Suave House Records. The midwest including the west coast supported the southern movement way more than the east coast did. That’s why Kanye wanted to give them his award.
Dj Paul and Juice had so much of a underground mentality that they didn't even care about that choose you record. They were used to making hot song's that never became hits. When I first heard that I choose you record on pat's album I knew it was a hit too, but pat was locked up so there was no promotion behind the song. 36 should have remixed that song and re released it on their most known unknowns album and added a new verse from pat along with UGK and OutKast would have been epic.
B High..... thanks for bringing the dopest interviews to us. I know alot of folks say it, but you truly are the Big Dog in the interview game today. Best content, best guests, keep doing your thang........
6:45 - Bun is droppin' jewels lol! Moving up top from the South, that's one thing I'm still getting used to. There's just a certain level of respect we use in the South when talking to somebody grown.
I'm not from Texas but that joint "I Choose You" was one of the illest joints in hip hop history and then the video dropped and Pimp had that white mink coat (clorox)with the white mink hat! 🔥🔥🔥🔥On his Willie Dynamite
Great stories by one of the legends... I'm striving every day to be a dope interviewer like B High and get some of these greats on my show/podcast for the culture!
I can respect that but I think it's the opposite. Bun and ball are the most lyrical out of their group. In new York we respect lyricism and bun and ball are very well respected here for being about that pen. Mjg and pimp are similar in that they going to give you that real talk.
@@dolo6149 you must havent heard MJGs solo album “No more Talk”. Very underrated album. Of course it ain’t the most lyrical project you’ll hear, but it’ll change what you think about MJG.
When Gucci said on Round 1 “Made Lil Will sing the hook for a 50 Slab” I was like ahhh mane. You can’t play Lil Will, he made that song stand out. Respect to Bun for saying that about the song.. 💯💯
Will made the song because the hook was catchy as hell... but Jeezy made the song blow because alot of folks don't know that song actually came out with boo before Jeezy got on it' & it wasn't really poppin but when Jeezy got on it shit blew up
Pimp C is my favorite producer man the way he arranged the best the instruments he uses especially that organ man I wish I could have met him before he passed
I imagine I be looking like wick in the presence of a Great being able to hear the story from the 🐎 mouth 🙌🏿☮️👑 that's 💯 not afraid to show love and admiration for people ✊🏿
I'm still mad at everybody who didn't know Project Pat did it first and I'm kind of mad at the Paul and Juicy for not at least having some of Pat's vocals on International Players. I also still feel like Pat's version was better. No disrespect to UGK and Outkast
@@ContextReallyMatters I agree with you on that. But u know they was young at that time.Pat was very stubborn at times.just me speculating. But Pat is that dude out of 3 6 mafia.
I'm mad people slept on that pat record & pimp was right about that one song. My favorite song on that album & I would've loved it if pat was on international players anthem. Shit would've been even harder
Hell nah 3-6 mafia before goodie m…….tbh you right too😂💪🏾can’t een lie just glad to seee this thread frfr wanted to have a friendly debate but can agree and debate😂😭💪🏾
I don't wanna see UGK in a versus without the Pimp. Imagine the swag and shit talking and game he'd spit. If it happens, it'll be the first versus I watch. 4 (well 3) of my top 10 rappers... I can't miss it.
Pimp C amazing down south producer on the low most folks dont know!!! Absolutely amazing producer!!! And writer aswell ofcourse performer too!!❤RIP to the good ole days
I'm sooooooo GLAD they didnt sign to Diddy. And it was a blessing. I'm mad MJG and 8Ball sign to Diddy.. They probably got so much money granted but Diddy dont do his artist right. Diddy wanted Bad Boy South but don't know ish about the south
Verzuz 🥊was just a thing the Artist🎤 did to entertain themselves and the fans 🙌while on quarantine😷. It was the Artists using their catalog vs the other artist catalog. They also kept relevant while doing it. Now... more people are coming out out of quarantine and making the Verzuz a full pack show award🏆 concert. it's almost an honor to do it if you're an O.G. artist and put in work for the culture. having all those songs under your sleeve and remind people of your hits and body of work. So many people are behind the Verzuz giving the Artist a bag💰💰. Promoters, media, etc.. The 1st ones that did Verzuz did it for free and for fun. Now it became a live concert and a boxing match all at once. Man! Verzuz is here to stay.
Diddy was disrespectful for that cause that made bun b wife feel bold enough to think ol boy was gonna agree with her and Diddy. Shout out to bun b on some grown man ish...ol girl acting like she the one with the talent.
SLIM WE BEEN SAYING THIS ABOUT ICY SINCE 04!!! That boy Will killed that damn hook and the bridge at the end. Will's Adlibs were excuted with precision!!!
