The question I wrestled with this week can I build muscle and burn fat while doing Rolling 48s (Alternate day fasting)? Can I build muscles while fasting? Am I getting enough calories in order to build muscles? Ho much protein do I need? etc....

I'm 39 hours into my fast and feel amazing. It's easy after the first 24 hours cause once that autophagy hits, I rarely feel hungry. Cannot wait to get this weight off!!

Wow!!! You've packed a lot of goodness and information in one video. I sadly can only like it once. You've smartly got it all worked out. I'm glad you mentioned about strength training in the morning on the day you'll break your fast. That nugget is helpful to me. I have a very short period of time to build muscles particularly in my legs but not neglecting my upper body. Suddenly I'm excited for the morning... or at least to decide to end this now 99 hour fast that was only supposed to be a 36 as part of ADF. But that's ok. I will count it as my 5 day fast that I decided to do at least once a year but no more than twice. Dexa scan... I planned to do one of those this year.. but hadn't decided when. Now I might wait for your video first. :D All the best to you. Be kind to yourself.

I am so glad you enjoyed this video and found it helpful! 99 hour fast??!? You are a beast. I'm excited for the Dexa and will be scanning it asap. I want to compare the results to my scale and my gym scale, which both supposedly measure fat, muscles, and bone mass as well.

I’ve built muscle without fasting years ago with a trainer. I’ve never not only attempted to build muscle on my own but also never on a fasting regimen. I’m now contemplating if I should switch to R48s vs R72 so that I can eat more often to incorporate weight lifting as well. I’ve read that you can always do fasted cardio but you must fuel your muscles if you’re weight training - even if it’s a glass of milk or protein shake. I just started R72s last week and I lift on the days that I eat and the day after, depending on when was my meal. I’ll give it maybe 1-2 more week (for a total of 2-3 weeks) then I’ll reevaluate.

Hey Yolanda We’re name twins. I’m new here. Just subscribed. Congrats, well done on your weight loss! OMG. We have so much in common. I tried body recomp, building muscle and losing weight. The hardest part is the scale doesn’t move much. Muscle is heavier than fat. I mentally NEED to see the scale move. I just changed my plan to losing the weight first, then build muscle. I looking forward to seeing you journey.

Yolanda!!!! So glad to have you here with us! I am a numbers girl too, that's why I decided to DXA screening. In addition to the scale, I am also going to track my inches more consistently. Hopefully, those things will keep me motivated.💜💜💜
