Have always been a static drop guy and have done it all from lowering blocks, cut and heated springs to the right way but never bagged anything. Currently static dropping my 96 C1500 but thinking I may bag my 63 short bed fleet since it has to come down to the frame once I start on it. Thanks for the Face Book invite have truly enjoyed the content thus far.

Good info thanks👍. I tried to do the same thing too and help out so i recorded the process of lowering my truck years ago. I ended up losing the SD card and every bit footage I had. Kept it static though with 2.5" drop spindles and 3" springs for the front. 2" blocks, 5" springs and c-notch for the back. Then went back and cut a bit of spring and removed the bump stops from the front. Smaller tires and clearanced the driveshaft tunnel. Added spring rubbers to stiffen it up some cuz I was scraping the front cross member on bigger dips and bumps. Yeah I'm an idiot

Hi, I leave in Colombia ,South America, you know every penny counts, therefore what do you think raffle about the spending in Us dollars on that whole kit what you just did front and back , I mean the whole air ride kit ? Around 5K ? Thanks, Julian
@ollieracuya
@ollieracuya 2 года назад
So with those lower control arms, there is no need for the lower air bag mounts?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
Correct. The lower control arm has the mount for the bag on it. It’s a flat surface to hold the bag.

Bro great video I have a question ? what spindle do you use to convert it from drum to disc or is there a kit I can purchase also would it come in a 5 lug bolt pattern
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
Thanks man! I would use this kit and keep six lug to run transport wheels. If you’re set on 5 lug let me know and I can send you a affiliate link with five lug. ebay.us/Grs1rw

Great video and very informative. Nick Hester does some great work and has been very helpful when I have had questions. Question for you. I am not going to use air on my 1961 stepper but am lowering it. I would like to get Viking coil over shocks later but trying to control my costs for now. Any recommendations on good coil over shocks on a static drop that will not break the bank? Thanks Tom
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
Thanks for the compliment! On a 61 it has the torsion bar front end so it’s a bit different than the 63-72 unless you swap it all out. Of course QA1 is the best cool over setup but they will break the bank lol. I’m not very familiar with Viking coil overs but I’ll look into them.
@TheVideopreneur

@@SIMPLE.C10 Yes, keeping the torsion bar front end. Thanks!

Your videos make it look easy thanks. Question though if I use the CPP lower control arms I don’t need to put in the bag cup correct? Just wondering.
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
If you get the cpp lowers made for air ride then it will bolt directly to it. Although if you want to lay out you need to cut the bumpstops l bracket off the control arm. I would recommend spending $200 more on the ridetech lowers.

Awesome videos. What air management system do you recommend?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
I love the airlift 3p system. It’s a simple plug and play system. A couple hours and you can have it all done and it looks great.

First off.. love your channel. Do you have any suggestions on a bolt on crossmember that allows to lay all the way out? For a 66 c10. Any help would be appreciated thanks! 🤙
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
If you’re talking front crossmember, I’d go with the porterbuilt drop member.

Will those shocks work if your using stock lower control arms
@SIMPLE.C10

Yes! Those shocks work perfect for stock, cupped, or cpp lowers!

@ChetoDaTruth
@ChetoDaTruth Год назад
I have the same bags and lower cpp arms.. are the cups neccessary on bottom of the bags?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 Год назад
No. With cpp lowers you will mount the bag directly to the control arm.
@ChetoDaTruth
@ChetoDaTruth Год назад
@@SIMPLE.C10 did you cut the bump stop off the lower arm?.. I'm wondering if I slide the bag all the way back like you, if it will avoid me from cutting the bump stop off.
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 Год назад
@@ChetoDaTruth you have to cut the bumpstops off because it limits your travel. The bumpstops stop the lower arm before it can lay all the way out. There’s two inches more of travel. If I would have known this I wouldn’t have bought them but I have a video on how to cut the bumpstops off.
@blowe1986
@blowe1986 2 года назад
CPP drop spindles too?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
Yessir. 2.5 inch spindles with the fabricated lower control arm put it down an inch from laying crossmember!
@Daniel-wh8rz
@Daniel-wh8rz 2 года назад
Do those shocks also work for the back?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 года назад
I use a different shock for the back. Almost any shock that has a travel of 8 inches or more will work great for the back. I’ll be doing the rear shocks on the back soon.
